Thexyz is an independent, employee-owned Canadian email and web hosting company headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. The business started in October 2007, initially operating through the thexyz.org domain before acquiring thexyz.com two years later. Founder Perry Toone remains involved as a developer, together with several members of the original development team. The company has grown into an organization within the 11–50 employee range and has created more than 40,000 email accounts since its launch.

Email hosting remains the most important part of the company’s portfolio, although Thexyz has expanded into domain registration, shared web hosting, managed WordPress, virtual servers, dedicated servers, website builders, SSL certificates, DNS management, backups, website security, monitoring, and technical consulting. The company also acquired the UK software business ScriptDorks in 2012, adding software customers and VPS services to its operations.

The main service is Thexyz Email, a privacy-oriented platform available with an @thexyz.com address or a customer-owned domain. Accounts include webmail, IMAP access, aliases, calendars, contacts, tasks, mobile compatibility, spam and virus protection, two-factor authentication, application passwords, tracker blocking, and daily recovery archives. Larger plans add ActiveSync, CalDAV, CardDAV, secure Zulip chat, online meetings, document collaboration, longer backup retention, increased sending limits, and priority support.

The email platform does not contain advertising, analyze mailbox content for advertising purposes, or build marketing profiles from customer messages. Businesses using custom domains can manage accounts, aliases, forwarding, and security through a central administration portal. Individual customers can also use one of the established domains maintained by Thexyz.

Bulk promotional email is not permitted through ordinary mailboxes. Daily sending limits depend on the selected package, starting at approximately 300 messages on the entry plan and increasing to around 1,200 messages on the larger plans.

Customers can also select alternative email and collaboration platforms. OX App Suite combines email with calendars, contacts, tasks, file management, and productivity tools. SOGo hosting supports IMAP, CalDAV, CardDAV, and ActiveSync, with mailbox capacities ranging from 1 GB to 400 GB. Roundcube hosting provides a lighter open-source webmail environment suitable for customers managing multiple domains and mailboxes.

Titan Email adds templates, scheduled sending, reminders, read receipts, mobile applications, and productivity features. Google Workspace is available with account deployment and migration assistance. Thexyz also handles managed mailbox migrations, email archiving, domain-level spam filtering, S/MIME signing, and message encryption.

The managed migration service supports email transfers from Gmail, Microsoft 365, Fastmail, Yahoo, Zoho, and most other providers offering IMAP access. Migrations can be scheduled during weekday operating hours, and the original mailbox normally remains accessible while the transfer is completed. POP migrations are more restrictive because POP access generally exposes only the Inbox rather than the complete folder structure.

Email archiving is intended for organizations requiring searchable retention, journaling, compliance controls, eDiscovery, configurable retention periods, and encrypted long-term storage. The domain-level spam-filtering service supports an unlimited number of users on the protected domain and includes quarantine management, incoming filtering, and optional outgoing-message filtering.

The web hosting portfolio covers several different usage patterns. Usage-based cPanel hosting combines a small monthly control-panel charge with variable fees for storage, bandwidth, databases, domains, FTP accounts, SSH access, subaccounts, and dedicated IP addresses. This model can be economical for small websites with modest and predictable resource requirements, although conventional fixed-resource hosting may be easier to budget for busier projects.

Linux VPS hosting uses OpenVZ virtualization and includes SSD storage, root access, a dedicated IP address, operating-system selection, and several international deployment locations. Both unmanaged and managed servers are available. Managed configurations include server monitoring, reboot assistance, weekly backups, software installation assistance, and troubleshooting. Windows VPS hosting is not included in the product range.

Dedicated servers are hosted in Chicago and range from economical Intel Atom systems to more powerful Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC configurations. Servers include root access, a dedicated IP address, Linux operating-system options, substantial traffic allowances, and support for an unlimited number of hosted domains. Hardware availability depends on existing inventory, particularly for older or lower-priced configurations.

WordPress customers can choose between self-managed and managed hosting. These services include backups, security functions, migration support, themes, website-building tools, and compatibility with WordPress applications such as WooCommerce. Some technical specifications still refer to obsolete CentOS and PHP versions, so the active operating system, PHP release, database version, and software-update policy should be confirmed before purchasing a WordPress package.

Thexyz also provides a drag-and-drop Site Builder, hosted Weebly plans, SSL certificates, managed DNS, DNS failover, website malware protection, SEO tools, automated off-site backups, and website or server monitoring. Its marketplace integrates additional security, VPN, firewall, email-encryption, archiving, backup, and social-media services within the same customer account.

Domain services include registration, renewal, transfer, WHOIS searches, premium domains, expired-domain searches, and aftermarket sales. More than 577 domain extensions are available. The catalog includes both standard registrations and registry-premium domains, which can have significantly higher registration and renewal costs.
