😠 Network Solutions is a horrible company with even worse customer service and antiquated technology. Research all other reviews about it before considering doing business with it. Also, Network Solutions acquired my previous registrar provider. I never set up an account with Network Solutions, nor was I ever made privy to its acquisition of the previous registrar provider. When Network Solutions assumed my, it set up the account with an unknown email address. To change the account to reflect the correct account information, Network Solutions “had to send an email verification to the email address on file.” It did this despite 8 days of messages, emails, and telephone calls, all of which included extraordinary requirements of information, such as bank statements, and driver license. However, what Network Solutions did not disclose is that the extraordinary requirements had to be copied a certain way. When I did not comply with these unstated requirements, Network Solutions simply rejected all endeavors to correct the account information. This was all an endeavor of circular reasoning to obstruct access to the account. Without access to the account, there could be no changes to the account, including using another provider. Thus, according to the actions and inferences by Network Solutions I would have to stay with it forever. FAT CHANCE!
On day 6, I called Network Solutions about this issue and to demand that my account be unlocked and transferred out. I was transferred 7 times to people who could not be understood. Every times I spoke to a new person, that person would engage in a obviously rehearsed litany of reasons and horrors about why no one should ever consider dumping it. When that difficult to understand person’s efforts failed, I was transferred to another, who was even worse to understand. The hustle by Network Solutions became apparent-frustrated and obstruct the customer to wear him/her down into giving up. EVEN FATTER CHANCE!!!
On day 6, after speaking with 7-8 people, I was promised (on a recorded line) that my account would be unlocked and transferred out within 24 hours. That did not happen. On day 8, I used the “chat” function because I can read their words far better than I could ever understand. After 20 minutes of more obstruction and frustration, the person claimed I “purchased” a plan to lock me out of my own account for 60 days after making any requests whatsoever. (Note, I never purchased anything from Network Solutions). I demanded proof of this “purchased plan” and when the person could not produce it, he/she/it claimed “the account would be unlocked and code provided without 24-48 hours” even though I was already promised this same thing 32 hours ago. I even had to reference the “Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (ACPA).” I assume after Network Solutions realized I would not be hustled and obstructed any longer, it sent an “authorization code” that DID NOT WORK. So, I had to spend another 15-25 minutes going through this mess to get a valid authorization code. All of this because Network Solutions was too obtuse to allow me to update my account that I never purchased from them.
After 8 days of lies and broken promises, I moved to another provider. I was told (after 2 tries) the account was transferring, but it will take a week. I have a feeling that Network Solutions may attempted to obstruct it again. I will revise this review if it does. Otherwise, avoid this clown unless you want to be obstructed and frustrated for 8 days.
