SmartApe is a Russian hosting and infrastructure provider founded in 2012. The operating company, LLC Smart Ape, was formally registered in Moscow on November 20, 2012. Founder Mark Yuryevich Tepterev owns 100% of the company, while Sergey Aleksandrovich Fomichev serves as General Director. The company operates under a Russian telematic communications license and has developed from conventional web hosting into a provider covering shared hosting, virtual infrastructure, physical servers and colocation.

Its portfolio includes Unlimited Hosting 3.0, Bitrix Hosting 3.0, 1C-Bitrix licenses, domain registration, SSL certificates, NVMe VPS, HDD+SSD VPS, Windows VPS, VPS in the Czech Republic, cloud VDC infrastructure, dedicated servers, custom server configurations, colocation, complete rack rental, 152-FZ-oriented hosting and DDoS protection. Customers can therefore begin with an inexpensive shared-hosting account and later move toward VPS, cloud infrastructure, bare-metal servers or their own colocated equipment without changing provider.

Unlimited Hosting 3.0 is one of SmartApe's more distinctive products. A single account includes 100 GB of SSD/NVMe storage, unlimited websites, domains, databases and traffic, together with free SSL, email hosting, IPv6, CMS installation tools and a website builder. Hosting accounts use CloudLinux isolation, while customer data is kept in three copies inside a fault-tolerant storage cluster. PHP versions from 5.2 through 8.3 are available, which is useful both for modern applications and for older websites that have not yet been upgraded. Hosting servers use 10 Gbit/s network connections.

A 14-day trial is available for Unlimited Hosting without requiring payment-card details. This makes it possible to test application compatibility, performance and the control environment before committing to a longer subscription.

Bitrix Hosting 3.0 follows a similar unlimited-resource concept but allocates more computing capacity for projects built with 1C-Bitrix. The service includes 100 GB of SSD storage, unlimited websites, databases and traffic, CloudLinux account isolation, free SSL, IPv6 and a 14-day trial. SmartApe also supplies 1C-Bitrix licenses, creating a relatively complete environment for Russian companies running corporate portals, online shops and other Bitrix-based applications.

The virtual-server portfolio is divided between performance-focused NVMe VPS and lower-cost HDD+SSD VPS. NVMe configurations use KVM virtualization together with Intel Xeon Gold or AMD EPYC processors and RAID-backed storage. The HDD+SSD line combines larger hard-drive capacity with SSD caching and is better suited to customers who need more inexpensive storage rather than maximum disk performance.

VPS customers receive dedicated virtual resources, root access, operating-system installation and server-management functions. NVMe VPS plans include a 200 Mbit/s unmetered network connection per server. Linux, FreeBSD and Windows operating-system templates are available, covering typical website hosting, application servers, development environments, VPN services and general-purpose server workloads.

Windows VPS provides full Administrator access over RDP while retaining KVM isolation at the virtualization layer. Windows licensing can be ordered with the VPS, while additional Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, Office and SQL Server licensing can be added when necessary.

SmartApe also maintains VPS infrastructure in the Czech Republic, giving customers an alternative European server location outside Russia. This is particularly useful for projects that need lower latency toward Central Europe or simply require geographic separation from the company's Moscow infrastructure.

The Cloud VDC service is aimed at business customers requiring isolated IaaS infrastructure rather than a conventional fixed VPS. It supports private virtual environments, Windows and Linux virtual machines, snapshots, backups, VPN connectivity and DDoS protection. Hyper-V and System Center technologies form the core of this environment, making it suitable for companies moving traditional internal Windows infrastructure into a hosted data-center environment.

SmartApe's physical infrastructure services include dedicated servers, individually configured servers, colocation and complete 47U rack rental. Dedicated servers provide administrative access, dedicated IP addressing, operating-system installation, remote management, traffic monitoring and reinstallation functions. A server configurator allows hardware to be selected according to CPU, RAM, storage and other requirements instead of relying only on predefined systems.

Colocation gives customers the option of installing their own server hardware in Moscow while SmartApe provides electricity, cooling, Internet connectivity and physical infrastructure. Full rack rental extends this model to companies needing significantly more equipment or their own larger server environment.

Domain registration covers Russian and international extensions. SSL services include domain-validation certificates, wildcard products, organization validation and EV certificates. Free Let's Encrypt certificates are already included with shared hosting, while commercial certificates are more relevant where wildcard functionality, business verification or a specific certificate authority is needed.

DDoS protection is integrated into the infrastructure through DDOS-GUARD. The mitigation network has more than 1 Tbit/s filtering capacity, with basic continuous protection incorporated into hosted infrastructure within the applicable traffic level. Projects requiring considerably higher levels of protected legitimate traffic can use separate protection arrangements.

SmartApe also provides infrastructure suitable for Russian Federal Law 152-FZ, an important consideration for Russian businesses processing personal data and requiring infrastructure located within Russia.

The website is available in Russian and English, while prices can be displayed in RUB, USD and EUR. This improves usability for customers outside Russia, although the company's commercial focus, regulatory services and product structure remain particularly well suited to the Russian and nearby regional markets.
