📄 Editorial Review
Quicca is a Japanese shared web hosting brand operated by Mfro Inc. (mfro.net), a Tokyo Internet company established in 2004 by founder and CEO Yosuke Kitawaki. Mfro has ¥50 million in capital, approximately 50 employees, and Japanese telecommunications registration A-21-10524. Its wider business includes server hosting, server housing, domain registration, software development, online media, and digital marketing. The original Quicca shared hosting platform has moved into legacy status. Existing accounts continue to operate, but new hosting orders are directed to Quicca Plus (quicca-plus.com), the newer WordPress-oriented platform. New Quicca IDs can still be created for account administration and related Mfro services.
Legacy Quicca was built around affordable Japanese shared hosting with a broad set of conventional features. Its Light, Standard, and Premium packages included multiple-domain support, email hosting, MySQL databases, PHP, Perl, WordPress and CMS installation tools, free SSL, CRON jobs, FTP access, backups, and cPanel. Premium accounts received lower-density server placement, daily backups with seven retained copies, unlimited databases and email accounts, and optional dedicated IP functionality. Dedicated SSL ordering has ended, while shared SSL remains available.
Quicca Plus uses a more streamlined hosting environment focused heavily on WordPress. Its platform combines Nginx, PHP, MySQL, HTTP/2, free SSL, email hosting, CRON, FTP, phpMyAdmin, and automated WordPress installation. WordPress can be installed without manually creating a database or entering database connection details. Customers can also select commonly used themes and plugins during setup.
The Quicca Plus control environment provides direct WordPress administrator access, HTTPS redirection, wp-config.php-related settings, custom error handling, FTP administration, database access, and custom Nginx directives. This makes the service accessible to beginners while still offering a limited degree of configuration for more experienced users.
The active hosting range consists of Entry, Light, Standard, and individually arranged Premium or Dedicated environments. Entry is intended for one small website, while Light supports several independent websites. Standard adds more storage, email capacity, domains, and databases. Premium and dedicated configurations are handled through direct consultation for projects with larger resource requirements.
Mfro also operates IQ SERVER, a specialized distributed-IP hosting service. It provides more than 1,400 overseas IP addresses and approximately 500 Japanese IP addresses distributed across different Class C ranges. Standard packages contain ten IP addresses, while smaller packages contain three. Each address can host a separate domain and includes web space, email, FTP, MySQL, free SSL, and WordPress support. This service is primarily suited to customers operating large collections of independent websites rather than conventional corporate hosting.
Domain services are available through Q Domain (quedomain.com). Mfro is an ICANN-accredited registrar, and the service covers domain registration, renewal, transfers, DNS management, WHOIS privacy, URL forwarding, bulk administration, and expired or previously owned domains. Domain and hosting contracts remain separate, so their renewal dates must be managed independently.
The original Quicca account interface has an older design with dense navigation and several interconnected account systems. Quicca Plus is cleaner and more focused, although some of its published platform specifications remain dated. The listed environment still includes PHP 7.4, Nginx 1.18.0, and CentOS 7. PHP 7.4 and CentOS 7 have both reached end of life, making it important to confirm the actual production software versions before deploying a new WordPress installation or custom application.
Quicca and Quicca Plus are intended mainly for the Japanese market. Hosting administration, manuals, customer communication, support forms, and legal documentation are primarily in Japanese, while prices are denominated in Japanese yen. Mfro maintains an English corporate profile, but the hosting services do not provide a complete English-language storefront or support environment.
