📄 Editorial Review
TNNet Oy is a Finnish hosting, cloud, data-center, networking and managed IT infrastructure company founded in 2002 by Timo Nieminen in Jyväskylä. The business developed from Internet connectivity and server infrastructure into a broader technology operation covering hosting, telecommunications, cloud computing, cybersecurity, backup and managed corporate IT.TNNet generated approximately €4.6 million in revenue in 2025 and employed 16 people. Lauri Aho-Pynttäri serves as CEO, while founder Timo Nieminen remains involved as technology and finance director. Despite its relatively compact organization, TNNet operates at a substantially higher infrastructure level than a conventional small web host because hosting is combined with telecommunications, managed IT and its own Datavault Kanavuori data-center infrastructure.
The Web Hosting service is oriented mainly toward businesses and combines website storage, domain management, DNS, databases and email. Microsoft 365 can also be integrated when required. Hosting runs from Datavault Kanavuori in Central Finland using a redundant shared environment with load balancing and flexible storage capacity.
Web Hosting includes domain services, automatic domain renewal, SSL certificates, DNSSEC, email protection, webmail and database support. MySQL and PostgreSQL environments are available, with phpMyAdmin provided for MySQL administration. Applications such as WordPress and Joomla can be hosted, while customers requiring special PHP versions or greater server-level control can move to an OpenStack virtual server.
The VPS and Cloud platform is based mainly on OpenStack and KVM. Linux, BSD and Windows workloads are supported, while CPU, memory and disk resources can be adjusted independently as requirements grow. Network traffic is included rather than metered separately. Customers can administer their own virtual machines through the self-service environment, while migrations, operating-system administration and ongoing server management can also be handled by TNNet. Additional options include S3 Object Storage, snapshots, backup capacity, cloud-init, software licensing and security services.
For workloads requiring isolated infrastructure, Private Cloud combines dedicated physical hardware with OpenStack, KVM, VMware, Hyper-V or Xen. TNNet can provide the physical servers, virtualization layer and ongoing administration as one managed service. Clustered environments are also possible for applications requiring additional redundancy and availability.
Physical dedicated infrastructure is available mainly through customized business deployments rather than a conventional catalog of inexpensive instant dedicated servers. Companies requiring dedicated hardware can combine physical servers with virtualization, storage, backup, networking and managed administration within the same infrastructure.
TNNet is also an authorized Proxmox reseller in Finland. Proxmox VE environments can operate inside Datavault Kanavuori or on customer premises, with TNNet handling installation and management when required. KVM virtual machines and LXC containers are supported together with clustering, high availability, Proxmox Backup Server, snapshots, live migration and storage technologies including ZFS, Ceph, NFS and iSCSI.
Kubernetes is available for containerized applications, with Rancher providing graphical cluster administration. The platform accommodates automatic scaling, rolling application changes, distributed workloads and centralized access control. More advanced architectures can distribute services between separate infrastructure environments where additional resilience is required.
Colocation Hosting is another important part of the portfolio. Customers can colocate individual rack units or complete cabinets inside Datavault Kanavuori. Remote hands, replacement hardware, networking equipment, firewalls and broader infrastructure management can be added as required. Local technical personnel and spare equipment are particularly useful for organizations operating servers away from their own offices.
Backup services cover servers, workstations, Microsoft 365, Salesforce and other cloud data. Technologies include Veeam, Cohesity and Rsync, together with S3 storage and immutable backup options. Backup copies can be distributed between multiple Finnish locations. Microsoft 365 backup normally includes one year of retention, with longer retention available, while server and workstation retention can be adapted to individual business requirements.
The wider managed-services portfolio includes Microsoft 365, IT support, monitoring, patch management, business fiber, SD-WAN, managed firewalls, LAN and Wi-Fi, DDoS protection, EDR/XDR, MDR/SOC, email security, vulnerability scanning and Zero Trust access. Nagios handles simpler availability monitoring, while larger monitoring environments can use dedicated OpenStack resources together with Grafana.
This combination makes TNNet especially suitable for companies that want hosting, cloud infrastructure, connectivity, backup, security and data-center services under the same Finnish provider rather than coordinating several separate suppliers.
The website is available in Finnish only, and no multi-language/localized version exists. Services are priced in EUR (€). The current website has a modern responsive design suitable for both desktop and mobile devices.
