MDDHosting is an independent American web hosting provider founded in 2007 by Michael Denney. The company remains privately owned by its founder and has avoided the large-scale corporate acquisitions that have reshaped much of the shared hosting market. MDDHosting LLC is registered in Indiana, while its hosting infrastructure operates from Denver, Colorado.

Michael Denney had planned to create a hosting company since 1998 and eventually launched MDDHosting from a reseller hosting account in 2007. The business later used infrastructure at The Planet and SoftLayer before moving to its own colocated server hardware at the end of 2010. MDDHosting now hosts more than 36,700 domains and concentrates mainly on managed cPanel hosting, reseller solutions, and VPS services.

The main hosting range includes Shared Cloud Hosting, higher-performance Plaid and Plaid Plus Semi-Dedicated Hosting, Reseller Hosting, VPS, domain registration, SSL certificates, and incoming email filtering.

The Basic shared hosting plan includes 5 GB of SSD storage, two CPU cores, 2 GB of memory, one primary domain, five subdomains, five email accounts, unlimited bandwidth, and daily off-site backups. It is primarily suitable for personal websites, small company pages, portfolios, and lightweight WordPress installations.

Turbo hosting increases the available SSD storage to 25 GB and supports unlimited hosted domains, subdomains, and email accounts. It retains two CPU cores and 2 GB of memory, making it a practical option for customers managing several moderate-traffic websites from one account.

Plaid hosting uses AMD EPYC processors and NVMe storage. It includes 50 GB of storage, four CPU cores, 4 GB of memory, and backups every six hours. Plaid Plus expands the allocation to 100 GB of NVMe storage, eight CPU cores, and 8 GB of memory, together with higher inode, process, and account resource limits.

Plaid and Plaid Plus are also categorized as Semi-Dedicated Hosting. These plans remain part of a shared hosting environment, but they provide substantially more processing power, memory, storage performance, and concurrent process capacity than standard shared packages. They are appropriate for busy WordPress websites, online stores, community platforms, membership websites, and other projects that have outgrown conventional shared hosting but do not yet require full VPS administration.

Shared and semi-dedicated hosting includes free SSL certificates, free cPanel migrations, LiteSpeed web serving, WordPress optimization, malware protection, Softaculous application installation, Redis, Memcached, and self-service backup restoration. Bandwidth is unmetered, although normal resource limits and acceptable-use requirements continue to apply.

Reseller Hosting is available with both Turbo SSD and Plaid NVMe infrastructure. Customers can choose between fixed-resource reseller plans and elastic configurations that expand according to actual usage.

Fixed Turbo reseller packages start with 10 cPanel accounts and scale to 30 accounts. Plaid reseller plans support between 25 and 75 cPanel accounts, depending on the selected package. The service includes cPanel and WHM, private nameservers, white-label server identification, account-level resource isolation, free SSL certificates, daily off-site backups, free cPanel migrations, and outbound email filtering. WHMCS licensing is available as an optional addition.

Elastic reseller hosting begins with an included allocation of cPanel accounts, storage, and bandwidth. Additional resources are billed as they are consumed, allowing smaller resellers to begin with a lower base cost and expand without immediately moving to a larger fixed package.

Reseller customers provide first-line support to their own clients. MDDHosting supports the reseller account holder rather than communicating directly with every end user hosted under the reseller account.

The VPS range is based on highly available OpenVZ virtualization. Entry-level configurations include two CPU cores, 2 GB of memory, 25 GB of storage, and 1 TB of bandwidth. Larger plans provide up to six CPU cores, 6 GB of memory, 75 GB of storage, and 5 TB of monthly bandwidth.

Each VPS includes full root access, two IP addresses, a 1 Gbps network connection, daily off-site backups, and SolusVM management. VPS services are unmanaged by default. Server management, cPanel and WHM, LiteSpeed, Softaculous, and additional IP addresses can be purchased separately.

VPS provisioning is handled manually and may require up to one business day. This is slower than the instant automated deployment available from many large cloud platforms, but it allows the company to review and configure each service before activation.

MDDHosting also provides domain registration across hundreds of generic and country-code extensions. Internationalized domain names are supported in numerous writing systems. The hosting environment, customer area, documentation, and support are primarily available in English, while products are billed in US dollars.

Incoming email filtering is sold as a separate per-domain service. It includes spam filtering, virus filtering, quarantine management, and temporary email continuity when the destination mail server becomes unavailable.

Paid SSL certificates are also available, including domain-validated, organization-validated, wildcard, and extended-validation certificates. Most hosting customers will not require a paid certificate because free automatically issued SSL certificates are already included with the principal hosting packages.

Older areas of the company documentation still contain references to dedicated servers and discontinued hosting packages. Dedicated servers are no longer a central part of the active product range, with the current focus remaining on shared cloud hosting, semi-dedicated hosting, reseller accounts, and virtual servers.

MDDHosting experienced a major infrastructure incident in September 2018 when an incorrect storage administration command destroyed customer data and resulted in an extended recovery operation lasting approximately 96 hours. The company subsequently introduced automated snapshot-age monitoring, backup-restoration performance checks, and regular disaster-recovery testing. These changes strengthened the backup and recovery procedures surrounding the distributed storage environment.

The main company and product areas use a clean and functional design, while portions of the customer portal and knowledge base retain a more traditional WHMCS appearance. Some account charges, especially elastic reseller resource fees, should be checked carefully in the final shopping cart before completing an order.
