*📜 Plan description
This XL v3 storage-and-compute node is a converged expansion server for an existing cloud. It adds compute capacity and network storage together while leaving cloud management duties to the Cloud Core. The single-node hardware is dual Intel Xeon Scalable 6430, 64C/128T, 1TB RAM, 4x6.4TB Micron 7450 MAX NVMe, dual 10Gbit networking, 6Gbps public bandwidth, giving Intel Xeon Scalable 6430 192C/384T, 1000GB RAM, and roughly 25.60TB of raw local NVMe or SSD capacity before the wider cluster's storage policy is considered. Because these nodes are matched to the cloud hardware family, key capabilities such as VM live migration remain available while additional workloads and storage are brought online. Listed pricing for this node is $3.11 per hour, $74.64 per day, $522.48 for 7 days, $2239.20 on a 30-day term, $2071.26 with a 1-year term, $1925.71 with a 2-year term, $1791.36 with a 3-year term, $1612.22 with a 4-year term, and $1477.87 with a 5-year commitment. The calculator notes that long-term commitments reduce the monthly rate, that pricing is shown separately from optional assisted management charges, and that public IP space is ordered as its own add-on.
This node type expands an existing cloud by adding compute and network storage at the same time rather than handling the control plane itself. The design keeps the hardware aligned with the cloud so live migration and day-2 operations remain practical while the extra node focuses on workloads. Ordering, budgeting, billing, monitoring, documentation, IP leasing, and support are handled through the OpenMetal Central portal, which includes ticketing, 24/7 emergency support, and contact visibility for the assigned support team. Datadog hardware monitoring is included, standard OpenStack features do not introduce extra license fees, migration assistance and ramp pricing are available, optional assisted management on 1 to 5 year agreements carries an added $800 base fee plus per-box charges, public IP space is leased separately, egress follows OpenMetal's included-allotment and 95th percentile model, the base network SLA is 99.96%, DDoS protection is included, and capacity can be deployed in OpenMetal locations across the United States, the Netherlands, and Singapore.

📄 Editorial Review
OpenMetal (est. 2021) is a serious infrastructure provider built around open-source private cloud rather than low-end mass-market hosting. The business was originally created by InMotion Hosting, and the whole platform is shaped around giving customers a practical alternative to hyperscale public cloud bills. The leadership is visible, with Todd Robinson serving as co-founder and president, and the technical direction is clearly centered on making OpenStack and Ceph easier to consume in production without forcing customers to buy and maintain their own hardware. The product range is broader than a normal hosting company, but it remains focused on infrastructure, not shared hosting for simple websites. Their main catalog includes Hosted Private Cloud, On-Demand Private Cloud powered by OpenStack, Bare Metal Dedicated Servers, Ceph Storage Clusters, GPU Servers & Clusters, Cloud Expansion Nodes, Spot Hardware, and Managed / Assisted Private Cloud options. That makes the platform much more relevant for SaaS companies, cloud providers, MSPs, Kubernetes-heavy teams, storage-intensive projects, AI workloads, and organizations trying to move away from AWS, Azure, or GCP than for beginners who only need a basic cPanel account.
The strongest point is the architecture philosophy. OpenMetal gives customers full root access, production-ready deployment in about 45 seconds, dedicated hardware, and a cloud stack based on OpenStack + Ceph instead of proprietary lock-in. The core private cloud starts as a 3-node hyperconverged cluster, which is a meaningful difference from VPS-style products that start tiny and scale later. This also explains why OpenMetal feels more like an IaaS platform than a traditional hosting shop.
The website is essentially English-only, and pricing is shown in USD.
