Louhi is an established Finnish web hosting and digital services provider headquartered in Espoo. Its hosting operations date back to 2001, when services were developed within Smilehouse after several hosting-related acquisitions. The Louhi.Net customer base later became the foundation of a separate company, and Louhi Net Oy was established in 2005.

Louhi later became part of the Finnish Winterbackwoods (winterbackwoods.com) group. The company sold its former data center business in 2016, including approximately ten server racks and three employees, and concentrated more heavily on hosting, cloud services, managed applications, cybersecurity, customer support, and business IT services.

The company serves more than 20,000 customers, manages approximately 39,299 domain names, and operates around 15,000 web hosting accounts. Its infrastructure supports more than 9,000 WordPress websites, while over 100 Finnish web agencies and website developers use Louhi services for their own projects and customer websites. The wider organization has approximately 11–50 employees.

Louhi has expanded through several acquisitions. Getafix (getafix.fi) joined the company in November 2023, adding more WordPress, website development, and managed application expertise. PH Data (phdata.fi) was acquired in May 2025 and subsequently merged into Getafix. Cloudlife (cloudlife.fi) followed in November 2025, strengthening Louhi’s Microsoft cloud, digital workplace, IT support, and cybersecurity capabilities.

The resulting service portfolio extends well beyond conventional shared hosting. Louhi covers domain registration, DNS management, web hosting, managed WordPress, WooCommerce hosting, reseller hosting, virtual servers, email, cloud applications, website maintenance, security products, backups, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and managed IT services.

Domain registration includes DNS administration, renewals, SSL options, and WHOIS privacy for eligible generic domain extensions. Customers can also use the free Micro hosting package with a domain for a simple website, redirect, or lightweight online presence. A domain registration by itself does not include the complete email and website functionality available with a commercial hosting plan.

The regular shared hosting range consists of Mini, Perus, Rajaton, and Voima. Mini is intended for a very small website and includes 1 GB of storage, one email account, 10 GB of monthly traffic, and SSL. Perus increases capacity to 10 GB, 20 email accounts, 60 GB of monthly traffic, three MySQL databases, SSH access, Installatron, and the Sitejet website builder.

Rajaton includes 20 GB of storage together with unlimited monthly traffic, email accounts, databases, FTP accounts, and subdomains. Voima is the higher-performance shared hosting option and uses infrastructure from UpCloud, together with LiteSpeed, cPanel, and increased processing resources.

Shared hosting supports PHP, MySQL databases, SSL certificates, email accounts, webmail, FTP, scheduled tasks, and one-click application installation. SSH is available with suitable packages. Customers can select between several PHP 7 and PHP 8 releases, making it possible to maintain an older website while preparing it for a newer runtime.

WordPress hosting is available through the Normi, Plussa, and Priima packages. These plans increase progressively in storage, traffic allowances, installation limits, and server resources. They run on Finnish cloud infrastructure and include SSL certificates, WordPress management tools, optimized server settings, and automatic administration features.

Sovelluskartano is the managed dedicated WordPress environment for agencies, publishers, multisite networks, online stores, and demanding business websites. It combines a dedicated UpCloud server with cPanel, WHM, CloudLinux, LiteSpeed, Imunify360, monitoring, backups, server management, and a designated technical contact.

Louhi also handles WordPress maintenance, migrations, updates, troubleshooting, malware removal, Wordfence configuration, Cookiebot integration, and performance optimization. These services are useful for companies that rely on WordPress but do not want to maintain plugins, security settings, backups, and server configuration internally.

WooCommerce Hosting provides larger CPU and memory allocations than ordinary shared hosting. LiteSpeed caching, JetBackup, and WordPress Toolkit Deluxe are included, making it more appropriate for stores with large product catalogs, resource-intensive plugins, frequent scheduled jobs, or higher numbers of concurrent visitors.

Reseller Hosting, known locally as Tukkuhotelli, allows agencies and developers to create separate cPanel accounts for their customers. Standard packages include cPanel and WHM, while the higher-performance Teho environment uses UpCloud and LiteSpeed. This gives agencies control over customer accounts without requiring them to maintain a complete physical or virtual server.

Sitejet Builder provides a visual and responsive website-building system with AI-assisted features and more than 140 templates. It is included with several shared hosting plans. Sitejet Commerce adds online-store functionality, with package sizes ranging from stores with up to 100 products to unrestricted product catalogs.

Email services range from traditional hosted mailboxes to Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. The entry-level email package includes five mailboxes, browser-based webmail, IMAP and POP access, forwarding, and spam filtering.

Louhi Kuriiri adds DNS-level email protection against spam, malware, and dangerous attachments. It can protect mailboxes hosted by Louhi as well as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or an externally operated business mail server.

Additional business services include email migrations, endpoint security, Cookiebot consent management, Nexetic cloud backup, WithSecure products, website maintenance, managed servers, infrastructure monitoring, and technical consultancy.

The virtual server range uses VMware virtualization and supports Linux and Windows Server environments. VPS customers receive public IP addresses, administrative or root access, reverse DNS management, redundant power, redundant connectivity, and optional backup capacity.

Configurations range from a small Linux VPS with 0.5 GB of memory to larger systems with 8 GB of memory and 200 GB of storage. These servers are particularly relevant to Finnish organizations that prioritize local infrastructure, domestic support, and predictable business services rather than only the lowest international VPS price.

The website is available in Finnish and English, and services are priced in euros. The design is modern, responsive, and suitable for both desktop and mobile visitors. The English version covers the principal product categories, although several package names and individual interface elements remain in Finnish.
