SunnyVision is a Hong Kong infrastructure and hosting provider operated by SunnyVision Limited, with roots going back to 1997. Some corporate references use 1998, while the more detailed company history dates the SunnyVision brand to 1997. Over the years, the company has developed primarily around dedicated infrastructure, cloud computing, colocation and network services rather than traditional entry-level shared hosting.

Its service range includes Dedicated Servers, Cloud Servers, Colocation, Cloud Storage, Cloud Data Center infrastructure, CDN, Streaming, Virtualization and Cloud Migration, Managed Support, Reseller services and Referral services. The strongest part of the portfolio is clearly infrastructure hosted in Hong Kong, particularly for customers needing good connectivity between Hong Kong, mainland China and the wider Asian market.

SunnyVision operates three of its own data centers in Hong Kong and maintains its own network infrastructure. The company holds Hong Kong PNETS license #1338 and is associated with HKIX, APNIC, HKISPA and HKSIIC. Its APNIC network identifier is AS38478, giving it direct control over routing and connectivity instead of relying entirely on another hosting company.

Dedicated Servers form an important part of the business. Bare-metal servers are available with Intel Xeon processors, SSD or traditional SATA storage, dedicated IP allocations and different bandwidth options. Instant deployment is supported for selected configurations, while more specialized systems can be customized according to CPU, memory, disk and bandwidth requirements. Dedicated China bandwidth is also available, making the platform particularly suitable for companies serving users in mainland China from Hong Kong.

The dedicated platform combines enterprise server hardware with remote management and automated provisioning. Customers can reinstall operating systems, restart servers and perform hardware-level administration remotely. More than 50 operating-system templates are available, including Windows Server, Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, VMware ESXi and XenServer. Custom installation through IPMI is also possible when a customer needs an operating system outside the standard image library.

Cloud Servers use SSD storage and fixed resource packages. Standard configurations range from smaller 1 GB RAM virtual machines to 8 GB RAM systems with multiple virtual CPUs, larger SSD allocations and increasing monthly traffic allowances. These instances work well for websites, application servers, testing environments, smaller databases and infrastructure that does not require a full dedicated machine.

The cloud platform follows a pay-as-you-go, no-contract approach for the standard virtual server range, allowing customers to start with relatively small resources and move to larger plans as requirements grow.

Colocation is available from small 2U deployments through 5U, 10U and 20U allocations to complete racks. Customers receive rack space, power, bandwidth and IP allocations as part of the standard packages. Larger installations can use cages or private rooms, while the carrier-neutral environment makes it possible to arrange additional connectivity with telecommunications providers when required.

Cloud Storage targets applications requiring considerably more storage capacity than a normal VPS or dedicated-server disk configuration. The platform uses scale-out storage with automatic healing, redundancy and protection against individual disk, server, rack or infrastructure failures. Both file/object-oriented storage and block storage are supported, making it suitable for static content, backups, multimedia, application data and database-related workloads.

The Cloud Data Center service provides a broader infrastructure layer for customers that want to build complete virtual environments instead of operating a single virtual machine. Resources can be allocated across multiple cloud instances and incorporated into private, public or hybrid cloud architectures. This makes the service particularly useful for hosting companies, managed-service providers, software companies and organizations with more complex infrastructure requirements.

Virtualization and Cloud Migration services cover physical-to-virtual and virtual-to-virtual migrations. Existing physical servers can be converted into virtual machines, while virtual servers running in other environments can be transferred onto SunnyVision infrastructure. Migration assistance can include planning, conversion, testing, synchronization and final cutover.

The CDN service adds geographically distributed content delivery with intelligent DNS routing, while the streaming platform supports both live and on-demand video. Live streaming can use RTMP and MPEG-TS input, while video-on-demand services support MP4 content and HTML5 playback. Some parts of the streaming platform retain compatibility terminology from older technologies, but HTML5 delivery is supported.

Three management levels are available. Self-Managed service covers the physical server and network while leaving operating-system and application administration to the customer. Standard Managed service adds operating-system and application deployment together with proactive monitoring. Fully Managed service goes further with solution design, infrastructure implementation, optimization and broader administration.

SunnyVision also has a Reseller program intended for infrastructure resellers rather than ordinary shared-hosting resellers. It includes white-label options, API access, dedicated account assistance and volume-based purchasing arrangements. Qualified customers can obtain larger IP allocations, including /24 blocks, and can also arrange BGP announcements for their own IP resources.

The separate Referral program is simpler and allows existing customers or partners to introduce new business without managing the service directly. Successful referrals can generate account credits, while qualifying new customers may receive promotional account credit.

Automation is an important part of the platform. SunnyVision has used automated bare-metal provisioning since 2012, and customers can manage services through its own Client Portal and API. This reduces the need for manual intervention when deploying or rebuilding infrastructure.

The website is available in English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Pricing is primarily offered in HKD and USD, depending on the product or service.
