HostSG is one of Singapore’s longest-running web hosting providers, operating since 1997. The company was co-founded by Kevin Foong and Tan Heng Chai and developed from a local hosting operation into an established provider serving businesses and individuals in Singapore and other international markets.

Its corporate history includes ISO 9001:2008 certification, the introduction of commercial server clustering for shared hosting in 2006, and several Singapore business awards received between 2010 and 2014. The legal business entity is HOSTSG PTE LTD, registered in Singapore under number 201100494D.

HostSG concentrates on Shared Hosting, Business Cloud Hosting, Dedicated Servers, Domain Registration, and DNS Hosting. Its older portfolio also included Linux VPS, Windows VPS, Cloud Sites, hosted email, email archiving, colocation, SSL certificates, email marketing, and budget hosting.

The current Shared Hosting range is designed for personal websites, startups, and smaller business projects. Starter20, Starter40, Starter60, and Starter80 provide between 20 GB and 80 GB of storage, unmetered data transfer, one hosted domain, unlimited POP3 and IMAP email accounts, MariaDB databases, daily backups, spam protection, virus filtering, and cPanel management.

Shared hosting servers are located in Singapore and use connections burstable to 100 Mbps. PHP and MariaDB are available, while ASP.NET is not supported. An SSL certificate is supplied through the paid Secure Website add-on rather than being included with the standard hosting package.

The Business Cloud Hosting service provides a managed environment for companies that need more capacity and resources than standard shared hosting. Available configurations include 100 GB, 250 GB, 500 GB, and 2,000 GB of storage.

These plans include unmetered data transfer, burstable 100 Mbps connectivity, daily backups, unlimited email accounts, support for five domains by default, PHP, MariaDB, and cPanel. Storage, processor resources, memory, IP addresses, and additional cPanel accounts can be expanded through paid upgrades.

Business Cloud is better suited to commercial websites, online stores, business applications, and customers who prefer HostSG to maintain the underlying server platform. It provides greater flexibility than shared hosting without transferring full operating-system administration to the customer.

The Dedicated Server range consists of unmanaged Supermicro systems with root access, IPMI, KVM-over-IP remote administration, SSD storage, and software RAID 1. Customers can install Linux, BSD, or a licensed Windows Server edition.

Solution A uses an Intel Xeon E3-1230 v2 processor, 16 GB of ECC memory, and two 200 GB SSDs. Solution C uses dual Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 processors, 64 GB of ECC memory, and two 400 GB SSDs. Both configurations include 10 Mbps of dedicated bandwidth burstable to 100 Mbps, IPv6 on request, and several IPv4 addresses.

The server hardware belongs to an older generation but remains suitable for conventional business applications, private services, development environments, databases, and workloads that do not require the latest processor architecture. Customers should confirm the precise IPv4 allocation, available operating systems, component availability, and hardware generation before ordering.

HostSG also provides domain registration, with a particular focus on .com, .asia, .sg, .com.sg, and .org.sg. Generic extensions include HiddenWhois privacy, while Singapore domain extensions require local eligibility and SingPass verification. Domains can be parked free of charge on HostSG name servers.

The paid DNS Hosting service supports custom IP records, MX records, domain records, and Google Workspace configuration. DNS changes are processed by HostSG rather than through a customer-operated DNS control panel.

The company’s older service catalog includes Linux and Windows VPS hosting, Cloud Sites, Cloud Email, Email Archiving, Colocation, SSL certificates, Email Marketing, and Budget Hosting. Some of these products rely on older technologies such as CentOS 6, PHP 5.3, MySQL 5.1, Windows Server 2008 or 2012, Plesk 10, and previous-generation server processors.

The legacy Linux VPS range started with 512 MB of RAM and 20 GB of storage and extended to 4 GB of RAM and 80 GB of storage. Customers could select cPanel, Plesk, or an unmanaged configuration without a control panel. Windows VPS packages followed a similar unmanaged model.

Cloud Email provided hosted business mailboxes, while Email Archiving retained copies of incoming and outgoing messages with web-based searching and administrative monitoring. Cloud Sites supported Linux and Windows applications on a clustered environment. Colocation included single-server and full-rack arrangements in Singapore.

These older products are no longer part of the main commercial catalog, so their present availability, software versions, pricing, and support conditions should be confirmed directly before purchase.

HostSG operates an English-language website and uses Singapore dollars for pricing. The current commercial area has a modern layout suitable for desktop and mobile devices. The older HostSG archive retains a narrow and dated design and should not be treated as the final authority for current software versions or service conditions.
