😠 I almost migrated my account this host but am hugely relieved that I did not.
Good luck trying to cancel, they'll keep billing you. I requested cancellation of ALL Hostwinds services, they kept billing me for "object storage" for months without any emails etc. It is buried in the footer of one of their replies that they won't cancel any service "for" you despite telling you that your services are cancelled (except they did cancel some services and cherry picked what not to cancel), then cease to provide any further communication that they are billing you. I discovered it on my Visa, and had to create a ticket to find out what they wouldn't say when I requested cancellation, that unless you go through your account with a fine-tooth comb and look for anything they can possibly bill you for (that you didn't create, was auto-created for you and NOT under the products section where all your other stuff is) and cancel it manually yourself, then request formal written notice that all products and services (or anything they can possibly invoice you for) is cancelled, then they'll just keep billing you for months or years. Other hosts don't do this. You cancel with another host, and you're cancelled. They consider this as a "separate" service, and even though I requested cancellation of all hostwinds "service" they didn't count this and claimed I had to do it yourself, where no other host seems to have this policy, for a very, very good reason. I should have checked the Better Business Bureau report of their complaints first, for which things like this appear over and over despite them stating they will make cancellation easier for customers (they haven't). They are going out of their way to make cancellations difficult for consumers and not making any good faith efforts to ensure they can do so without jumping through several hoops. No further communications, nothing. Just bills (no reminder emails either). This is structural deception to gain fraudulent funds. They must really be hurting for money if they have to opt you into stuff you didn't even want, or use, then refuse to cancel it, hide it, then not make perfectly clear this extra charge you didn't want will keep going, after 3 cancellation requests. 3. Finally got it cancelled but only because I went through every aspect of the past account and deleted anything I could find, then formally requested in writing proof that there was nothing else they could or would continue trying to bill me for (and put a stop-payment on my VISA).
