📄 Editorial Review
Probe Networks is a German infrastructure provider operated by Jonas Frey from Merzig, Germany. The company has operated since 2002, beginning with colocation services in Frankfurt and later expanding its infrastructure reach to Amsterdam, London, Brussels/Luxembourg and additional Frankfurt locations. This is not a typical shared hosting provider for small personal websites. Probe Networks is better understood as an infrastructure and network-focused company, with services built around Dedicated Servers, Managed Servers, Colocation, IP Transit, BGP Connectivity, Remote Hands, Consulting, Server Administration and SLA-backed technical operations.
Their Maximum Performance Servers are dedicated server solutions assembled and tested by Probe Networks, with configurable hardware, root access, IPv4/IPv6 blocks, Linux/BSD support, optional Windows Server, traffic packages or flat-rate traffic, monitoring, remote reboot/IP KVM options and Plesk as the main server management frontend. These servers are best suited for customers that need dedicated hardware rather than a low-cost shared hosting environment.
Their Managed Servers add a stronger operational layer, including 24x7 monitoring, proactive incident response, IDS/IDP protection, firewall rules on request, external logs, daily backups and priority support. This makes the managed line more appropriate for businesses that need dedicated infrastructure but do not want to handle every system administration task internally.
Probe Networks also offers Colocation, from 10U housing to half racks, full racks, cages and private-suite style deployments. Customers can use facilities in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London, Paris and Luxembourg, with redundant power, Gigabit/10 Gigabit connectivity, optional 100 Gigabit, IPv4/IPv6 space, traffic monitoring, 24x7 access and remote-hands services.
The network side is an important strength. IP Connectivity & Transit services include virtual circuits or leased lines, Ethernet speeds from 100 Mbit/s up to 100 Gbit/s, full BGP tables, BGP communities, native IPv6, traffic monitoring, blackholing for DDoS mitigation, optional AS registration, IP space provisioning and router rental. Network operations run under AS29686.
The company works with both English and German website content. The web presence has an older, legacy design, with traditional product tables and a less modern interface than newer cloud-first competitors. That traditional presentation fits the company’s infrastructure-oriented profile, but customers looking for instant VPS deployment, a polished cloud marketplace or a fully automated modern dashboard may find the experience too conservative.
