HostZone is a Greek web hosting and internet-services provider operating since 2011, with services spanning shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, domain registration, radio streaming, website development, custom web applications, and Nginx-based hosting. The company mainly targets Greek-speaking customers, while its hosting infrastructure is located in Germany. No multi-language/localized version exist, and service prices are presented in EUR.

The Web Hosting range consists of Basic, Standard, Advanced, and Master packages. These plans include unlimited disk space and bandwidth, backups, DNS management, PHP support, cron jobs, webmail, email accounts, free CMS installation, and a domain registration from commonly used extensions such as .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .eu, and .gr.

Differences between the shared hosting packages mainly concern addon domains, FTP accounts, and MySQL databases. Basic is suitable for a smaller single website and includes five MySQL databases, while the larger packages increase the number of hosted domains and account resources. Master supports up to 15 addon domains together with unlimited MySQL databases.

Shared hosting uses cPanel, while DirectAdmin is also available. The overall environment remains suitable for traditional PHP/MySQL websites, CMS installations, blogs, and smaller business websites. The technical specifications are nevertheless quite dated compared with current hosting standards, particularly regarding storage technology, resource allocations, current PHP releases, caching, and modern security features.

The VPS range is divided between Managed VPS and Root VPS. Three configurations are available, starting with 512 MB RAM and 20 GB storage, followed by 1 GB RAM with 40 GB storage and 2 GB RAM with 80 GB storage. VPS packages include a 100 Mbit connection, unmetered traffic, root SSH access, and 100 GB of FTP/SCP backup storage.

Managed VPS is intended for customers who prefer HostZone to handle day-to-day server administration. Maintenance, software management, security, backups, and hardware support are included. Root VPS is less expensive and leaves normal software administration to the customer after the initial installation, while HostZone remains responsible for the underlying hardware.

The VPS operating-system selection belongs to an older generation and includes Debian 5 and 6, CentOS 5.x, Ubuntu 10.04 and 10.10, openSUSE 11.4, Fedora 12 and 13, FreeBSD 8.2, and Windows Server 2008 R2. These operating systems are obsolete by current security standards, so customers considering a VPS should confirm the currently available operating systems, virtualization technology, CPU platform, storage type, and resource allocations before ordering.

The same managed and unmanaged model applies to Dedicated Servers. Root Dedicated servers provide full control of the machine while leaving software administration largely to the customer. Managed Dedicated servers add operating-system administration, security work, backups, maintenance, and broader technical support.

Dedicated configurations are named Basic, Standard, Advanced, Master, and Extreme. Hardware ranges from older AMD Athlon 64 systems to Intel Core i7 and Xeon E3 configurations, generally with paired SATA disks configured in software RAID 1. These specifications are considerably behind current dedicated-server standards, making confirmation of the actual hardware supplied especially important before purchase.

HostZone also provides Radio Hosting, with streaming rates ranging from 32 Kbps to 328 Kbps. The service is connected with RadioCast.gr and is intended for online radio stations and other audio-streaming projects.

Website creation and development are available alongside hosting. HostZone handles conventional Website Design as well as custom Web Applications, allowing customers to combine development work and hosting under the same provider.

Nginx Hosting is another specialized option. Nginx can operate in front of Apache as a reverse proxy, serving static content and handling caching while Apache continues processing dynamic applications. This approach can still improve performance for suitable PHP-based websites and reduce unnecessary Apache workload.

A SeedBox section also exists, but it remains marked as coming soon and cannot be considered an established active hosting product.

Domain registration is integrated into the hosting portfolio, with extensions including .gr, .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, and .eu. Qualifying shared hosting accounts include a domain registration without a separate domain charge.

The company website has a distinctly older fixed-width design and is not well adapted to current mobile browsing. Several product specifications, server configurations, operating systems, and software references also reflect an earlier generation of web hosting technology.
