SiteSell Inc. is a Canadian software and web-services company founded in 1997 by Dr. Ken Evoy, a former emergency-medicine physician and McGill University teacher who later moved into entrepreneurship and Internet business. The company is based in Sainte-Julie, Quebec, in the Montreal area and has built its business around providing individual entrepreneurs with an integrated online-business system instead of conventional stand-alone hosting.

SiteSell has an interesting corporate history. SureFire Commerce acquired the company in December 2000, incorporating its Internet marketing technology into the larger business. SiteSell became independent again in October 2002 following a management buyback. The company has since continued operating privately with a distributed international team serving entrepreneurs, content publishers and small businesses.

The main product is Solo Build It! (SBI!), which goes well beyond standard shared hosting. SBI! combines web hosting, domain registration, email, website building, business research, keyword analysis, analytics, traffic-building functions, marketing guidance, monetization tools and technical support in one subscription. More than 80 integrated tools and functions are available, reducing the need to combine a traditional hosting account with numerous third-party applications and plugins.

SBI! includes a domain name registered in the customer's name, secure hosting, email capabilities, responsive website templates and SiteSell's proprietary website-building system. Hosting supports unlimited pages, images and bandwidth, which suits content-heavy websites particularly well. Domain registration is handled through OpenSRS, with domain management available through SiteSell's own interface and the OpenSRS management system.

Website creation centers on BlockBuilder 2 (BB2) and Site Designer. BB2 provides a visual drag-and-drop editing environment, allowing pages to be created without requiring HTML, CSS, PHP or server-side administration knowledge. More experienced customers can still work with their own HTML, CSS and image assets. Responsive templates are included as part of the platform.

The business-building side is one of SBI!'s strongest differentiators. Brainstorm It! is used for niche and keyword research, including demand, competition and related-topic analysis. Blueprint It! helps organize the website structure, while Search It!, Site Info and related modules extend the research process. The platform also includes traffic analysis, ranking information, search-engine data, site-health checks and broken-resource detection.

Content and visitor-interaction tools are integrated into the same environment. Form Build It! handles forms and autoresponders, MailOut Manager provides email and newsletter capabilities, while blogging and RSS functions can turn site content into blog-style feeds. Content 2.0 adds visitor-generated content capabilities, and Infin It! can connect external services through subdomains. Social-media and monetization functions are also part of the SBI! ecosystem.

SBI! for WordPress serves customers who prefer WordPress and independent hosting. It retains SiteSell's business-building methodology, research tools, Brainstorm It!, Tai, training, community and support, while leaving website hosting, WordPress hosting and the principal SBI! website-building environment to another provider. This makes SBI! for WordPress more suitable for users who want SiteSell's business-development tools without moving their existing WordPress installation.

Artificial intelligence has become another important part of the platform through Tai. Tai combines access to technologies from ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini with SiteSell-specific workflows intended for online business creation. It includes content assistance, prompt-building tools, AI-generated images and specialized Tai Agents. The first five Tai Agents were introduced in December 2025, with additional agents continuing through 2026. Tai is included with SBI! and SBI! for WordPress and can also be purchased separately.

SiteSell remains strongly focused on solopreneurs and business owners rather than server administrators. It does not operate as a conventional VPS, dedicated-server or reseller-hosting provider, and SBI! is not intended for customers looking for SSH access, operating-system selection, server administration or a traditional hosting control panel.
