The legal operator, Site B.V., was incorporated in 2011 under Dutch Chamber of Commerce number 53309847. The current Site.nl retail hosting operation dates from 2022 and was launched by Reshad Bashir, an experienced Dutch hosting entrepreneur who previously founded Versio. The people behind Site.nl bring more than 20 years of combined experience with hosting and domain names.

Site B.V. remains a relatively compact company, while its customer base has expanded considerably. The company has passed 10,000 customers, following an earlier milestone of 5,000 active customers. Site B.V. is associated with Bashir Group B.V., which has served as its management company since 2011. This gives Site.nl the profile of an independent European hosting business rather than a brand operating under one of the large international hosting groups.

Domains are one of its core strengths. Site.nl supports more than 1,228 domain extensions, covering .nl, mainstream international TLDs, country-code extensions and a broad range of newer generic extensions. Domain registration can be used independently without buying a hosting package. Ultra increases resources to 8 CPUs, 6 GB RAM, 200 GB NVMe SSD and 100 domains, while Elite reaches 10 CPUs, 8 GB RAM, 400 GB NVMe SSD and 200 domains. Ultra and Elite each support as many as 999 email addresses.

WordPress, Joomla and Drupal can be installed without purchasing specialized hosting packages. More than 300 applications are available through the one-click installer, and the environment supports multiple PHP versions. FTP, FTPS/SFTP and SSH access are available together with MySQL databases and daily backups.

The hosting environment can also be matched more closely to application requirements. Different hosting-server profiles include LiteSpeed and Redis configurations, Node.js-oriented environments and servers intended for applications that still depend on older PHP versions.

Customers can use domains registered elsewhere with Site.nl hosting. External domains can be attached to the customer dashboard, and hosting can be purchased without registering a domain at Site.nl. In that situation a free subdomain is supplied for website use, although outgoing email cannot be sent from that free subdomain.

Professional Email is integrated into the hosting platform. Customers can create normal mailboxes, forwarders and catch-all addresses and connect through IMAP, POP3 and SMTP. Webmail uses Roundcube, while incoming and outgoing messages pass through spam and malware filtering. Email accounts and forwarding rules are managed through the Site.nl account and hosting environment.

SSL Certificates are included with the all-in-one hosting packages. Standard hosting SSL uses Let's Encrypt and can be activated from the hosting environment. Websites created with the website builder receive SSL automatically. EV SSL certificates are also available as a paid upgrade.

The Website Builder is designed for users who prefer not to manage WordPress or another CMS. It creates responsive websites suitable for desktop, tablet and mobile devices and includes webshop features such as product management, stock control, product variations, discounts, statistics and payment integration. AI-assisted website creation can generate the initial site from a natural-language description before further manual customization.

Site.nl also operates Wobbio, an AI-native website builder developed internally by its team. Websites can be generated from text prompts and modified through conversational instructions, with live previews and automatic checkpoints. SSL, SEO fundamentals, domain-based email and multi-site support are integrated into the platform. Collaboration and permission controls also make Wobbio suitable for agencies and teams. The service is built and hosted in Europe.

Reseller Hosting is available through an upgrade of a normal account. Resellers can offer Site.nl services commercially under their own customer relationship and establish their own selling prices within the applicable conditions. End-user support remains the responsibility of the reseller.
