*📜 Plan description
Configuration summary
- Option: Small option
- Delivery model: pre-built per host; may be pre-built or build-to-order depending on deployment
- Resources per host: 20 cores, 128 GB RAM, 5 TB usable SSD storage
- Sizing guidance: start with a single host profile and scale host count or choose larger profiles as workload density and performance needs evolve
- Notes: Designed for smaller private cloud footprints, pilot deployments, or targeted edge workloads where strong isolation and VMware-based control are required.
Managed private cloud built on VMware Cloud Foundation and software-defined data center (SDDC) technology, positioned for next-generation cloud applications that need private-cloud control and edge proximity.
- Operations model: a single management platform based on VMware for deployment and management of data center resources, with compatibility for orchestration tools
- Responsibility split: you control VM density, security, scale, and support model; the provider operates core functions such as SDDC Manager and related platform components
- Security architecture: networking and security policies can be attached to workloads using micro-segmentation, logically dividing the data center down to the individual workload
- Application enablement: replicate entire business application environments from clouds to the edge for disaster recovery and high availability without disrupting applications or giving up control
- Connectivity: designed to integrate with a high-performance network footprint and to support hybrid architectures across data centers, edge locations, and multiple clouds
- Platform components (varies by deployment): VMware vCenter, vCloud Director, NSX Manager, SDDC Manager, and vCloud Availability, delivered through VMware vSphere native tools and an application management layer
- Optional add-ons: integration with network storage and data protection services; managed IaaS for Kubernetes with self-service development tools and a management control plane
- Management and governance: management/orchestration integration, application lifecycle management, and multi-cloud management options for managed OS and managed applications
- Scale and reach: available in 60+ planned edge locations and in 2,200+ third-party data centers; availability spans North America, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM (services not available everywhere)
- Services support: expert IT support available around the world, with advanced program, technical, architect, and security services options
