📄 Editorial Review

SecureAX is a Singapore-based managed cloud, web hosting, cybersecurity and IT infrastructure provider founded in 2007 by Caric Tan and Michael Foo. The business began with VPN services focused on private and secure Internet access before moving into virtual-server hosting in Singapore in 2009.

SecureAX became an APNIC member and obtained its own IP address resources in 2011. It joined Microsoft’s SPLA licensing program in 2012 and gradually expanded from hosting into managed cloud infrastructure, disaster recovery, cybersecurity and outsourced business IT.

Two acquisitions completed in 2018 strengthened this wider service model. EN-Singapore added digital marketing and cloud expertise developed through work with about 2,000 private companies, public organizations and quasi-government entities. Malaysian cloud and digital-solutions provider PCT added a presence in Malaysia and experience supporting companies including Bata, Hilding Anders and Power Root.

The current portfolio covers managed IT services, firewall administration, endpoint management, cloud PBX, office IT support, managed cloud infrastructure, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, website protection, email security, colocation, CDN services and sales automation.

Its multicloud operation supports infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, SecureAX’s Singapore cloud platform and customers’ on-premises systems. Management can cover provisioning, migration, monitoring, operating-system administration, patching, backups, restoration, database support, firewall configuration and technical troubleshooting.

VMware, Linux KVM and Proxmox environments are supported, together with Windows, Linux, Unix and BSD operating systems. This makes SecureAX suitable for mixed business environments rather than only conventional shared-hosting accounts.

The standard hosting portfolio includes Linux cPanel hosting, Windows hosting, managed WordPress hosting and managed Magento hosting. Linux plans use SSD storage and include cPanel, daily backups, unmetered traffic and migration assistance.

Windows hosting supports ASP, ASP.NET, Microsoft SQL Server and Plesk. The product information still refers to Windows Server 2012, an outdated platform that should be clarified before placing an order or migrating a business application.

Managed WordPress provides dedicated resource allocations, LiteSpeed caching, daily backups retained for at least seven days, automated WordPress and plugin updates, malware scanning, defacement monitoring, monthly reports and migration assistance.

Managed Magento uses LiteSpeed with LiteMage caching, daily backups, application security hardening and managed migration. Email hosting is not automatically bundled with the managed WordPress or Magento packages.

The email range includes large-capacity business email hosting, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and email archiving. SecureAX business email supports IMAP, POP3, webmail, calendars, contacts, notes, encrypted connections, two-factor authentication, antivirus filtering, spam filtering and daily backups.

Hybrid email arrangements can divide users between SecureAX mailboxes and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace while retaining the same business domain. This can reduce licensing costs when only part of a company requires the full Microsoft or Google productivity suite.

Backup and file-management services include disaster recovery as a service, Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, Veeam Cloud Connect and managed Nextcloud. Disaster-recovery projects can protect physical servers, virtual machines and private-cloud environments through replication, recovery planning and regular readiness exercises.

Managed Nextcloud provides businesses with a private file-sharing and collaboration platform instead of depending entirely on large public storage services.

Security services include managed website protection, WordPress malware removal, website maintenance, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, SSL certificate management, Cloudflare security administration, verified and common mark certificates, email-security gateways and employee phishing assessments.

Website-protection packages combine a web application firewall, automated malware scanning, DDoS mitigation and malicious-traffic filtering. The protected website does not need to be hosted directly by SecureAX.

The company also provides email-marketing software and virtual waiting-room technology. Virtual queues are useful for ticketing systems, registrations, government portals, product launches and other applications where a sudden increase in simultaneous visitors could overload the website.

Managed colocation and Singapore CDN services complete the infrastructure portfolio. Colocation can include rack space, Internet connectivity, private circuits, equipment installation, component replacement, remote hands and hardware sourcing.

The CDN provides Singapore-based content delivery, HTTPS support, traffic monitoring and attack mitigation without separate charges for every individual request.

A separate SecureAX customer portal continues to support domain-name ordering. Domains are now a secondary part of the business, with managed infrastructure, security, cloud administration and business communications forming the main service range.

Although SecureAX entered the hosting market through VPS services, it no longer maintains a prominent self-service VPS catalog or a standardized dedicated-server ordering page. Businesses requiring dedicated computing resources are directed toward managed cloud, private-cloud or colocation arrangements.

Shared-hosting accounts are limited to 250,000 inodes per domain, while cloud and VPS services can use up to 1,000,000 inodes per virtual machine. Managed dedicated-cloud environments are not subject to the same inode restriction.

The main website is responsive and available in English, while a separate English-language Malaysian website supports its regional operations. Product prices are primarily displayed in Singapore dollars, although some contractual fees may be expressed in US dollars.
