MTW.RU is a long-established Russian hosting and data-center provider with operations dating back to 1998. Over the years, the company has moved well beyond conventional shared hosting and developed a much broader infrastructure business covering cloud VDS, dedicated-resource VDS, colocation, corporate hosting, server administration, SSL certificates, email, domains and data-center services.

Its early development included proprietary mass-hosting technologies, an in-house hosting control panel, distributed email systems, HTTP load balancing and DDoS-protection mechanisms. The mt.ru domain appeared in February 1999, while the Bunker data center became operational in 2009. MTW has served more than 500,000 customers and subscribers during its history and has handled more than one million IT-related requests.

The hosting operation is associated with ООО «МТВ.РУ» and ООО «МедиаСофт эксперт». ООО «МТВ.РУ» was registered on April 28, 2008, while the hosting business itself is considerably older. Vadim Vladimirovich Frolov and Dmitry Alexandrovich Lukyanov are associated with ownership of ООО «МТВ.РУ», with respective interests of 85% and 15%.

One of MTW’s main services is Cloud VDS, using KVM virtualization. Customers can install Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, FreeBSD and Windows, as well as boot their own ISO images. Ready environments include LAMP, WordPress, Docker, ISPmanager, Plesk, 1C-Bitrix and MikroTik CHR. Every virtual server includes an IPv4 address, network connectivity and access through an online virtual console.

The VDS management environment provides server rebooting and reinstallation, snapshots, backups and downloadable backup copies. Windows activation is available separately for customers requiring Microsoft licensing.

Dedicated VDS provides reserved CPU and RAM resources for applications requiring more predictable performance. These virtual servers use NVMe storage and support Linux, Windows and BSD operating systems. Backup and snapshot functions are included, while network connectivity can reach up to 10 Gbps. This service is particularly suitable for databases, corporate applications and continuously loaded web systems that need guaranteed resources without moving to a physical dedicated server.

Colocation is another major part of MTW’s business. Customers can install equipment ranging from individual 1U servers to complete 42U racks. The service includes IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity, Ethernet networking and power, while additional ports, IP addresses and higher-speed network connections are available when needed. Servers equipped with two power supplies can use independent power feeds, while ATS solutions are available for equipment with only one PSU.

Basic remote-hands operations are included with colocation, including server rebooting, IP-KVM access and straightforward physical tasks. This is useful for customers operating their own hardware without maintaining permanent staff at the data center.

Traditional Unix/Linux shared hosting remains available, although MTW is now much more oriented toward infrastructure and corporate hosting than budget mass-market shared hosting. The Corporate+ environment includes PHP, MySQL, email and SSD storage, along with unlimited MySQL databases, users and mailboxes. Customers manage these services through MTW’s proprietary hosting control panel.

Windows ASP.NET hosting is also available for customers maintaining Microsoft-based applications. These packages support ASP.NET, Microsoft SQL Server and email hosting, making them useful for older or specialized Windows applications that do not require a full Windows VDS.

Dedicated physical server services remain part of MTW’s infrastructure portfolio, although availability and individual configurations may vary. Customers requiring bare-metal systems can arrange hardware and deployment details directly with the company.

Additional services include SSL certificates, mail services and domain registration. Free Let’s Encrypt certificates are supported, together with commercial AlphaSSL and Sectigo certificates. Domain registration is handled through RU-CENTER, while current domain pricing is available through MTW’s customer billing environment.

Managed server administration is available for customers who prefer to delegate operating-system and application maintenance. This can include installation of a web environment, system maintenance, monitoring, daily website and database backups and round-the-clock technical assistance.

MTW also supports environments built around technologies such as LAMP, nginx, Ruby on Rails, ISPmanager, Plesk and cPanel. This gives customers considerable freedom to combine MTW’s infrastructure management with third-party hosting software.

The website is primarily available in Russian, and no multi-language/localized version exists. Services are priced in Russian rubles (RUB). Some traditional hosting sections retain an older visual structure, while the infrastructure and data-center sections are considerably more modern.
