ORC Webhosting is a Swiss hosting provider with roots going back to 2002, giving the company more than two decades of experience in web hosting and domain services. The business developed around Swiss hosting, personal customer support, and relatively straightforward plans for websites, email, WordPress, and virtual servers.

A significant change took place in April 2025, when the long-time owner Silvio Mazenauer retired and ORC Webhosting was transferred to IPS Inc., a hosting company active since 1998. Existing customer server logins, email accounts, and access to the client area remained unchanged during the transition. The new ownership subsequently expanded the technical platform with Softaculous application management, JetBackup backups, ImunifyAV+ security, additional Level III technical support, and Roundcube webmail.

The current product range covers Shared Hosting, WordPress Hosting, Cloud VPS, Domains, Domain Transfers, Email, SSL Certificates, and Website Builder services. The main emphasis is on conventional Swiss web hosting and WordPress, complemented by self-managed virtual servers for customers needing more control over their environment.

The Easy Webhosting range is intended for smaller websites, email hosting, and relatively lightweight business projects. Easy 1 provides 1 GB SSD storage, one hosted domain, 10 databases, unlimited email accounts, unlimited traffic, free SSL, and the website builder. Easy 2, Easy 4, and Easy 6 progressively increase storage, supported domains, and database allowances. These are compact hosting packages rather than high-capacity storage plans, making them more appropriate for smaller company sites, landing pages, email, and personal projects.

Shared hosting uses cPanel and includes support for multiple PHP releases from PHP 7.4 through PHP 8.4, PHP-FPM, MariaDB 10.11, phpMyAdmin, FTP, HTTP/2, and free SSL certificates. Security includes Imunify360, ModSecurity, malware scanning, and server-side filtering. Softaculous simplifies installation of popular web applications, while website migration from another provider is available without an additional migration charge.

The WordPress Hosting range is substantially more capable. Start includes 10 GB NVMe storage and support for as many as 10 websites, while Pro increases storage to 50 GB, Business to 100 GB, and Ultimate to 200 GB. Larger plans also receive increased CPU and hosting resources.

WordPress accounts include Accelerate WP caching and PHP optimization, SoftWP management, SiteSEO Pro, Backuply Pro, staging, automatic security scans, object caching, SSH, Git, Node.js, and Python support. Website and email migration are included. CloudLinux isolation, Imunify360, DDoS protection, brute-force protection, and SpamExperts filtering provide additional protection around the hosting environment.

These WordPress and shared hosting services operate from Zug, Switzerland, making ORC particularly suitable for Swiss businesses and customers who prefer locally hosted websites. Free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates are included, while WordPress plans provide unlimited databases, unlimited email accounts, and unmetered traffic under normal hosting usage.

The SitePad Website Builder provides a browser-based alternative to WordPress. It includes drag-and-drop editing, more than 200 templates, responsive layouts, image editing, content blocks, contact forms, galleries, and integration with social networks. E-commerce functions allow customers to create an online shop and shopping cart without an additional transaction fee from ORC.

The Cloud VPS range is intended for customers comfortable administering their own server. The current platform uses Intel Xeon Gold and second-generation AMD EPYC processors together with NVMe storage configured in local RAID 10. Entry-level VPS configurations begin with 1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB NVMe storage, and 20 TB traffic, with larger configurations providing additional processor, memory, and storage resources.

Linux distributions available for VPS deployment include Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, and AlmaLinux, while Windows Server is also supported. cPanel can be ordered optionally. VPS backups are an additional service and, when enabled, run daily with seven available backup slots. Cloud VPS is primarily self-managed, with more extensive server administration available through paid Remote Hands assistance.

Domain registration remains an established part of ORC's business. New registrations, domain transfers, and WHOIS services are available for numerous Swiss and international extensions. Transfers generally use the standard EPP/Auth-code procedure, and a domain transfer can be combined with migration of an existing website.

The website supports multiple languages, including German, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Ukrainian across its main service and support areas. German remains the primary language, but the multilingual structure is useful for Switzerland's international and multilingual customer base.
