*📜 Plan description

Mail Starter is designed for growing projects and small teams that need more capacity than the entry plan but still want simple predictable pricing per month.
It raises the resources to 10 mailboxes tied to one domain, backed by a total of 10 GB mail storage so multiple team members, role accounts and departmental addresses can coexist without hitting storage limits too quickly.
Each mailbox can use up to 10 aliases, making it straightforward to map several functional addresses such as sales, support or hr onto a smaller set of inboxes, and up to 100 forwardings per mailbox allow complex routing rules to external tools or personal accounts.
As with the smaller plan there is a catch all feature that can be enabled to collect messages to mistyped or outdated addresses, which is particularly useful when rebranding or consolidating legacy address structures.
All mailboxes speak IMAP for synchronised access across devices and include the same ad free webmail interface, so staff can check mail in the browser without needing to install or configure a local client.
The tariff is priced at 5 EUR per month as a net business rate, shown before the statutory 19 percent German VAT is added during billing, and it can be upgraded further to Mail Pro if the number of users or storage requirements continue to rise.
Security features mirror those of the platform as a whole, with SSL TLS encrypted transmission, integrated spam and malware filters, blacklist support and optional PGP encryption for content that needs end to end protection.
Daily backups of mailbox data, triple redundant infrastructure in German data centres and DDoS protected servers contribute to high availability and reduce the risk of data loss for important correspondence.
Mailboxes, domains and WordPress instances are administered in the same Raidboxes dashboard, which simplifies onboarding new users, assigning aliases and adapting DNS settings when new domains are added to a project.
Combined with WordPress optimised performance and specialised support, Mail Starter provides a balanced choice for agencies and site owners who want email hosting that scales alongside their client portfolio without adding extra platforms to manage.

WordPress email hosting from Raidboxes combines secure mailboxes, GDPR compliant processing and climate friendly infrastructure in Germany into one coherent service for agencies, freelancers and site owners. All tariffs share encrypted IMAP access, an ad free webmail interface, strong spam and virus filtering, blacklist management, catch all support, autoresponders and automatic backups so everyday communication stays both reliable and compliant. Mailboxes and domains are administered directly in the same dashboard as WordPress hosting, with performance optimised servers, a documented uptime target of 99.9 percent per year and personal support available via live chat, email and helpdesk every day between morning and late evening.

📄 Editorial Review

Raidboxes is a specialist managed WordPress host based in Münster, Germany, operating under the legal entity Raidboxes GmbH. The entire platform revolves around WordPress and WooCommerce rather than generic shared hosting or multi-CMS environments. Instead of selling classic cPanel or Plesk space, they provide isolated "Boxes" – each Box is a dedicated WordPress instance with its own vCPU, RAM and SSD allocation, tuned specifically for performance and reliability.

The company traces its roots back to 2014, when the first prototype of the platform was built, and was officially launched as Raidboxes GmbH in 2016. Over the years they have grown into a team of around 60+ employees serving more than 17,000 customers (as of 2024). In 2022 they became part of the team.blue group, which gives them the backing of a larger European hosting group while still operating under the Raidboxes brand from Germany. They also have a strong sustainability and culture focus: they are a certified B Corporation, align with common good economy standards, and build a lot of their positioning around ethical, environmentally conscious hosting.

The core of the product portfolio is managed WordPress hosting in several tiers, from small blogs up to high-traffic enterprise projects and large shops:
  • Entry and mid-range "Box" plans such as Mini, Starter and Fully Managed target small and medium WordPress sites, blogs and simple company pages. These already include SSD storage, integrated caching, daily automatic backups, free SSL, staging, and access via SFTP, SSH (with WP-CLI and Git) and database tools.
  • Higher plans such as Pro, Pro XL, Business, Business XL, Business XXL, Enterprise and Enterprise XL increase the number of dedicated vCores (up to 36 vCores) and RAM (up to 64 GB), plus larger SSD quotas. These are meant for heavier WooCommerce shops, magazines, portals and high-traffic sites, with dedicated CPU on many tiers, advanced caching and options like the Dynamic+ add-on (Redis object cache + extended Varnish cache).
  • There is a strong focus on high-traffic WordPress and WooCommerce hosting: the platform highlights vServer technology, server-side caching, "Performance Burst" for short-term traffic spikes, and specific tuning for shops and dynamic sites, including DDoS protection, WAF, exploit detection and a "Security Shield" that continuously filters malicious traffic and vulnerable requests.

Beyond the hosting itself, they offer WordPress-centric supporting services:
  • Email hosting: three plans (Mail Mini, Starter, Pro) with 3–25 mailboxes and 3–25 GB storage, IMAP, spam and virus filtering, optional PGP encryption, SSL/TLS transport and ad-free mailboxes. Mail servers are located in Germany, with redundant mail infrastructure and daily backups.
  • Domain registration & management: WordPress-oriented domain buying and transfer, with a domain checker integrated into the site and pricing starting at roughly €1 per month for popular TLDs like .de, .com or .at, billed annually.
  • Add-ons and tools like extra SSD storage, additional staging environments with independent backups, Performance+ by FastPixel, and the AI Site Assistant / AI website builder for faster WordPress project setup.
  • A partner & reseller ecosystem focused on agencies and freelancers: bulk discounts (up to around 40% for multiple sites), an agency-oriented WordPress dashboard, partner program and affiliate options. This is more of a WordPress reseller/agency model than a classic WHM reseller hosting product, but functionally it fills a similar role for WordPress professionals.

A major part of their identity is "Green WordPress hosting". All infrastructure is operated with 100% renewable electricity (hydropower / green energy), they plant a tree for every hosted website through Eden Reforestation projects, and they invest in additional CO₂ offset initiatives in cooperation with Greenspark. The datacenter stack is described as climate-neutral and certified under multiple environmental and security standards (ISO 14001, 22301, 27001, 50001, PCI DSS, SOC 2 Type II). This makes Raidboxes particularly interesting for agencies, NGOs, and companies that explicitly care about sustainability and want a "green" supplier in their digital stack.

In previous years, RAIDBOXES maintained a broader set of website localizations (for example, French, Dutch, and Italian). At present, they appear to offer only German and English, indicating a narrowing of their multilingual footprint.

This reduction can reasonably be interpreted as a strategic consolidation of localization efforts—i.e., concentrating resources on the languages most closely aligned with their core demand and operational priorities. While it may reflect a pragmatic focus on essential markets, it also implies a lower emphasis on actively courting customers through additional country-specific language experiences.

Overall, the platform is closer to a vertical WordPress cloud than to a generalist web host. For users who specifically run WordPress or WooCommerce, that specialisation translates into a tight tooling ecosystem (staging, cloning, templates, WP-CLI, Git, integrated backups and caching) and a support team that deals with WordPress all day long. For anyone needing other stacks (custom PHP apps, Node, email-only hosting, Windows, VPS with root control, colocation etc.), Raidboxes is not the right fit – this is intentionally WordPress-only hosting.
