RackForest is an independent Hungarian hosting, cloud, and data-center infrastructure provider founded in 2013 by Atiyeh Nabil and Angeli János. Nabil remains the company’s CEO and owner, while Angeli leads network and infrastructure operations. Both founders entered the business with considerable industry experience: Nabil previously managed hosting operations within the Docler group, while Angeli had worked with Hungarian internet service providers since 1998 and participated in the construction and development of several data centers.

RackForest grew from a small server-hosting business into one of Hungary’s larger independent infrastructure providers. It became a privately held joint-stock company, or Zrt., in 2022. By 2024, the company had more than 14,000 customers, 47,000 active services, 8,000 servers, 154 racks, and approximately 40 employees. Its customer base reached around 16,000 by late 2025. The business remains under local ownership rather than belonging to a large multinational hosting group.

Its extensive catalog includes domain registration, Linux shared hosting, premium hosting, reseller hosting, Linux VPS, Windows VPS, AMD VPS, hourly cloud servers, dedicated servers, colocation, managed servers, backup storage, Veeam backup, business email, software licensing, Kubernetes, OpenStack, private cloud infrastructure, DDoS protection, load balancing, monitoring, VPN connectivity, and live or on-demand streaming. Customers can begin with a basic website or virtual server and later move to dedicated, managed, or geographically redundant infrastructure without migrating to another provider.

Cloud servers run on AMD EPYC DDR5 NVMe and Intel Xeon Gold platforms connected through 10 Gbps networking. Instances can be managed through an API-enabled control environment and are billed by the hour, while the monthly package price functions as the maximum charge when the configuration remains unchanged. Private networks can be created between instances, and packages include at least 30 TB of traffic, weekly backups, DDoS protection, and continuous cloud support.

The cloud platform is concentrated in Budapest rather than distributed across numerous international regions. It is therefore best suited to Hungarian and Central European websites, applications, business systems, and development environments requiring low regional latency.

The standard VPS range includes Linux virtual servers based on KVM and Windows servers using Microsoft Hyper-V. Linux plans operate on Intel Xeon Gold infrastructure, while the premium line uses AMD EPYC 9354P processors, DDR5 memory, and enterprise NVMe U.3 storage. Root access, one IPv4 address, optional IPv6 allocation, weekly backup, and DDoS protection are included.

Linux VPS packages receive a 10 Gbps network port with 2 Gbps guaranteed bandwidth, while Windows plans receive a 10 Gbps port with 1 Gbps guaranteed. Additional memory, storage, vCores, IP addresses, private VLANs, load balancers, monitoring services, and backup FTP capacity can be ordered separately.

Shared web hosting is based on cPanel, CloudLinux, NVMe storage, AMD Ryzen processors, and DDR5 memory. Packages include professional email, automatic SSL certificates, daily backups, spam filtering, MySQL databases, selectable PHP versions, and Softaculous application installation. The smallest package is appropriate for a basic personal or business website, while the larger plans support multiple domains and considerably more storage.

Several older PHP versions remain available alongside current branches. This may help customers operating legacy applications, although new websites should use a currently supported PHP release for better security and compatibility.

Premium web hosting limits each server to no more than 12 customer accounts and allocates guaranteed processor and memory resources. Dedicated IP addresses, SSL certificates, daily backups, NVMe storage, and higher resource limits make these packages a practical middle ground between ordinary shared hosting and a self-managed VPS. They are especially suitable for active WordPress websites, online stores, and business applications whose owners do not want to manage an operating system.

The reseller hosting service uses cPanel and CloudLinux and supports account-level management and overselling. Separate reseller arrangements are also available for VPS services and domain names, with discounts linked to monthly commitments or sales volume. This structure is useful for Hungarian developers, agencies, and IT businesses that want to provide hosting under their own customer relationships without maintaining server infrastructure.

Domain services cover Hungarian and international extensions, with DNS management included. RackForest is particularly useful for .hu registrations, although common international extensions such as .com, .eu, .net, and .org are available. Customers managing more than 50 domains can request individual commercial terms.

Dedicated server rental includes the physical server, server hosting, remote management access, DDoS protection, and hardware replacement within two hours. Configurations range from affordable Intel Xeon E3 systems to considerably more powerful AMD EPYC servers with DDR5 memory, enterprise storage, and 10 Gbps connectivity.

Dedicated servers can be rented under indefinite contracts without the surcharge commonly associated with short commitments. This offers more flexibility to businesses whose capacity requirements may change.

Customers with their own hardware can use colocation at any of the three Budapest locations. Services are available by rack unit, complete cabinet, or custom installation. Options include 1 to 10 Gbps network connections, IP console access, private VLANs, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, VPN connectivity, 24-hour physical access, and continuous fault reporting.

Complex systems can be distributed between the three locations to create geographic redundancy and disaster-recovery arrangements within Budapest. This is valuable for companies that need separate production, replication, backup, or failover environments while keeping their infrastructure in Hungary.

Managed services include operating-system installation, security updates, monitoring, LAMP environments, cPanel or ISPConfig administration, high-availability clusters, VMware systems, OpenStack environments, Kubernetes platforms, and custom enterprise infrastructure. RackForest is therefore considerably more suitable for businesses without an internal systems-administration team than a provider limited to unmanaged server rental.

The backup portfolio includes backup FTP storage and three Veeam service models. Protection can cover complete physical or virtual machines, individual files and directories, or supported applications such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Shared backup environments are managed through technical support, while dedicated Veeam environments provide customers with direct restoration access.

MariaDB application-level restoration is excluded, although full-machine or file-level backup can still protect systems running MariaDB.

Managed Kubernetes and OpenStack services cover architecture, installation, configuration, and ongoing administration. Kubernetes is intended for containerized applications and microservice environments, while OpenStack supports private and public cloud deployments. These are custom engineering services rather than standardized entry-level packages.

Software rental is available through Microsoft SPLA licensing for Windows Server, SQL Server, Remote Desktop Services, Exchange, Office, SharePoint, and System Center. cPanel, JetBackup, Imunify360, and CloudLinux licenses can also be rented for compatible VPS and dedicated servers. Monthly licensing reduces initial software expenditure and allows capacity to be adjusted as the number of users, cores, or servers changes.

Streaming services support live and on-demand video or audio for conferences, sporting events, online radio, training sessions, and corporate broadcasts. Capacity is calculated according to resolution, program duration, expected traffic, and the number of simultaneous viewers. Delivery is compatible with Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices.

The main RackForest website is available in Hungarian, while the customer and ordering portal supports Hungarian, English, and Arabic. International customers can therefore order and manage services in English, although the complete corporate and technical content is not translated. Prices are primarily displayed in Hungarian forints.

The website uses a traditional, information-dense design with long product tables. It remains functional, but the structure is less streamlined than a modern multilingual hosting storefront and requires more navigation on smaller screens.
