IQ Server is a specialized Japanese hosting service operated by Mfro Inc. (mfro.net), a Tokyo internet company founded in 2004 by Yosuke Kitawaki. Mfro’s broader business covers hosting, domain management, online media, applications and business-oriented internet systems, while IQ Server has operated as a distinct hosting service since at least 2010.

IQ Server is very different from a conventional provider built around standard shared hosting, VPS packages and off-the-shelf dedicated servers. Its main specialty is Class-C-diversified IPv4 hosting, designed for customers who manage many websites and do not want every domain placed within the same subnet. Although "Class C" is legacy networking terminology, the service uses it to refer to IPv4 addresses distributed across different third-octet ranges.

The available address pool includes approximately 1,400 overseas IP addresses and 500 domestic Japanese IP addresses. Standard hosting is purchased as an IP Set containing ten addresses, with one website assigned to each IP. Smaller Lite contracts provide three randomly selected addresses from the chosen domestic or overseas pool.

This structure is especially useful for agencies, affiliate publishers, media operators and companies responsible for large groups of relatively small websites. The service is much less relevant to customers who need a single high-resource website, a large storage allocation or a conventional VPS environment.

Overseas shared hosting provides 500 MB of storage per IP address, including database usage, while domestic Japanese hosting provides 450 MB per IP address. Every IP can accommodate one custom domain, one basic subdomain, one MySQL database, one FTPS account and as many as three email addresses. Free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates are available and renew automatically.

The server environment includes Apache 2.4, PHP 7.4, MySQL 5.7, phpMyAdmin, Cron, .htaccess, mod_rewrite, mod_deflate, mod_expires and ModSecurity. WordPress can be installed automatically, including database creation and initial configuration. Customers can select themes and plugins during deployment, adjust permalink settings and activate WordPress multisite mode.

Some parts of the software stack are now old. PHP 7.4 and MySQL 5.7 have reached the end of their mainstream upstream support cycles, while parts of the platform continue to use CentOS 7. The overseas pool also includes Rocky Linux 8 systems. Customers running recent frameworks, plugins or commerce software should confirm compatibility and ongoing security maintenance before migration.

Bandwidth is nominally unrestricted, but the shared environment is governed by fair-use restrictions. Excessive resource consumption, large-file distribution, video delivery or activity that interferes with other users can lead to limitations or account suspension. The plans work best for collections of compact websites rather than storage-heavy portals, streaming services or high-traffic online stores.

The Lite Plan provides three domestic or overseas IP addresses and is primarily useful for testing the service or operating a very small group of sites. Each customer can maintain only one overseas Lite contract and one domestic Lite contract, so Lite plans cannot be accumulated to create a large diversified network.

The Dedicated Server service is aimed at considerably larger deployments. A customized server can receive approximately 100 to 1,000 diversified IP addresses, and multiple websites can be placed on each address. Hardware, software, administration tools and deployment specifications are prepared individually. Server maintenance, security patching and attack response are managed by the provider, while dedicated clients receive access to a private support chat channel. Pricing is supplied through a quotation.

Corporate customers already operating at least ten IP Sets or using the dedicated service can also request a managed cloud environment based on Amazon Web Services. Mfro can build and administer configurations involving S3, RDS, CloudFront, ElastiCache, API Gateway and Lambda. Initial deployment may be included or separately quoted depending on complexity, while recurring billing consists of actual AWS consumption plus a 15% operational-management fee.

Migration support is more extensive than the basic specifications might suggest. Every new shared-hosting contract includes a 10-day free trial. Customers transferring websites from another provider can receive an additional 15 free days, creating a total migration period of 25 days.

Companies ordering at least three new IP Sets can request a technical migration survey without an additional charge. The assessment covers PHP and MySQL compatibility, content-management requirements, DNS configuration and possible transfer problems.

A paid migration service costs JPY 9,000 before tax per application. The service can include file and database transfer, domain setup, DNS configuration, WordPress adjustments, mapping documentation and post-migration testing. The application fee is not tied to a stated maximum number of domains or IP Sets, which can make it attractive for larger transfers.

The service and its customer documentation are available in Japanese, while prices are denominated in Japanese yen. The interface retains an older, information-dense desktop layout and can appear cramped on smaller displays. Some secondary sections also contain legacy specifications or historical pricing, making the current function, pricing and service-notice sections particularly important when comparing plans.
