*📜 Plan description

This plan provides one full 19-inch server rack with 42 usable rack units. Customers can choose a 60cm or 80cm cabinet width, and the rack offers an extra-deep 1100mm installation depth. The cabinet is lockable and uses a replaceable profile half-cylinder. Access is available around the clock through two-factor authentication. Power can be expanded up to two 14A feeds using A and B supply paths, while electricity is billed according to measured consumption. The price starts at EUR 205 per month.

The service is delivered from LWLcom's ISO 27001-certified Bremen data centers BRE01, BRE06 and BRE09, with stated minimum availability of 99.95 percent. Security and resilience measures include controlled zones, camera surveillance, fire detection, gas suppression at BRE06 and BRE09, fire alarms at BRE01, redundant cooling, N+1 UPS systems and diesel-generator backup. Connectivity from 1 to 100 Gbit/s can be arranged through AS50629, major European peering points and carrier-neutral links where available. LWLcom Internet uplinks include DDoS protection, but IP transit is not automatically bundled with the rack space and normally requires a separate service. Electricity is metered and billed by actual use unless an included allowance is specified. The facilities are monitored 24x7 by the network operations team, with support by email and phone. Installation is generally possible within one to two working days. Photovoltaic generation and regional green electricity are used.

📄 Editorial Review

LWLcom is an independent German telecommunications and infrastructure provider headquartered in Bremen. Its history began in 2000 as the fiber-optic division of Hermann Cassens GmbH, followed by the establishment of LWLcom GmbH as an independent company in 2001. The business has since developed more than 500 kilometers of regional fiber infrastructure, a nationwide backbone, its own autonomous system, and three company-owned data centers in Bremen.

Frank Holmes and Simon Frerichs serve as managing directors. LWLcom has grown from a regional fiber specialist into a broader infrastructure provider serving hosting companies, network operators, SaaS businesses, agencies, content platforms, and enterprises. Important milestones include the activation of its first broadband services in 2009, receipt of AS50629 in 2011, opening of its first data center in 2012, introduction of IP transit in 2014, expansion to a third Bremen data center in 2024, and ISO 27001 certification in 2025.

In 2025, LWLcom acquired rrbone GmbH (rrbone.net), a Dortmund network engineering and infrastructure company. The acquisition strengthened its expertise in network planning, IP transit, fiber connectivity, data-center services, and nationwide infrastructure projects.

LWLcom is not a conventional shared hosting provider. It does not concentrate on entry-level shared hosting, reseller accounts, managed WordPress plans, domain packages, or virtual private servers. Its core portfolio consists of unmanaged dedicated servers, colocation, IP transit, business fiber connections, DDoS protection, and related network services.

The Dedicated Server range is built around configurable Supermicro rack hardware and AMD EPYC processors. Available configurations extend from six-core entry systems to servers with 128 CPU cores, up to 512 GB of RAM, SSD or NVMe storage, and a standard 10 Gbit/s network uplink. IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity, a traffic flat rate, integrated DDoS protection, and technical support for the physical infrastructure are included.

These servers are unmanaged. LWLcom supplies the hardware, network connection, power, and data-center environment, while customers remain responsible for the operating system, applications, security updates, firewalls, monitoring, and backups. Full administrative access provides considerable flexibility, although the service is best suited to companies with experienced system administrators.

The Colocation portfolio covers individual rack units, half racks, and complete 42U cabinets. Full racks are available in 60 cm or 80 cm widths with a depth of 1,100 mm. Half-rack and full-rack customers receive 24/7 access protected by two-factor authentication, lockable cabinets, and optional redundant A+B power feeds. Individual rack-unit customers can access their equipment by prior arrangement.

Connectivity for colocation customers ranges from 1 to 100 Gbit/s. LWLcom IP transit is available directly through AS50629, while carrier-neutral access to other providers can be arranged where available. Power consumption for half and full racks is measured separately using calibrated meters.

The IP Transit service is available through burstable, flat-rate, and individually negotiated packages. Connections are delivered through 10G, 25G, or 100G ports, with options for 95th-percentile billing, Aggregated Committed Data Rate, or fixed traffic pricing. IPv4 and IPv6, integrated DDoS protection, guaranteed bandwidth, flexible BGP sessions, and contract periods starting from one month make the service suitable for access providers, content networks, hosting companies, and larger online platforms.

LWLcom also supplies LWLaccess Business Fiber with symmetrical speeds of 1, 5, or 10 Gbit/s. These connections include fixed IPv4 addresses, IPv6 allocations, an internet traffic flat rate, DDoS protection, replacement of provider hardware, and a technical incident response target of less than two hours. An optional VDSL backup connection can be added where technically available.

Business fiber customers can add VoIP telephony through SIP trunks or individual numbers. German and European call packages are available, together with number porting, geographic German telephone numbers, T.38 fax support, HD voice codecs, and compatibility with professional SIP telephone systems.

Residential fiber, television, and telephone products are operated separately through the LWLhome brand. These regional consumer services are distinct from the infrastructure and hosting portfolio but benefit from the same underlying fiber network.

The website has a modern and responsive layout with detailed information about hardware, network capacity, BGP communities, data-center security, and current service pricing. The business website is available in German, and prices are displayed in EUR.
