📄 Editorial Review
PAC Web Hosting is an independent British hosting provider operated by PAC WEBHOSTING LTD, an active private company incorporated on April 20, 2007. Founded by Paul Nesbitt, the company is based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, and operates with a small team of approximately 2–10 employees. Its long history makes it an established regional provider rather than a recently launched hosting brand. The service portfolio covers UK Shared Hosting, Managed Cloud VPS, Domain Registration, SSL Certificates, Website Builder, email hosting, DNS management, migrations and related technical support. Linux, cPanel and WordPress form the core of the hosting environment. Windows hosting is not part of the current range.
The shared hosting range consists of four environmentally focused plans. Green Entry includes 1 CPU, 1 GB RAM, 5 GB of NVMe storage, 10 GB of monthly transfer, 20 email accounts and support for as many as five websites. Green Starter raises the allocation to 2 CPUs, 2 GB RAM, 10 GB of NVMe storage, 40 email accounts and ten websites. Green Business provides 3 CPUs, 3 GB RAM, 20 GB of NVMe storage, 80 email accounts and room for 20 websites. Green Business+ includes 4 CPUs, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB of NVMe storage, unlimited websites and unlimited email accounts.
Green Starter, Green Business and Green Business+ include unlimited data transfer, while Green Entry retains its 10 GB monthly allowance. Every plan uses LiteSpeed Enterprise and includes free SSL certificates, CloudLinux resource isolation, Imunify360 security, daily offsite backups and automated service failover. WordPress benefits from LiteSpeed caching and simplified installation, but customers are not restricted to WordPress and can host other PHP-based websites and applications through the same cPanel account.
Multiple websites can be managed under one account according to the limits of the chosen plan. The environment supports PHP, MySQL databases, email accounts, DNS tools and application installers such as Softaculous and Installatron. WordPress, Joomla, PrestaShop, AbanteCart, phpBB, MyBB and many other content management, e-commerce and forum applications can be installed without manual configuration. Node.js, Ruby and Python are also available for customers with more specialized development requirements.
Security is stronger than the basic protection included with many inexpensive shared hosting plans. Imunify360 provides malware scanning, firewall protection, web application filtering and automated threat blocking, while CloudLinux separates customer accounts and applies defined resource limits. DDoS mitigation combines local Corero filtering with upstream protection capable of absorbing attacks above 1 Tbps. Automated failover adds another layer of resilience by allowing services to move away from a failed server.
Daily offsite backups are retained for 28 days. Customers can restore complete hosting accounts or recover individual files and databases. An independent backup remains advisable for business-critical websites, particularly before major software upgrades or development work.
The section labeled Dedicated Hosting actually contains fully managed cloud VPS products rather than physical dedicated servers. Six performance levels are available, ranging from VPS-P1 through VPS-P6. The entry configuration begins with 2 virtual CPUs, 6 GB RAM and 50 GB of storage, with larger storage allocations available during ordering.
The managed VPS platform uses AMD EPYC processors, clustered NVMe storage, unlimited bandwidth, full root SSH access, WHM, CloudLinux, Imunify360 and cPanel. A cPanel Solo license is included initially, and additional account licenses can be added when the server begins hosting more cPanel users.
Storage remains independent from the physical compute host and is distributed across a triple-redundant NVMe cluster. A virtual server can be restarted on another host within minutes when a physical node fails. The platform also includes a hardware firewall and 2,000 Gbps automated DDoS protection, making it suitable for larger websites, online stores, agencies and customers that have outgrown shared hosting.
VPS management includes operating-system updates, security hardening, server monitoring and access to third-line engineers. Customers still retain root and WHM access, allowing experienced administrators to maintain direct control while PAC handles routine platform management. Managed migration is included for customers moving from another hosting provider.
The standard disaster recovery service creates one monthly backup of the complete virtual machine. This copy is intended for full-server recovery rather than routine restoration of individual files. Backup Pro adds one backup each day with 28 restore points, while Backup Premium creates six backups per day and retains 168 restore points across 28 days. Both upgraded services use offsite S3-compatible storage and allow more granular restoration of cPanel accounts, files and databases.
PAC also operates as a Nominet-accredited registrar under the IPS tag PACHOSTING. Domain-only customers receive DNS management, and the DNS platform uses four nameservers for improved redundancy. The registration range covers British extensions together with numerous generic and international domain extensions. Internationalized domains are supported across multiple scripts and languages.
The PAC Site Builder provides a separate option for customers who prefer not to use WordPress or write code. Its drag-and-drop editor includes more than 150 responsive templates, automatic saving, image optimization, stock photographs, blogging, forms, analytics, SEO tools and social-media integration. Websites can be designed under an open trial and paid for only when they are ready to be published.
The e-commerce editions add product management, discount coupons, stock control, tax rules, shipping calculations and integrations with PayPal, Square, Stripe and more than 50 other payment providers. Depending on the selected plan, the store can contain between ten and 500 products.
Environmental commitments are integrated directly into the hosting packages. Every Green hosting purchase contributes to tree planting and carbon offsetting after the initial 28-day refund period. PAC has planted more than 7,161 trees and offset over 141 tonnes of carbon. Monthly and annual subscriptions generate different contributions, while larger hosting packages support a greater number of trees.
The company website uses a contemporary responsive layout and works well on modern desktop and mobile screens. Product terminology could be clearer because the Dedicated Hosting category contains VPS products rather than dedicated physical servers. Some older plan-selection information also differs from the main hosting comparison, particularly around transfer allocations, so the final resource limits shown during checkout should be checked before payment.
