Hosteur is a Franco-Swiss hosting, cloud, and managed infrastructure provider founded in 2003 by Laurent Escart. The current Swiss legal company, HOSTEUR SA, was incorporated in 2008 with share capital of CHF 100,000. Over time, the business has expanded far beyond traditional domain registration and shared hosting, developing a broad portfolio that includes virtual infrastructure, private cloud, managed IT services, cybersecurity, storage, business continuity, legal archiving, and regulated data hosting.

An important corporate change took place in September 2025, when investment company Evolem acquired Hosteur as part of a broader cloud and digital infrastructure strategy. In May 2026, Hosteur joined ARD-Com and TAS Cloud Services under the new Nubevia (nubevia.com) group. The combined organization concentrates on sovereign cloud, hosting, managed services, connectivity, cybersecurity, and infrastructure integration. Hosteur continues to operate as a distinct brand, while Laurent Escart remains involved in the development of the larger group.

The company is particularly relevant to European organizations that require strong data-sovereignty controls. Its infrastructure is located in France, Switzerland, and Bulgaria, allowing customers to keep their data under European or Swiss legislation rather than relying exclusively on large US cloud platforms. Hosteur has maintained ISO/IEC 27001 certification since January 2019 and HDS health-data hosting certification since October 2019. Its ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications were renewed in July 2025. This combination makes the company suitable for healthcare providers, public institutions, accounting firms, educational organizations, and businesses handling confidential or regulated information.

The entry-level portfolio includes domain registration and transfers. Hosteur is an ICANN-accredited registrar and supports a wide selection of generic and country-code extensions. Domains remain registered in the customer’s name, while contacts, DNS zones, transfers, renewals, and related settings are managed through the customer account. The optional Fast Anycast DNS service adds global DNS distribution, faster propagation, DDoS resistance, response-time monitoring, and management for multiple zones.

Traditional shared web hosting is connected to the FlexOne environment. It combines websites, databases, FTP accounts, email, webmail, DNS management, Let’s Encrypt certificates, backups, and an integrated website builder. However, the previous shared-hosting ordering address currently returns a 404 error, while FlexOne remains supported through the customer interface, technical documentation, and refund terms. New customers interested in this service should confirm its current commercial availability directly with the sales department.

The current Cloud VPS line is more straightforward. All configurations use NVMe SSD storage and include unlimited traffic. VPS Large provides 2 vCPUs, 4 GB of RAM, and 50 GB of NVMe storage. VPS Max increases capacity to 4 vCPUs, 8 GB of RAM, and 100 GB of storage, while VPS Ultra includes 8 vCPUs, 16 GB of RAM, and 200 GB of NVMe storage. These servers have no installation fee, no mandatory long-term commitment, and a 99.9% availability target. They are appropriate for websites, development environments, business applications, and customers who need greater administrative control than shared hosting can provide.

The Private and Hybrid Cloud service offers a much more flexible architecture. Customers can select processors, RAM, storage, virtual machines, Windows licenses, backup capacity, and management levels individually. Available Linux distributions include Debian, Ubuntu, and AlmaLinux, while Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 can be added for an extra monthly fee. The underlying platform uses Dell servers, VMware virtualization, and redundant 10 Gbps networking.

Managed-service options extend from completely self-managed infrastructure to continuous monitoring, operating-system maintenance, security management, and full 24/7 administration. Disaster-recovery services include PRA, where data is replicated daily to another facility located more than 70 kilometers away and can be restored within several hours. The more advanced PCA option uses real-time synchronization and near-immediate failover. These services are especially valuable for companies running business-critical applications.

RAGNARØKKR is Hosteur’s usage-based Platform as a Service. It supports more than 70 programming languages and frameworks, together with MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, automated scaling, load balancing, and one-click deployment through an application marketplace. Dynamic resources are billed only while they are actively consumed, while reserved cloudlets benefit from volume discounts.

RAGNARØKKR also supports preconfigured WordPress and Magento clusters. A WordPress environment can combine LiteSpeed or NGINX load balancing, PHP application nodes, MariaDB Galera, Redis, shared storage, Let’s Encrypt certificates, CDN integration, and Layer 7 anti-DDoS filtering. A typical WordPress cluster costs approximately €1.70 excluding VAT per day and includes ten rolling days of backup. Magento environments separate load balancing, application processing, caching, sessions, storage, administration, and replicated database components to create a more resilient architecture.

The storage portfolio is equally broad. HDrive provides online file synchronization and collaboration for Windows, macOS, Linux, and browser-based access. It supports several users and can include Office Online. Hosteur Bucket delivers S3-compatible object storage in France, within HDS-certified French infrastructure, or in Switzerland. WORM retention can be added for immutable archives, while compatibility with established backup and data-management platforms makes the service suitable for backups, long-term retention, and application storage.

Additional services include Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online, transactional email, email marketing, SMS campaigns, SSL certificates, free Let’s Encrypt certificates, RSA authentication, hardware security keys, managed firewalls, virtual desktops, remote training rooms, legal archiving, timestamping, electronic signatures, GDPR software and training, fiber connectivity, and Acronis-based backup and endpoint protection.

The business division adds infrastructure audits, architecture and deployment services, platform migration, outsourced IT management, server and user administration, business-continuity planning, big-data infrastructure, blockchain architecture, security assessments, monitoring, threat detection, and managed confidential containers. GPU infrastructure based on NVIDIA Tesla V100 hardware is also available for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing workloads.

Hosteur supports localized services in French, Italian, Spanish, English, Czech, Bulgarian, and German. English-language services are available for Ireland, Malta, and the United Kingdom. Depending on the regional market, billing is available in EUR, GBP, CZK, and BGN.

The overall service environment is functional but fragmented between Hosteur Web Services, Hosteur Business Services, ManagerV3, RAGNARØKKR, and several older service areas. Some sections use dated wording or connect to discontinued commercial routes, while the cloud, infrastructure, and certification areas are considerably more modern. The service is easier to use for customers who already understand the infrastructure category they need than for beginners expecting a single, simple hosting comparison interface.
