Misk.com is an American domain registrar and web-services provider founded in 1998 by Nitin Agarwal, who remains Founder and CEO. The company began operating in May 1998, introduced an automated domain-registration service under the RegisterSite.com name in May 2000, and switched to the Misk.com identity in July 2005. It is based in Seattle, Washington, and operates as a privately held business with a relatively small team.

Misk is an ICANN-accredited registrar with IANA ID 401, while Canadian .ca registrations are handled through Misk.com Canada, Inc., a wholly owned affiliate certified by CIRA. The company has concentrated on domain registration and closely related Internet services rather than expanding into VPS, cloud servers or dedicated hosting.

Its main services cover Domain Registration, Domain Essentials, DNS management, static website hosting and hosted email. Domain registration is available for extensions including .com, .co, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .me, .us, .ca, .uk and .eu. Depending on the registry, domains can generally be registered for multiple years, with many extensions supporting terms of up to ten years.

Domain management includes nameserver changes, ownership management, expiration controls, domain forwarding, masking and bulk administration. DNS management supports A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV and NS records, along with IPv6, configurable TTL values, wildcard records, subdomains, forwarding and masking. This provides enough flexibility for domains connected to third-party web servers, mail systems, SaaS platforms and other external services.

The included web hosting is designed specifically for static websites. Each Domain Essentials subscription provides 100 MB of web space, FTP access and automatically managed SSL certificates. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, video and other static files can be hosted, while custom 404 pages and server-side mail forms are also supported.

PHP, ASP.NET, databases and other server-side application environments are not included. WordPress, Joomla, database-driven stores and similar applications therefore require a separate hosting provider. Storage is also fixed at 100 MB, making the service best suited to company profiles, portfolios, landing pages and other compact static websites.

Static website files are replicated across multiple servers and data-center locations. HTTP compression, browser caching and automatic HTTPS are integrated into the platform, giving relatively small websites a straightforward hosting environment without requiring customers to manage server software or SSL certificate renewals.

Email is available both through Domain Essentials and as separate Upgraded Email packages. Domain Essentials supports as many as 100 email addresses, with 20 MB of storage per mailbox and a 5 MB message and attachment limit. Forwarding, catch-all addresses, spam filtering, virus filtering, POP3 and webmail are included.

Upgraded Email raises mailbox capacity to 250 MB and allows attachments of up to 100 MB. Email Lite includes one mailbox, Email Pro includes five and Email Plus includes ten. Misk runs its own email software and maintains outbound-mail reputation through spam controls, virus filtering and blacklist monitoring. IMAP and automatic vacation responders are not part of the standard email environment.

The company serves more than 55,000 websites. Its services and account interface are primarily aimed at English-speaking customers, with product pricing displayed in USD.
