HostM is a privately owned web hosting provider operated as a division of Intuitient Ltd, a United Kingdom company incorporated on June 20, 2017. The HostM hosting brand has operated since 2002, giving it more than two decades of experience with shared hosting, domain services, email, website software, and online publishing tools.

Intuitient Ltd is controlled by Wilson Lowe, who has served as a company director since its incorporation and holds at least 75% of its shares and voting rights. HostM remains an independent business rather than part of a large international hosting group.

The service range is centered on a single comprehensive Shared Hosting package instead of several plans with progressively higher resource limits. Customers receive the same core hosting environment regardless of the selected billing period, while the separate Lifetime Hosting option provides access to the same service through a one-time purchase and a small annual maintenance charge.

The shared hosting account supports unlimited hosted domains, subdomains, domain aliases, email accounts, email forwarders, MariaDB databases, FTP accounts, storage, and website traffic. Each domain can operate as an independent website with its own files, databases, email addresses, and SSL certificate.

The hosting platform combines LiteSpeed Web Server, CloudLinux account isolation, enterprise NVMe SSD storage, ECC memory, and RAID-protected disks. HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 are supported, while familiar Apache-compatible functions such as .htaccess rules and mod_rewrite remain available.

HostM provides an unusually broad development environment for shared hosting. Customers can select versions from the PHP 5, PHP 7, and PHP 8 families, adjust common PHP options, and use MariaDB 11 or newer. Python 2 and 3, Node.js 16, 18, and 20, Perl, GD, ImageMagick, cron jobs, Git utilities, remote database connections, and phpMyAdmin are also included. SSH access is disabled by default but can be activated after a request to Client Care.

WordPress Hosting is included within the regular shared account rather than sold as a separate managed hosting upgrade. It includes one-click installation, staging functions, automatic SSL certificates, LiteSpeed Cache compatibility, and access to a free WordPress CDN. Multiple WordPress installations can run under the same hosting account.

The included application installer supports more than 150 applications, including WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, PrestaShop, phpBB, Tiki Wiki, image galleries, forums, online stores, content management systems, and collaboration tools. HostM maintains the hosting environment, while website programming, application customization, and troubleshooting of third-party extensions remain the customer’s responsibility.

LiveCode Hosting supports server-side LiveCode scripts, including the Community Server edition and licensed commercial editions. MariaDB Hosting includes MySQL-compatible database functionality with InnoDB, transactions, row locking, foreign keys, and crash-recovery capabilities.

RapidWeaver Hosting is suitable for websites published from the macOS RapidWeaver application through FTP, FTPS, or SFTP. Adobe Muse Hosting remains useful for maintaining older Muse-generated websites, although features that originally depended on Adobe Business Catalyst are no longer available. Tiki Wiki Hosting includes automated installation and software updates through the application installer.

HTTPS Hosting includes automatically issued wildcard SSL certificates, HTTP/3 support, HSTS compatibility, Perfect Forward Secrecy, and OCSP stapling. SSL certificates renew automatically and do not require customers to purchase a dedicated IP address. Secure TLS connections are also available for email services.

Email Hosting is part of the standard account and supports unlimited mailboxes and forwarding addresses under hosted domains. IMAP, POP3, and authenticated SMTP connections are available for applications such as Thunderbird, Outlook, and Apple Mail. Roundcube and Horde provide browser-based webmail access. SpamAssassin filtering, malware scanning, configurable filtering thresholds, allowlists, blocklists, and automatic Junk folders are included.

Domain registration, renewal, and transfer services are available through ICANN-accredited registrar partners. Internationalized domain names can also be hosted when the registrar permits custom nameservers. Customers may keep their domains with another registrar and point them toward the HostM DNS infrastructure.

HostM does not operate a conventional retail Reseller Hosting service. Standard unmanaged VPS and dedicated server packages are also outside its regular product range, although fully managed custom infrastructure can be arranged. Managed VPS configurations generally cost more than $100 per month, while managed dedicated servers normally exceed $500 per month. These custom services do not include root access or WHM access and are not covered by the standard 30-day refund policy.

Website and email migration assistance is included without a separate migration charge. WordPress websites, static websites, email accounts, and cPanel-based services are generally the easiest to transfer. Migrations from proprietary control panels depend on whether the previous provider allows access to files, databases, and mailbox data in a usable format.

The HostM website and control environment are available in English, with product prices displayed in US dollars. The interface works well on contemporary desktop and mobile devices, although some informational pages are relatively long because similar service benefits appear in several sections.
