hosting.com is a large international web hosting and infrastructure provider whose current business combines the long operating history of A2 Hosting with the wider World Host Group organization. The underlying hosting operation dates back to 2001, when Bryan Muthig started the company in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The A2 Hosting identity became established during the following years, and the business operated under that name for more than two decades.

A major corporate change took place on January 29, 2025, when A2 Hosting became part of World Host Group. The transition to the hosting.com brand followed on April 28, 2025. The global service continues to be legally operated by A2 Hosting, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company trading as hosting.com.

Hosting.com has grown far beyond the traditional shared-hosting profile associated with A2 Hosting. The group now serves more than 700,000 customers, hosts more than 3 million websites, operates in 181 countries and has more than 800 employees across the wider organization.

The current portfolio includes Web Hosting, Managed WordPress Hosting, WooCommerce Hosting, cPanel Hosting, Reseller Hosting, Managed VPS and Servers, Linux VPS, Windows VPS, Dedicated Servers, AI Application Hosting, AI Website Builder, Domain Registration, Email Hosting, SSL Certificates and Enterprise Hosting. There are also application-oriented configurations for business websites, agencies, ecommerce projects, blogs, learning platforms, CMS applications, databases, CRM and ERP systems, forums, analytics platforms, podcast hosting, WebSocket applications and other specialist workloads.

The current Web Hosting platform is considerably more modern than the older A2 Hosting shared packages. Starter, Pro and Max configurations use NVMe storage, AMD EPYC processing, LiteSpeed, isolated site resources, free SSL, malware protection, DDoS filtering, daily backups and email hosting. Storage allocations extend from smaller entry packages to considerably larger configurations, while CPU, memory, I/O capacity and mailbox limits increase with each tier.

Developer support is strong for a shared-hosting environment. PHP through recent versions, Node.js, Python, MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, SSH, Git, WP-CLI, cron jobs and WebSockets are supported on relevant plans. Free managed migrations and an AI Website Builder for WordPress are also available.

Customers who prefer the traditional hosting administration environment can use dedicated cPanel Hosting. It includes the familiar cPanel file manager, phpMyAdmin, PHP configuration, email administration and Softaculous application installation. NVMe storage, LiteSpeed, daily backups with 30-day restore points, free SSL, a web application firewall, malware scanning and DDoS protection are combined with the conventional cPanel workflow.

Managed WordPress Hosting has become one of the most important parts of the company after the 2025 integration of Rocket.net. Rocket.net founder Ben Gabler joined hosting.com as Chief Product Officer, while Rocket.net technology became part of the managed WordPress platform. The resulting service combines AMD EPYC infrastructure with Cloudflare Enterprise edge delivery, WAF protection, Imunify360, malware detection and remediation, and WP Rocket integration.

The managed WordPress infrastructure also expanded into additional regions including Toronto, Dubai and India, improving latency and regional choice for WordPress customers outside the traditional U.S. and European locations.

The same managed WordPress technology extends to WooCommerce Hosting. It includes global edge caching, managed security, automated backups and updates, temporary preview URLs and managed migrations. This provides a more specialized ecommerce environment than simply installing WooCommerce on an ordinary shared-hosting account.

Reseller Hosting has also changed substantially. The newer reseller platform uses Enhance, with white-label branding, WordPress staging and cloning, customer account management, automated backups and scalable resource allocation. Hosting.com serves around 17,000 active reseller accounts across its reseller infrastructure. Traditional cPanel/WHM reseller environments remain available for customers and agencies that depend on established cPanel workflows.

For users requiring greater isolation and administrative control, Linux VPS / Cloud Servers provide dedicated vCPU, RAM and NVMe resources on AMD EPYC hardware. Customers receive full root access and can scale resources as requirements increase. Supported operating systems include Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Debian 12 and AlmaLinux 9.

The unmanaged VPS range leaves operating-system maintenance, security updates, application administration and backups under customer control unless optional managed or backup services are purchased. Hosting.com handles the physical hardware, network and underlying infrastructure.

Windows VPS provides a self-managed alternative using Windows Server, AMD EPYC processors and NVMe storage. Administrator access is included, while Plesk can be added for customers who prefer a graphical Windows server-management interface.

The managed infrastructure range includes Managed Servers, which are intended for customers who need dedicated computing resources without handling routine server administration themselves. Hosting.com manages operating-system patching, monitoring, security and day-to-day maintenance. Email hosting, Let's Encrypt SSL, firewall protection, malware scanning, daily off-server backups with 30-day retention and managed migration are included with relevant plans.

Dedicated Servers are now an active part of the portfolio. These are unmanaged bare-metal systems using AMD EPYC processors, dedicated network connectivity, root access and configurable NVMe or SATA storage. A dedicated 1 Gbps network connection is standard, while 10 Gbps upgrades are available. Dallas is a standard U.S. deployment point, with additional international locations available for suitable configurations. Storage can reach multi-terabyte capacities, including configurations with approximately 16 TB usable storage, while larger custom systems can be arranged.

A newer service is AI Application Hosting, intended for applications created with modern development environments and AI-assisted coding tools. It supports Node.js, Python, PHP and Rust applications and includes transactional email, environment management, DDoS protection, bot filtering, a web application firewall, rate limiting and Monarx malware protection. Delivery uses Cloudflare Enterprise edge infrastructure across more than 330 locations. This platform carries a 99.99% uptime commitment.

Larger organizations can use Enterprise and Bespoke Hosting with single-tenant bare-metal infrastructure, managed server fleets, high-availability clusters, custom CPU, RAM and storage allocation, white-label deployments, large-scale migration assistance, named account management and individually negotiated service levels.

The complementary services are extensive. Professional Email Hosting provides custom-domain mailboxes, webmail, mobile access, calendars, contacts, anti-spam and antivirus protection, together with migration from existing IMAP, Gmail or Microsoft environments. Some professional email functionality is delivered through Titan.

Domain services include registrations, transfers, DNS management, registrar locking and optional privacy features. Registrations can use partners including Enom, Tucows and Netregistry Wholesale. SSL options range from free Let's Encrypt certificates to paid DV, OV, EV, wildcard and multi-domain certificates.

Hosting.com has also become more internationally localized. Regional storefronts serve markets including the United States, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Germany, continental Europe, Spain, France, India, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Rwanda and the United Kingdom. English and Spanish localized storefronts are available, while regional operations use currencies appropriate to their markets. EUR pricing is used in Spain and MXN in Mexico, while USD remains the principal billing currency for the global operation.
