📄 Editorial Review
TekTonic is a long-established U.S. VPS provider operating since 1997, when the business began with shell accounts and email hosting. Over the years, the company moved away from traditional hosting services and developed into a provider concentrated primarily on virtual private servers and cloud VPS infrastructure. TekTonic, LLC is based in Pennsylvania, while its hosting infrastructure is deployed in Dallas, Texas and Philadelphia/Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The current portfolio is centered on VPS and Cloud VPS products. Both are based on KVM hardware virtualization, NVMe storage, VirtFusion management, full root or Administrator access, IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity, operating-system reinstall functions and API access. The platform supports a broad selection of operating systems, including AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Debian, Ubuntu, Alpine Linux and Fedora, together with FreeBSD and several Windows Server editions from 2019 through 2025.
Standard VPS is the most affordable option and consists of several configurations covering small development systems through considerably larger virtual servers. The entry VPS-2G configuration includes 2 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe storage, 1 TB monthly bandwidth and one vCPU. Larger configurations gradually increase CPU, memory, disk capacity and transfer, reaching VPS-50G with 50 GB RAM, 1 TB NVMe storage, 8 TB bandwidth and 20 vCPU. Every plan includes one IPv4 address and one IPv6 address.
These VPS plans work especially well for developers, system administrators, testing environments, VPN applications, websites and other workloads where the customer wants complete control of the operating system without paying for management that may not be needed. Disk capacity on the Standard VPS range is tied to the selected package, so customers requiring significantly more storage generally need to move to a higher configuration.
Cloud VPS provides a more resilient infrastructure design. The range starts with CS-3, including 2 GB RAM, 40 GB replicated NVMe storage, 3 TB bandwidth and two vCPU, while the largest CS-7 configuration reaches 32 GB RAM, 320 GB replicated NVMe storage, 7 TB bandwidth and 12 vCPU. Storage writes are replicated across three NVMe storage nodes, and workloads can be moved onto spare compute capacity when host infrastructure experiences a failure.
Cloud storage can also be expanded without rebuilding the entire virtual server or forcing an immediate move to a larger CPU and RAM package. Backups are replicated between the Dallas and Philadelphia locations, providing another layer of protection beyond local storage redundancy. Customers can select either location when ordering a Cloud VPS.
The service is primarily unmanaged. TekTonic takes responsibility for the physical hardware, virtualization environment, network and underlying platform, while customers remain responsible for operating-system administration, application configuration, software updates, databases, firewall rules, user accounts and application-level security. This makes TekTonic considerably better suited to technically experienced users than to beginners looking for fully managed shared hosting.
Customers who need a managed alternative within the same wider business environment can also consider Togglebox (togglebox.com). TekTonic itself remains focused on customers who prefer direct server control.
VirtFusion is included with the VPS service and handles infrastructure-level administration without requiring an additional commercial panel. Customers can provision or reinstall the operating system, reboot or power-cycle servers, inspect resource utilization and perform other common VPS management operations. SSH or Windows Administrator access is then used for administration inside the operating system.
Traditional web-hosting control panels are available as optional licenses. Customers can add cPanel/WHM or DirectAdmin, allowing one VPS to operate more like a conventional web-hosting server while still retaining root access. Adding a hosting control panel does not turn the server into a fully managed service.
Several complementary services are available around the core VPS platform. TekTonic provides server backups, resource upgrades, load balancing and proactive monitoring. Basic monitoring is included with accounts and can check HTTP and HTTPS content, SSL certificate expiration, ping responses and TCP ports. Monitoring intervals can be as short as one minute, with email and SMS notifications available for failures and recoveries.
Proactive Monitoring extends this by automatically opening a support ticket when a configured check fails. External servers and services hosted outside TekTonic can also be monitored for an additional monthly charge.
The client area includes additional services such as domain registration and transfers, SSL certificates, managed DNS, cPanel licenses, DirectAdmin licenses and security products including Imunify AV+ and Imunify360. Domain extensions available for registration include .com, .net, .org, .co, .biz, .us, .mobi, .me, .info and .name.
SSL options include standard and Wildcard RapidSSL certificates. These additional products make it possible to build a more complete hosting environment around a TekTonic VPS without obtaining every component from a separate vendor.
The service is provided in English, with products priced in U.S. dollars. The current KVM and NVMe platform is significantly newer than TekTonic's older Virtuozzo and Xen-based services, and the active infrastructure now centers on Dallas and Philadelphia.
