📜 Plan description

📄 Editorial Review

HostGiant is a Ugandan web hosting, website development, and IT services company operating through HostGiant Limited in Kampala. The business has been active since 2018, while Uganda Registration Services Bureau records identify HOSTGIANT LIMITED as a private company limited by shares under registration number 80020001211839.

HostGiant has a strong Ugandan focus, with local Kampala contact details, prices in Ugandan shillings (UGX), Ugandan domain extensions, and direct telephone support through local numbers. Its services also extend beyond hosting into website development, software development, SEO, computer equipment, and CCTV installation. The company has completed more than 1,000 websites for businesses and organizations from different industries.

The service range includes Shared Hosting, Linux Hosting, VPS, Dedicated Servers, Windows Hosting, WordPress Hosting, Email Hosting, Reseller Hosting, Domain Registration, SSL Certificates, Website Design, Software Development and SEO. The main website operates in English, and no multi-language/localized version exists.

Linux Web Hosting is based on cPanel and includes email accounts, MySQL databases, subdomains, and SSL support. The plans cover everything from very small websites through considerably larger business accounts.

The Basic package includes 500 MB storage, 4 GB monthly bandwidth, two databases, two subdomains, and 20 POP3 mailboxes. Standard raises storage to 2 GB and includes 10 GB bandwidth, ten databases, and 50 POP3 accounts. Business provides 5 GB storage, 50 GB bandwidth, 20 databases, and 100 POP3 accounts, while Professional increases storage to 10 GB and supports 100 databases and 200 email accounts.

Larger accounts include Mega Xtra with 30 GB storage and Mega Special with 50 GB storage. Mega Xtra includes unlimited listed bandwidth, databases, and subdomains together with 200 POP3 accounts. Mega Special includes 20 GB monthly bandwidth, unlimited databases and subdomains, and 200 POP3 accounts.

Some bandwidth limits differ between HostGiant's hosting information and the ordering system. Basic has also been listed with 10 GB rather than 4 GB, Standard with 15 GB rather than 10 GB, and Business with 20 GB rather than 50 GB. Storage allocations and the corresponding UGX 100,000, UGX 299,000, and UGX 450,000 annual prices remain consistent. Customers expecting significant traffic should confirm the bandwidth allowance attached to the selected package before purchase.

VPS Hosting is available with full root access, SSD storage, dedicated IP addressing, and unmetered transfer. Configurations range from 2 vCPU cores, 1.5 GB DDR4 memory, and 30 GB SSD storage up to 4 vCPU cores, 4 GB RAM, and 120 GB SSD. These servers are better suited to customers needing their own operating environment, custom software, or administrative access beyond normal shared hosting.

The VPS ordering section contains some inconsistencies. One product labeled "VPS HOSTING" resembles a small hosting package with 2 GB disk space, 10 GB bandwidth, email accounts, and databases at UGX 300,000 per year, while the dedicated VPS range uses monthly pricing and substantially different server specifications. The exact VPS configuration should therefore be confirmed when ordering.

Dedicated Hosting, Windows Hosting, WordPress Hosting, and Email Hosting are also part of the service portfolio. These services are useful for customers who need environments outside the standard cPanel Linux shared-hosting platform.

Reseller Hosting is available through the Starter Reseller package with 30 GB storage. It is suitable for smaller hosting resellers, web designers, and developers managing multiple customer websites under one service.

Domain registration covers both international and Ugandan extensions. Local options include .ug, .co.ug, .ac.ug, .or.ug and .go.ug, alongside extensions such as .com, .net, .org and .biz. Registrations, renewals, and transfers can be handled through the customer area. Some hosting orders can also include free registration for extensions such as .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info and .uk.

SSL support is available both as free SSL with the main shared-hosting packages and as a separately purchased Standard SSL Certificate. For ordinary websites, the included SSL means HTTPS can be enabled without necessarily buying an additional commercial certificate.

Free website migration is another useful part of the hosting service. Standard website transfers can normally be completed and made live within 24 hours, while more complicated migrations and multiple-site transfers can be coordinated with technical support.

Website development remains an important part of the company. HostGiant develops business websites and responsive e-commerce projects and provides content-management access so customers can update text and images through an administration interface. Combined hosting, development, domains, SEO, and software services make it possible for a Ugandan business to use one local company for most of its online infrastructure.
