hosting.com is a large international web hosting and infrastructure provider whose current business combines the long operating history of A2 Hosting with the wider World Host Group organization. The underlying hosting operation dates back to 2001, when Bryan Muthig started the company in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The A2 Hosting identity became established during the following years, and the business operated under that name for more than two decades.

A major corporate change took place on January 29, 2025, when A2 Hosting became part of World Host Group. The transition to the hosting.com brand followed on April 28, 2025. The global service continues to be legally operated by A2 Hosting, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company trading as hosting.com.

Hosting.com has grown far beyond the traditional shared-hosting profile associated with A2 Hosting. The group now serves more than 700,000 customers, hosts more than 3 million websites, operates in 181 countries and has more than 800 employees across the wider organization.

The current portfolio includes Web Hosting, Managed WordPress Hosting, WooCommerce Hosting, cPanel Hosting, Reseller Hosting, Managed VPS and Servers, Linux VPS, Windows VPS, Dedicated Servers, AI Application Hosting, AI Website Builder, Domain Registration, Email Hosting, SSL Certificates and Enterprise Hosting. There are also application-oriented configurations for business websites, agencies, ecommerce projects, blogs, learning platforms, CMS applications, databases, CRM and ERP systems, forums, analytics platforms, podcast hosting, WebSocket applications and other specialist workloads.

The current Web Hosting platform is considerably more modern than the older A2 Hosting shared packages. Starter, Pro and Max configurations use NVMe storage, AMD EPYC processing, LiteSpeed, isolated site resources, free SSL, malware protection, DDoS filtering, daily backups and email hosting. Storage allocations extend from smaller entry packages to considerably larger configurations, while CPU, memory, I/O capacity and mailbox limits increase with each tier.

Developer support is strong for a shared-hosting environment. A newer service is AI Application Hosting, intended for applications created with modern development environments and AI-assisted coding tools. It supports Node.js, Python, PHP and Rust applications and includes transactional email, environment management, DDoS protection, bot filtering, a web application firewall, rate limiting and Monarx malware protection. Delivery uses Cloudflare Enterprise edge infrastructure across more than 330 locations. This platform carries a 99.99% uptime commitment.

Larger organizations can use Enterprise and Bespoke Hosting with single-tenant bare-metal infrastructure, managed server fleets, high-availability clusters, custom CPU, RAM and storage allocation, white-label deployments, large-scale migration assistance, named account management and individually negotiated service levels.

The complementary services are extensive. Professional Email Hosting provides custom-domain mailboxes, webmail, mobile access, calendars, contacts, anti-spam and antivirus protection, together with migration from existing IMAP, Gmail or Microsoft environments.
