Infonet is one of Estonia’s long-established Internet and telecommunications companies, with a history dating to 1993. AS Infonet was established on September 10, 1993, while the current legal entity was entered in the Estonian Commercial Register in 1996. Its background reaches back to the early Fidonet and BBS era, giving the company more than three decades of experience in Internet connectivity and related services.

The company remains independently controlled by Andrei Leškin, the sole shareholder and beneficial owner, who has also served on the management board since 2002. Infonet employed 17 people during the 2025 financial year and generated approximately €2.47 million in revenue with about €353,000 in net profit. This makes it an active telecommunications business rather than simply a legacy hosting brand.

Infonet combines Internet access and network services with Shared Hosting, domain registration, physical server hosting/Colocation Hosting, IPv4/IPv6 connectivity and digital television. The broader infrastructure operation also includes Dedicated Servers, rack colocation, individual rack-unit colocation, IP connectivity, Remote Hands and custom SLA services through Infonet DC (infonetdc.com).

Shared hosting is divided into Silver, Gold and Platinum packages. The main hosting tariff provides 50 GB, 100 GB and 150 GB of disk space, together with monthly traffic allowances of 100 GB, 200 GB and 300 GB. Silver supports one domain, Gold supports five and Platinum supports ten. Email, FTP, PHP, MySQL, Perl, CGI, SSI, cron jobs, Webalizer statistics, DNS management and daily backups are included.

Gold supports up to 100 mailboxes, while Platinum removes the mailbox limit. DNSSEC management is available, together with POP3, IMAP and SMTP over SSL. Platinum additionally includes HTTPS support and several capabilities not included in the smaller packages.

Shared hosting is managed with ISPmanager, providing a more traditional hosting environment than the cPanel- or Plesk-based platforms commonly encountered with international hosting providers.

Some parts of the hosting catalog still reflect an earlier generation of web hosting. References to PHP 5, Zend Optimizer, WAP and Webalizer remain within the technical specifications, and different parts of the service catalog contain inconsistent storage figures. Customers deploying modern PHP applications should therefore confirm current PHP versions, database versions, disk allocations and backup retention before placing production workloads on the service.

Domain registration includes .ee, .eu, .com and numerous international domain extensions. .ee and .eu registrations are available for one-year periods, while .com domains can be registered for periods between one and ten years. DNSSEC support is available for .ee domains.

Physical server hosting follows the traditional colocation model: customers provide their own hardware while Infonet supplies rack space, electricity, environmental control and network connectivity. Options include 1U, 2U, 4U and tower equipment, with configurations ranging from internal backend connectivity to dedicated Internet connections.

The infrastructure business is considerably broader through Infonet DC (infonetdc.com), in which Infonet AS holds a 50% ownership interest. Dedicated servers range from economical Intel Xeon systems to larger hardware configurations with SSD or NVMe storage, RAID and IPMI access. Custom hardware configurations are also possible.

Dedicated server administration uses DCImanager together with IPMI access. Optional server administration services are available for customers requiring additional operational support.

The main infonet.ee website supports Estonian and Russian. A complete English version does not exist for the main hosting storefront, while the Infonet DC operation additionally provides English. Services are priced in EUR.

The main website has a noticeably dated design and retains several older technical references. This contrasts with the substantially stronger network and data-center infrastructure behind the company. Infonet is therefore better understood as an established Estonian telecommunications and infrastructure operator that also continues to provide conventional hosting services.
