Tier.Net is a US hosting and infrastructure provider with roots going back to the 1990s in Binghamton, New York. The original Tier.Net operation combined a Southern Tier community portal with website design and hosting services for local businesses, while nonprofit organizations could receive free hosting. Restaurant.com acquired Tier.Net in 2001, after which the operation passed to Tier Internet Services, Inc. Tier.Net Technologies, LLC acquired the business in 2013 and developed it into a much broader hosting, server and data-center services provider.

Tier.Net Technologies, LLC was registered in Florida on July 31, 2013. Evan Kamlet and John Dundon are Managing Partners. Administrative operations remain associated with Binghamton, New York, while the hosting infrastructure extends across several US locations.

The service portfolio covers Shared Hosting, Reseller Hosting, VPS, Dedicated Servers, GPU Servers and Colocation, complemented by domain registration, SSL certificates, MailChannels SMTP, managed server services, Remote Hands and DDoS-related services. This gives Tier.Net enough breadth for everything from an ordinary business website to large bare-metal deployments and customer-owned colocated equipment.

Shared Hosting uses cPanel and is available through Starter, Corporate and Enterprise SSL packages. Depending on the selected package, customers receive unmetered storage and bandwidth, email hosting, POP/IMAP/SMTP access, webmail, FTP, SFTP, SSH, databases, SSL and application-installation tools. The environment supports PHP and MySQL together with technologies such as Node.js, Python, Java, Ruby on Rails, Redis and Memcached. Corporate hosting accommodates multiple domains, while Enterprise SSL adds a dedicated IP address and dedicated SSL certificate.

Reseller Hosting is built around cPanel and WHM and includes private-label hosting, custom nameservers, separate cPanel accounts, SSD RAID storage and WHMCS integration. Resellers can operate their own hosting brands while Tier.Net handles the underlying infrastructure. The reseller model can also extend beyond shared accounts into VPS and dedicated-server services.

The VPS range includes preconfigured and customizable virtual servers. Modern systems use AMD and Intel hardware, while configurable deployments include high-frequency AMD EPYC processors, DDR5 memory, NVMe storage and network options reaching 10GigE and 25GigE. Linux and Windows environments are available, along with several control panels and different management levels.

VPS customers can remain self-managed or use more extensive administration. Simple Management covers operating-system updates, kernel maintenance, security hardening and proactive monitoring. Ultimate Management extends this with broader server administration, application troubleshooting, domain-level assistance, a dedicated account manager and configured off-site backup support.

Dedicated Servers range from economical older-generation hardware to current high-performance platforms. The selection includes customizable bare-metal systems, clearance servers, rapidly deployable Turbo servers and GPU configurations. Processor options span AMD Ryzen, Threadripper and EPYC together with multiple Intel Xeon generations. Network allocations can reach tens of terabytes on 10GigE connections, while 25G, 40G and 100G options accommodate considerably heavier network workloads.

Turbo Deploy servers provide preconfigured hardware for customers who want faster provisioning without selecting every component separately. The inventory ranges from older Intel Xeon systems to Ryzen, Threadripper Pro and AMD EPYC servers equipped with substantial DDR5 memory and NVMe storage. GPU servers add capacity for AI workloads, rendering, scientific computing and other accelerator-intensive applications.

Basic Dedicated Server support covers the physical server, network, power, cooling, hardware replacement, reboot assistance and KVM access where applicable. Ultimate Management adds operating-system administration, security hardening, updates, proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, application assistance, account management and configured off-site backup capacity. Customers choosing unmanaged dedicated infrastructure should maintain a separate backup strategy appropriate for their workload.

Colocation is available from individual rack units through half racks, private racks and full racks. Services extend across six US locations and can include configurable power, bandwidth, IP allocations, high-speed uplinks, out-of-band management and Remote Hands. This is particularly suitable for businesses that want to retain ownership of their physical hardware while using Tier.Net's facility and network operations.

Remote Hands can handle physical tasks such as rack and stack work, power cycling, KVM assistance and hot-swap drive replacement. More involved work is billed according to the location, time and complexity of the task.

Additional services include domain registration and transfers, SSL certificates, MailChannels SMTP relay, DDoS mitigation and external server-management assistance. MailChannels provides a separate outbound email delivery option for customers needing more specialized mail infrastructure.

Tier.Net also supports extensive website localization. In addition to English, available languages include Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Romanian, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Croatian, Estonian, Latvian and Tagalog. Hosting products are primarily priced in USD.
