Majordomo is a long-established Russian hosting provider operating since April 12, 2000. The business was founded by Denis Imshenetsky together with a partner after earlier work in web development, making it one of the older commercial hosting brands in Russia. The service is legally operated by ООО «Хостинг» (LLC Hosting), registered in Saint Petersburg. In September 2021, Majordomo was acquired by Internet Hosting Center. The acquisition price was not disclosed, while IHC had more than 40,000 Majordomo private and corporate customers at the time and approximately 110,000 customers across the combined group. Majordomo continued operating under its established brand and customer platform after the transaction.

The company serves more than 30,000 organizations, while its migration service has referenced a customer base exceeding 40,000. Majordomo is also included in the Russian hosting-provider registry maintained by Roskomnadzor under registry number 1401. Its infrastructure uses Intel and AMD server hardware together with Cisco and Juniper networking equipment.

The product portfolio covers the main requirements of both personal and business hosting customers. Shared Hosting is the primary entry-level service, complemented by specialized WordPress Hosting and 1C-Bitrix Hosting. Accounts include a seven-day testing period, DDoS protection, SSL support, hosting-management tools and technical assistance. The hosting environment includes multiple PHP versions, databases, FTP and SSH access, scheduled tasks and backup facilities. Larger Business packages increase SSD storage and resource allocations while supporting multiple websites, databases and email accounts.

Website migration is available free of charge. Majordomo can transfer website files and databases and assist with DNS changes. Depending on website size and network conditions, migration can take from several hours to one or two days. Eligible websites transferred to annual hosting packages can also receive up to three months of hosting without charge.

The more specialized Application Hosting platform is suitable for developers who want to deploy an application without maintaining a complete virtual server. It supports technologies including Python, Ruby, PHP, MySQL, Redis and Memcached, with individual components enabled according to project requirements. Daily billing provides additional flexibility and makes the service a practical middle ground between ordinary shared hosting and a full VPS.

Majordomo also operates an AI Website Builder capable of generating the initial structure, text, imagery and design of a website. A basic professional website can be created within several minutes, and the builder has more than 2,000 active customers. This provides beginners with a simpler alternative to manually installing and configuring a CMS.

VPS/VDS services are available with placement in Russia or Europe. Plans use NVMe SSD storage, provide root access and include network connectivity according to the selected configuration. Entry servers begin with 1 vCPU and 1 GB RAM, while larger configurations provide progressively more processor capacity, memory and storage. The service suits custom Linux stacks, databases, web applications and workloads that need more resources or configuration freedom than shared hosting allows.

For workloads requiring dedicated physical hardware, Dedicated Servers are available in Saint Petersburg and Moscow. Entry configurations include RAID-protected storage, traffic according to the selected network conditions, IP-KVM access where applicable, technical assistance and optional administration. Hardware provisioning can range from several hours to several days depending on the selected configuration.

The broader service portfolio also includes Domain Registration, domain transfers and WHOIS lookup, SSL Certificates, Business Email, server-side anti-spam and antivirus filtering, paid server administration and optional server-control-panel licenses. Business email is particularly flexible because pricing is based on allocated storage rather than on the number of mailboxes, allowing multiple addresses to be created under the customer's domain.

Commercial SSL certificates include products from GlobalSign, while free SSL is available with normal shared-hosting accounts and is sufficient for most regular websites. Anti-spam functionality includes incoming antivirus scanning, configurable filtering thresholds and server-side blacklists and whitelists.

Majordomo is strongly focused on the Russian market. The website, ordering process and documentation are primarily in Russian, while product pricing is denominated in Russian rubles (RUB). No multi-language/localized version exists, and an English-language storefront is not available. This can be an important limitation for international customers that require English-language account management or contractual documentation.
