*📜 Plan description
Co-Location is Storm Internet's physical server-hosting service in its secure Ottawa-based data centre. The service is intended for organizations that want to place their own server or infrastructure equipment in a facility with dependable power, cooling, bandwidth and physical security rather than maintaining equivalent infrastructure at their own premises. Rack space, cabinet requirements, power allocation, network connectivity, IP resources and other facility details are configured for the individual deployment, with pricing supplied on request. The same infrastructure portfolio also includes managed VPS for customers that prefer virtualized hosted resources instead of installing their own physical hardware. Because the base colocation service houses customer-owned equipment, server operating system, CPU, RAM, disk type and control panel depend on the customer's hardware and software configuration.
Storm Internet operates from Ottawa, Ontario and provides business technology services through a local support organization. Standard services are billed on an ongoing month-to-month basis unless a separate fixed-term service agreement applies, with invoices issued monthly for the following month's service and applicable taxes added separately. Payments can be made through bank-based payment methods or select credit cards, and cheque payments are also supported through the company's billing process. Technical support is available by phone and email, with a customer portal and ticket system for account and support requests; regular technical support hours are Monday-Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday-Sunday 10am-2pm, while commercial clients with a support contract can receive 24/7 assistance. The service-level agreement provides a minimum 99% network uptime guarantee, subject to scheduled maintenance, emergency maintenance, force majeure, Internet failures outside Storm's control and interruptions caused by customer equipment or actions. Storm's business services are built as customizable solutions, so resource levels, configuration and commercial terms can be tailored to the customer's requirements.

📄 Editorial Review
Storm Internet Services is a Canadian Internet, hosting and managed technology provider headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. The company has operated since June 1996, beginning as a small dial-up Internet provider and gradually developing into a regional communications and infrastructure company serving residential and business customers across Eastern Ontario.Storm was originally founded by four local businessmen, including Herb Hartwig. An important ownership transition took place in 2003, when Charles Walther and Birket Foster acquired the company. Walther retired in April 2020 and sold his ownership interest to Foster, who continued as Chairman and CEO. The operating company is 4141903 Canada Inc., carrying on business as Storm Internet Services.
Over nearly three decades, the business expanded well beyond its original Internet-access operation. By 2024, Storm had more than 50 employees and maintained operations in Ottawa, Chesterville and Perth. Its service range combines Internet connectivity with Web Hosting, Managed VPS, Colocation, domain services, Managed DNS, fibre connectivity, DSL, cable Internet, fixed wireless, Managed Wi-Fi, private networking, network security and surveillance solutions.
Web hosting is focused mainly on organizations that prefer a managed regional provider rather than mass-market self-service hosting. The service supports email, databases, FTP access and website-management functions, while individual storage, bandwidth, CPU and other resource allocations are configured according to customer requirements.
Managed VPS extends this model to isolated virtual-server environments for businesses that need more control and resources than conventional hosting without managing all of the underlying infrastructure themselves. VPS configurations are handled according to project requirements rather than through a large catalog of standardized low-cost packages.
Colocation is another important part of the infrastructure portfolio. Customers can place their own servers and networking equipment in Storm's Ottawa facility while receiving power, cooling, network connectivity and physical security. This is particularly useful for organizations in Eastern Ontario that want locally accessible infrastructure combined with the same provider's Internet and network services.
Storm also provides domain and Managed DNS services. Managed DNS complements hosting, connectivity and server services with professionally operated domain-name infrastructure for businesses that require dependable DNS operation.
The overall approach is considerably broader than conventional web hosting. A business can combine connectivity, hosting, virtual servers, colocation, private networking, Wi-Fi and managed technical services under the same regional supplier. Storm operates its own network infrastructure while also using third-party connectivity where appropriate to extend service coverage.
The company remains strongly focused on Canada, particularly Ontario, instead of competing as a global budget-hosting brand. Customer service and technical support are handled locally. Services and prices are primarily intended for the Canadian market, with monetary amounts expressed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and applicable taxes added where required.
