📄 Editorial Review

SiteName is a New Zealand domain-registration and hosting provider operating as a division of SiteTech Solutions Limited. The parent company was incorporated in 2006, giving the business a long operating history in the New Zealand Internet-services market. Nathan David Russ and Quintin Neil Russ have been associated with SiteTech Solutions since its incorporation, and the company remains New Zealand owned and operated. SiteName is also an authorised .nz domain registrar.

Its service range is intentionally compact and centers on Domain Registration, DNS, PHP Web Hosting and Professional Email Hosting. Customers requiring more substantial infrastructure such as VPS or dedicated servers are directed toward SiteHost, another SiteTech Solutions operation. This makes SiteName primarily suitable for customers wanting domain management and relatively straightforward web or email hosting rather than a large cloud-infrastructure portfolio.

Domain Registration covers the main .nz extensions together with a selection of international TLDs. Registrations and transfers are supported, although transfer availability differs between extensions. DNS management is included with domains and allows customers to use automatic configuration or manually manage common records such as A, CNAME, MX and TXT entries. For .nz registrations, completed orders can be processed rapidly once all required information has been supplied.

The PHP Web Hosting package is designed for small and medium websites. A single annual account can host up to three websites and includes 500 MB of storage, Debian Linux, FTP access, DNS management and the proprietary SiteName control panel. National traffic is included and international bandwidth is unmonitored, while file-archiving use is prohibited.

A significant limitation is the server-software specification associated with this hosting package. The environment lists PHP 5.2.x and MySQL 5.0.x, both generations that are extremely old by current hosting standards. This makes the package unsuitable for many modern CMS platforms, current PHP applications and software that depends on recent security or language features unless newer versions are available separately. Anyone considering WordPress, e-commerce software or a modern custom PHP application should confirm the available runtime versions before placing an order.

The Professional Email Hosting package provides up to five email addresses with 500 MB of storage and includes POP3, IMAP and webmail access. Auto-responders, antivirus protection and spam filtering are also included. Email is hosted in New Zealand and managed through the same SiteName control panel.

SiteName works best as a straightforward New Zealand registrar with supplementary web, email and DNS services. Its strongest points are local operation, authorised .nz registrar status, New Zealand hosting and simple integration between domains and hosting. The dated PHP/MySQL specification is the main weakness for customers expecting a modern shared-hosting platform.

The website operates in English, with services priced in NZD, and displayed prices exclude GST. No multi-language/localized version exists.
