📄 Editorial Review

LiveHosting Datacenter is a Romanian hosting and infrastructure provider from the Timișoara area, with activity dating back to 2006. The current legal entity, LIVEHOSTING DATACENTER S.R.L., was incorporated on May 21, 2010, with Dan Petru associated with the company's administration and technical operations.

LiveHosting combines traditional web hosting with considerably more infrastructure-oriented services. Its portfolio includes Linux Hosting, Windows Hosting, VPS, Dedicated Servers, Colocation, Domains, SSL Certificates, Server Management, Server Migration and Cyber Security services. This combination makes the company suitable for anything from a relatively simple website to customers requiring their own physical server, BGP connectivity or outsourced system administration.

The Linux Shared Hosting range is built around cPanel and SSD storage. Plans range from smaller packages intended for a few websites to substantially larger accounts with up to 180 GB of SSD capacity. Monthly traffic is unlimited, and the larger plans support unlimited domains, email accounts, databases, subdomains and parked domains.

Windows hosting is an important part of the business and is particularly suitable for Microsoft-oriented development. The Windows Shared Hosting range supports ASP, ASP.NET, .NET Framework, .NET Core, modern .NET releases, PHP through FastCGI, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL/MariaDB. Each website receives a dedicated application pool, while IIS Remote Management, URL Rewrite and Web Deploy are available for customers requiring more direct application deployment and administration.

Windows email is handled through SmarterMail Enterprise, with SmarterStats Enterprise available for website statistics. Database administration includes MyLittleAdmin for Microsoft SQL Server and phpMyAdmin for MySQL-compatible databases. The hosting environment therefore works particularly well for developers running mixed Microsoft and PHP applications.

The VPS lineup includes both SSD VPS and NVMe VPS. Configurations start with several dedicated CPU cores and 4 GB RAM and extend to significantly larger virtual machines with up to 16 CPU cores, 32 GB RAM and hundreds of gigabytes of storage. Windows Server and Linux operating systems are available, traffic is unlimited, and VPS accounts include a dedicated IP address. Windows systems can be administered through Remote Desktop, while Linux machines use SSH.

Dedicated hosting uses HPE ProLiant DL360 G7 and G8 hardware with dual Intel Xeon processors, ECC-class server memory, Samsung SSD storage, hardware RAID, redundant hot-swap power supplies, multiple Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and HPE iLO remote-management functionality. These server generations are older than current HPE platforms, but they remain practical for workloads where dedicated resources, redundant hardware and predictable monthly cost are more important than access to the newest CPU architecture.

Colocation Hosting is available for 1U, 2U and 3U servers. Customers receive Gigabit connectivity, IPv4, IPv6, VLAN capability, power protection and DDoS mitigation. Organizations operating their own network resources can also use their own ASN and IP ranges through BGP, which makes the service considerably more flexible than conventional rack-space rental.

Server administration can be purchased separately. Server Management covers Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V, Linux services, web servers, DNS, email, anti-spam systems, firewalls, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL/MariaDB, SSL, antivirus, backups, cPanel/WHM, SolidCP, operating-system updates, security hardening and monitoring. This is useful for customers that need VPS or dedicated infrastructure without maintaining an internal system-administration team.

Server migration is also available, allowing existing Windows or Linux workloads to be transferred into the LiveHosting infrastructure or between platforms.

Cybersecurity services complement the hosting range. Managed Protection combines Emsisoft and Bitdefender technologies with centralized administration, anti-ransomware capabilities, phishing protection, web protection, file scanning and Active Directory integration. LiveHosting also provides external vulnerability scanning covering thousands of security checks against domains, hostnames and IP addresses, including checks relevant to common CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal and Joomla.

Domain services cover Romanian and international extensions, while SSL certificates are available from brands including Sectigo, RapidSSL, GeoTrust and DigiCert. DV, OV, EV and Wildcard certificates are available depending on the required validation level.

The main commercial interface is Romanian. An English interface exists for parts of the support environment, but a complete English commercial version does not exist. Service pricing is primarily shown in EUR, while invoicing and settlement are handled in Romanian lei.

The commercial interface is functional but somewhat dated compared with newer hosting storefronts. Some product sections also contain older terminology, and certain SSL or colocation prices can differ between overview and ordering areas. For larger contracts, confirming the final specification and proforma invoice before payment is advisable.
