Hosting.NL is an established Dutch hosting provider with a history that combines the original Hosting.NL business, SQR.NL and the infrastructure expertise of Cyso Group (cyso.group). The technical roots reach back to 1997, when Cyso was founded by Paul Bankert, Sven Visser and Tjebbe de Winter. The legacy Hosting.NL business dates from 1999, while the current organization took shape in 2023 when SQR.NL and Hosting.NL were combined and continued under the Hosting.NL name.

The contractual company is SQR B.V., trading as Hosting.NL, and the business operates within Cyso Group. Hosting.NL remains part of an independently controlled Dutch technology group rather than one of the major international hosting consolidators. This structure is particularly attractive for organizations that prefer European ownership, Dutch infrastructure and a relatively direct relationship with their hosting provider.

Hosting.NL has grown far beyond conventional shared hosting. Its portfolio includes Domains, Shared Web Hosting, WordPress Hosting, WooCommerce Hosting, ASP.NET Hosting, Reseller Hosting, VPS, Cloud Applications, Managed Kubernetes, Managed Hosting, Email Hosting, Zimbra, Microsoft 365, transactional email, spam filtering, SSL Certificates, Premium DNS, Website Builder, AI Website Builder, WordPress maintenance and migration services.

The standard Web Hosting packages combine website hosting, email, databases, SSL and website-building tools. They use Plesk and include support for multiple PHP versions, unlimited traffic and Let's Encrypt SSL certificates. WordPress Toolkit is also integrated, making ordinary hosting suitable for customers who want to manage WordPress without moving immediately to a specialist WordPress platform.

The dedicated WordPress Hosting platform is a more performance-oriented option based on LiteSpeed and NVMe storage. It includes staging, SSL, email, CDN functionality, backups and WordPress Toolkit integration. Customers can choose between a largely self-managed Premium WordPress environment and more extensive managed service levels for businesses that prefer Hosting.NL to handle additional maintenance and operational work.

WooCommerce Hosting follows the same performance-focused approach for online shops. LiteSpeed, NVMe storage, staging environments, backups and WordPress/WooCommerce optimization make these plans considerably better suited to active e-commerce sites than entry-level generic shared hosting. Existing WooCommerce stores can also be moved through the migration service.

The WordPress Maintenance and Management Service adds another level of assistance. WordPress and PHP updates, uptime and performance monitoring, daily backups, LiteSpeed caching and vulnerability protection are included. Updates can be tested on a separate copy before deployment to the production website. The wider management option also covers requested content changes and is useful for smaller companies that need ongoing webmaster-style assistance without maintaining an internal technical team.

Reseller Hosting is aimed at agencies, developers and hosting resellers rather than simply offering another shared account with reseller permissions. Resources are allocated through dedicated hosting infrastructure, and the newer reseller platform uses Enhance for centralized administration. Resellers can use their own branding, domain, nameservers, colors and hosting packages, making the service fully white-label from the customer's perspective.

Existing reseller accounts can be migrated together with websites, email, DNS configuration and SSL certificates. This makes the service especially practical for agencies moving an established customer base rather than starting with an empty reseller account.

The Performance VPS platform is based on OpenStack infrastructure in the Netherlands. VPS plans use NVMe storage and include IPv4, IPv6, snapshots and scalable computing resources. Available operating systems include Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux and pfSense. Customers can manage servers directly or add Plesk when they prefer a graphical administration environment.

The Cloud Marketplace simplifies VPS deployment with preconfigured application images. Available environments include Ubuntu, Ubuntu Desktop, WordPress, Node.js, LAMP, Docker, Nextcloud, OnlyOffice Docs and Plesk. These remain VPS-based systems with greater administrative freedom than shared hosting, but they remove a significant part of the initial application installation work.

Managed Kubernetes extends the portfolio into more advanced cloud infrastructure. Hosting.NL manages the Kubernetes control plane while customers retain control over their workloads and worker resources. It is primarily intended for development teams and businesses running containerized applications rather than ordinary website owners.

For larger WordPress, WooCommerce and application projects, the Managed Hosting Solution provides dedicated resources and infrastructure tailored to actual workload requirements. Capacity can be determined through analysis and load testing, while active monitoring helps cope with campaigns, traffic peaks and other business-critical situations.

Physical bare-metal dedicated servers are not the main retail focus of Hosting.NL. Dedicated resources are nevertheless used within reseller and custom managed environments, while more complex infrastructure requirements can be handled within the wider Cyso ecosystem.

Domain services are extensive, with hundreds of domain extensions available together with registrations, transfers, DNS administration and bulk-domain management. Transfers of larger domain portfolios can be handled by the migration team, reducing the administrative work involved in moving many domains from another provider.

Premium DNS is available in European and worldwide configurations. The European option uses multiple geographically separated locations, while the worldwide platform expands distribution across many more locations. DDoS protection, redundant DNS infrastructure and very high availability make this a more appropriate option for important domains than relying only on standard hosting DNS.

SSL services range from free Let's Encrypt certificates included with suitable hosting packages to commercial single-domain, wildcard, multi-domain and Extended Validation certificates. Commercial certificate options rely on established certificate infrastructure including DigiCert.

Email is a substantial part of Hosting.NL rather than a basic add-on. E(U)-Mail is the European-focused mail service with POP, IMAP, webmail, aliases, spam protection and Dutch data storage. It is designed around privacy and conventional business email without advertising or user-tracking requirements.

Customers needing collaboration functionality can use Zimbra for email, calendars, contacts, tasks and shared resources. Hosting.NL also sells Microsoft 365 subscriptions ranging from Exchange Online to Business Basic and Business Standard for organizations already using the Microsoft productivity ecosystem.

The separate Spam Filter Service provides incoming and outgoing mail filtering, malware protection, phishing detection, ransomware protection and administrative controls. Larger environments can also use it in a white-label configuration.

The Simple Mail Service serves a different purpose. It is a transactional SMTP and API platform for websites, applications and software rather than a mailbox service. SPF, DKIM and DMARC support, webhooks, delivery information and message-retention controls are available, making it suitable for applications that send account notifications, invoices, confirmations or other automated email.

Hosting.NL also offers both a conventional Website Builder and an AI Website Builder. The regular builder uses templates and drag-and-drop editing for responsive websites and online shops. The AI option can generate the initial WordPress website while keeping the finished project on WordPress, which reduces the lock-in normally associated with proprietary website builders.

Migration is another strong part of the service. Websites, email and domains can be transferred without additional migration charges in many situations. WordPress users with compromised websites can also use the website-cleaning service, which covers malware removal, software updates and repair of the affected installation before or during a move.

The website is modern and responsive, with Dutch and English as the most dependable language versions. German-localized content also exists, although localization is less consistent than the Dutch and English versions. Products are sold in euros (€). Some consumer-oriented pages display VAT-inclusive pricing, while detailed business product tables can use amounts excluding VAT with the VAT-inclusive equivalent alongside them.
