📄 Editorial Review

Porta 80 Web Hosting is a Brazilian hosting and Internet-services company founded in 2003 and based in São Paulo. Its business focuses mainly on small and medium-sized companies, with a portfolio extending well beyond conventional shared hosting. Services include shared hosting, cloud servers, dedicated servers, colocation, reseller hosting, corporate email, email marketing, domain registration, online backup, VoIP/PBX and streaming. Porta 80 also operates its own network under AS53060, giving it greater control over connectivity than providers working entirely through third-party hosting infrastructure.

Shared hosting is available for Linux and Windows environments. The four plans include 2 GB to 15 GB of website storage, 100 GB to 500 GB monthly traffic, unlimited hosted domains and unlimited email accounts, with aggregate email capacity ranging from 10 GB to 100 GB. Database support includes MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Access, depending on the package, while supported development technologies include ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, Tomcat and ColdFusion. Website migration and hosting-plan upgrades are available without an additional migration fee. Shared hosting carries a 99.5% minimum uptime figure and daily server backups.

Cloud Servers provide a flexible alternative to fixed VPS packages. Configurations range from 1 to 4 vCPU, 1 GB to 32 GB RAM, 50 GB to 1,000 GB disk capacity and 100 GB to 10,000 GB data transfer. Public and private cloud environments are available, while server administration can be handled without a control panel, through Webmin, or with cPanel. Daily backup is included.

Dedicated Servers use Dell hardware and combine the physical server with management services. Standard configurations range from 2 GB to 16 GB RAM, use SATA or SAS storage, and include connections ranging from 6 Mbps to 20 Mbps. Management covers DNS, security updates, daily backups, performance tuning and technical assistance through email, chat and telephone. Dedicated hosting has a 99.8% minimum uptime commitment. Additional resources include extra IP addresses, RAM, disks, SonicWall firewall services, Microsoft SQL Server licensing and ColdFusion.

Colocation is aimed at businesses requiring customized datacenter services together with system administration. Besides rack infrastructure and connectivity, managed assistance can include security updates, risk analysis, hardware and software upgrade planning, performance tuning and daily backups. This makes the service useful for companies that want operational assistance rather than only physical rack space.

Linux Reseller Hosting is available in four levels with 20 GB to 200 GB storage, 512 MB to 8 GB RAM and 200 GB to 2,000 GB monthly transfer. The plans allow unlimited domains and include DNS management, multi-user FTP, customer administration, a Portuguese reseller interface, Webalizer and AWStats statistics, unlimited MySQL and PostgreSQL databases and email hosting. Availability for reseller hosting is above 99.9%.

Corporate email is also available independently from website hosting. Packages provide 20 GB to 250 GB total storage, unlimited mailboxes, POP, IMAP and SMTP access, antivirus, antispam, shared calendars, shared contacts and Portuguese-language webmail. Individual mailbox capacity reaches 5 GB on the smaller packages and 10 GB on the largest plan.

The Email Marketing platform is designed for higher-volume commercial campaigns, with packages supporting up to 100,000, 500,000 or 1,000,000 messages per month. Features include dedicated sending IP addresses and domains, campaign scheduling, mailing-list administration, delivery statistics, read statistics, link tracking and automated actions following message delivery.

Domain registration is complemented by configurable online backup and storage services. Porta 80 also provides VoIP/PBX packages ranging from small-office systems to installations supporting as many as 1,000 extensions. PBX functionality includes voicemail, follow-me, conference calling, IVR and internal calls between extensions. Local Brazilian access numbers are available in more than 200 cities.

Windows Media and Adobe Flash Media streaming are still part of the service catalog. These technologies belong to an earlier generation of Internet streaming, and several other technical specifications also reflect older server environments, including Windows Server 2008 R2, CentOS 5/6, PHP 4.4/5.3 and older ColdFusion releases. Customers ordering a new service should therefore confirm the current operating-system versions, software stack and hardware specifications appropriate to their project.

The website operates primarily in Portuguese, with prices listed in Brazilian reais (BRL / R$). No English-language version exists. Its interface also follows an older hosting-site design rather than the responsive storefront style commonly used by newer providers.
