Maxer is an Irish web hosting and domain-registration company founded in 2006, with operations centered around Dublin and Belfast and additional business activity in Australia. Peter Armstrong is the owner and long-serving director. Maxer Host Limited was incorporated in Northern Ireland on March 22, 2007, while the team’s experience in web hosting dates back to 1998. The company has an estimated 11–50 employees.

The business operated for many years as Spiral Hosting before changing its name to Maxer on October 31, 2022. The new identity followed the acquisition of MaxterHost (maxterhost.com) in Germany and brought its international operations under a shorter and more recognizable brand.

Maxer expanded through several acquisitions, including Wupav Hosting, JSWeb Hosting, SpeedySparrow in Australia, Aventure Host and Eideashop Hosting. The company also acquired The Hosting Pool on December 26, 2025, with customer accounts and technical infrastructure transferred to the Maxer network at the beginning of 2026.

Storage ranges from 10 GB to 30 GB, while monthly bandwidth ranges from 100 GB to 300 GB.

Enterprise hosting provides more processing capacity for business websites, online stores and applications that require increased PHP memory and database resources. These packages use SSD storage and include larger resource allocations, malware protection, automatic SSL, WordPress tools, email hosting and daily backup retention. This service provides a practical upgrade path for customers who need more power than shared hosting without moving directly to a VPS.

Reseller hosting uses white-label cPanel and WHM accounts. Web designers, consultants and agencies can create separate customer accounts, define hosting packages, use their own branding and establish their own retail prices. Packages support between 10 and 60 cPanel accounts, with up to 120 GB of storage and 600 GB of monthly bandwidth.

Dublin colocation is available from individual 1U and 2U server allocations through larger rack areas, full cabinets and private suites. Managed firewalls, backups, replication and technical assistance can also be included.

The domain-registration service covers hundreds of country-code and generic extensions, including .ie, .uk, .com.au, .au, .ca, .eu, .us, .com, .net and .org. Maxer is accredited for both .IE and .EU registrations and operates as a Nominet channel partner for .UK domain names. Selected annual hosting packages include a free domain registration or transfer during the first year.

Security products include domain-validated, organization-validated, extended-validation and wildcard SSL certificates. Customers can also add dedicated IP addresses, malware scanning, vulnerability protection, automatic website backups and emergency website-cleaning services.

The service catalog extends beyond conventional hosting. Additional products include professional email, collaboration tools, inbound and outbound spam filtering, email archiving, website builders, SEO tools, keyword tracking, server monitoring, website backups and VPN subscriptions. The VPN option is supplied through NordVPN.

Professional email uses the OX App Suite platform, including mailbox, calendar, contacts, tasks and file-management functions. Separate filtering services protect incoming and outgoing email, while archiving packages support organizations that require longer message-retention periods.

The website builder supports simple one-page sites, standard business websites and online stores with catalogs ranging from 10 to 500 products. SEO services include entry-level optimization assistance through Marketgoo and more advanced keyword and competitor tracking through XOVI. Monitoring packages cover websites, servers, ports and individual service availability.

The ordering system supports GBP, EUR, USD, AUD and CAD, making the service convenient for customers in several international markets. The website and customer interface are available in English. The current design is modern, responsive and suitable for desktop and mobile devices.
