HostingVirtuale is an Italian web hosting provider with a long operating history. The HostingVirtuale brand dates to 2001, while the team behind the business traces its IT activity to April 13, 1994. Its history includes a first customer domain in 1996, an Internet PoP in Pescara in 1997, low-cost hosting activity under ItalianServers around 2000, the HostingGratis.it project in 2005, cPanel-based StopHost services in 2013, and the introduction of the proprietary HVCP control panel in 2016. The company is privately held and operates with a relatively small specialist team.

The legal entity is Hosting Virtuale Società a Responsabilità Limitata, headquartered in Chieti, Abruzzo, with an additional operating office in Pescara. It is an accredited registrar for .it domains under registrar code HVREGISTER-REG and is registered with the Italian ROC under number 30741. The company owns its servers, network equipment and IP resources, giving it direct control over a substantial part of the infrastructure used to deliver its services.

The current hosting range is strongly oriented toward Linux hosting, Italian domains, small and medium-size businesses, professionals, web designers and agencies. Its principal shared/cloud hosting packages are LITE, PLUS, PRIME and BOOST. All four use CloudLinux and cPanel, SSD storage, SSL certificates and security and backup tools, while resource allocations increase considerably across the range.

LITE is the entry package with 5 GB SSD storage, one website, five email accounts and five databases. It receives 1 vCPU, 1 GB virtual RAM and 10 MB/s I/O. PLUS is a more capable single-site package with 30 GB SSD, 30 email accounts and 30 databases, together with 2 vCPU, 2 GB RAM and 20 MB/s I/O.

PRIME and BOOST are intended for multidomain hosting. PRIME supports up to five websites with 50 GB SSD, 50 email accounts and 50 databases, while BOOST supports up to ten websites and increases storage to 100 GB SSD, with 100 email accounts and 100 databases. Both receive 4 vCPU and 4 GB RAM, while BOOST increases disk I/O to 30 MB/s. PRIME and BOOST also add SSH/SFTP access and PEC capability.

Monthly traffic is unmetered across these hosting packages. Features include DNS management, subdomains, aliases, POP3/IMAP/SMTP with SSL, webmail, antivirus and spam filtering, MariaDB, PostgreSQL on plans above LITE, FTP and File Manager access, cron jobs on PLUS and higher plans, and multiple PHP versions ranging from legacy 5.x releases through current PHP 8.x versions. Python is available from PLUS upward. WordPress, Joomla and PrestaShop can be deployed with Installatron, while Sitejet provides integrated website-building functionality.

Dedicated CMS packages are available for WordPress, Joomla and PrestaShop. Each combines hosting with a domain, 5 GB of space, five email accounts, five MariaDB databases and SSL, with the selected CMS already included in the service. These packages are well suited to customers who want a ready-to-use application environment rather than configuring a hosting account from scratch.

Domain registration is another important part of the business. HostingVirtuale directly handles .it registrations as an accredited Italian registrar and also supports .eu, .com, .net, .org and hundreds of newer generic extensions. Domain-only service includes an email account, DNS management, URL forwarding and registrant privacy where applicable. Some newer extensions require processing after payment during working hours rather than completely automated real-time activation.

For agencies, the EASY package is a cPanel-based reseller and multidomain service. It provides 100 GB of SSD client space, an additional allocation for the reseller, unlimited email accounts and databases within the service limits, SSL and a bundle of domain registrations. It is particularly practical for agencies that maintain multiple customer websites without needing to administer their own server.

The MULTI service takes the agency model further with dedicated resources. It includes 50 GB of dedicated web space, a dedicated IP address, domain registrations for the agency and its customers, and telephone support. Web hosting resources are dedicated, while email remains on HostingVirtuale's separate mail infrastructure. MULTI uses the company's HVCP management environment rather than cPanel.

Older Cloud Server, Dedicated Server and VPS sections now converge on the MULTI dedicated-multidomain service. The current product structure is therefore focused more on managed hosting for agencies and multidomain customers than on conventional self-managed VPS or bare-metal products.

Email services include standard hosting mailboxes, Cloud Mail and Italian PEC certified email. Cloud Mail provides an 8 GB mailbox on a custom domain with POP, IMAP, SMTP and Exchange ActiveSync support, with larger storage allocations available. PEC starts with a mailbox on the hvpec.it domain, while dedicated-domain PEC configurations are also available.

Security extras include SSL certificates, website malware protection and cloud backup. Free Let's Encrypt certificates can be installed through cPanel. Commercial certificates include RapidSSL and GeoTrust options covering DV, OV, EV and wildcard requirements. SiteLock and Sucuri services add malware scanning, cleanup, WAF/CDN functionality and blacklist monitoring depending on the selected package.

Cloud backup uses DropMySite technology and can protect multiple websites and databases. Backup data is stored through Amazon AWS, with packages ranging from small website backups to substantially larger storage quotas. Supported database types include MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL and MongoDB.

The website operates in Italian and no multi-language/localized version exists. Prices are denominated in EUR and are normally displayed before Italian VAT.
