RamNode is an American cloud hosting and VPS provider founded in 2012 by Nick Adams. The company built its reputation around affordable unmanaged virtual servers with SSD storage, attracting developers, system administrators and experienced self-hosting users who wanted more control than conventional shared hosting could provide.

In February 2021, RamNode became part of InMotion Hosting through an acquisition that included the company’s infrastructure, employees and operating assets. Nick Adams left the business after the transaction, while RamNode continued as a separate hosting brand. The RamNode-specific team remains relatively small, but the company now benefits from the technical, financial and administrative resources of a substantially larger parent organization.

RamNode has evolved from a traditional VPS provider into an OpenStack-based public cloud platform. Customers can deploy, resize and remove virtual machines through the cloud control panel, API and command-line tools. Terraform, Ansible and cloud-init support make the service especially practical for repeatable deployments, automated infrastructure and development environments.

Standard SSD Cloud VPS plans cover lightweight websites, monitoring systems, VPN servers, development environments and general Linux applications. The smallest configuration includes 512 MB RAM, one virtual processor, 20 GB SSD storage and 1 TB monthly transfer.

Premium NVMe Cloud VPS plans use faster processors, DDR4 memory and NVMe storage. These configurations are better suited to production websites, databases, APIs, game servers and applications where disk latency and sustained I/O performance are important.

Storage VPS plans combine virtual processors with large HDD allocations and generous transfer limits. Storage capacity extends to approximately 4 TB, with some configurations including as much as 150 TB of monthly traffic. These servers are useful for backups, archives, media collections, file synchronization, software repositories and long-term log retention.

Dedicated CPU VDS plans reserve processor cores for one customer instead of sharing them with neighboring virtual machines. Available configurations extend from two dedicated cores and 8 GB RAM to 16 cores, 64 GB RAM and 1.6 TB NVMe storage. These are virtual dedicated servers rather than physical bare-metal machines.

Lite VPS plans provide inexpensive IPv6-oriented virtual machines beginning with 1 GB RAM. They work well for monitoring, development, reverse proxies and IPv6-compatible applications. A dedicated IPv4 address can be added separately when required.

RamNode also operates cPanel shared hosting for customers who prefer a conventional hosting environment. These plans support multiple domains, websites, email accounts and databases, with SSL certificates, CloudLinux isolation, automated backups and one-click application installation included. Integration with Cloudflare adds another convenient layer for DNS, performance and basic website protection.

cPanel reseller hosting is available for web designers, agencies and smaller hosting businesses that need separate customer accounts under WHM. Each customer can receive an isolated hosting account while the reseller controls packages, disk allocations, bandwidth and account access.

The cloud platform includes private networking, configurable firewalls, snapshots, imported operating-system images, block storage, S3-compatible object storage, floating IP addresses and Layer 7 load balancers. The load-balancing service supports HTTP and HTTPS traffic, SSL termination, WebSockets, health checks, session persistence and content-based routing.

Block storage can be attached to compatible virtual machines when more persistent disk capacity is needed. Object storage provides an S3-compatible environment for application assets, backups, static files and software distribution. Customers can deploy standard Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux or upload their own compatible images.

Cloud VPS and VDS plans are unmanaged by default. Customers remain responsible for operating-system installation, security updates, application configuration, monitoring and backup strategy. Paid professional services are available for migrations, deployment work, troubleshooting and individual system-administration tasks, but they do not replace a continuous managed-server service.

Additional services include cPanel licenses, CloudLinux licenses, incoming email filtering, email archiving and enhanced spam protection. These products are useful for customers building their own hosting environment, although some software licenses are restricted to servers operating within the RamNode network.

The website and client interface are in English, and prices are displayed in US dollars. The design is modern, responsive and suitable for current desktop and mobile devices.
