📄 Editorial Review

Hoster.KG is one of the longer-established web hosting and Internet infrastructure providers in Kyrgyzstan. Its history goes back to 2004, when the free hosting project on.kg was launched by two partners. The commercial operation developed into Hoster KG LLC in 2007, initially concentrating on paid shared hosting before expanding into virtual servers, physical servers, colocation, domains, SSL certificates and other infrastructure services.

The company is based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and operates under TIN 02802200710132. Its state registration certificate is dated February 27, 2013, while telecommunications license No. 14-1091-KR was issued on September 29, 2014 without a fixed expiration date. Sergey Ershov has been associated with Hoster KG for many years and has served as General Director.

Hoster KG has developed beyond the profile of a small shared-hosting provider. Its customer base exceeds 10,000 clients, with more than 9,500 hosted websites and over 5,000 domain registrations. The company also became an OFD fiscal-data operator in Kyrgyzstan in November 2020.

The current portfolio covers Shared Hosting, VPS/VDS, Dedicated Servers, Colocation, DNS Hosting, Domain Registration, SSL Certificates, Website Builder services and server hardware sales. This combination makes Hoster KG useful for both individual website owners and organizations that need local infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan.

The Shared Hosting range is divided into Economy, Standard, Luxury and Extra packages. All plans include unlimited traffic, MySQL databases, email accounts and subdomains, along with free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates, daily backups, CloudLinux account isolation and access to more than 100 applications that can be installed automatically. PHP versions up to 8.2 are available, together with Ruby/Rails and Python support.

Economy provides 1 GB of storage and support for one website. Standard increases capacity to 3 GB and five websites, Luxury includes 10 GB and ten websites, while Extra provides 15 GB and support for an unlimited number of websites. Resource limits also increase between packages, making the upper plans more suitable for busier websites and customers managing multiple domains.

The VPS/VDS platform uses KVM hardware virtualization. KVM-Small includes 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM and 15 GB SSD storage. KVM-Middle provides 2 vCPU, 1.5 GB RAM and 30 GB SSD, while KVM-Large includes 3 vCPU, 2.5 GB RAM and 60 GB SSD. All three include unlimited traffic and one IP address. Connectivity toward Kyrgyzstan peering reaches up to 100 Mbps, while international bandwidth is available at up to 50 Mbps.

Linux and BSD operating systems include Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS and FreeBSD, with Windows also available on the Middle and Large VPS plans. ISPmanager Lite 6 can be used on a trial basis, giving VPS customers a familiar web-based administration environment.

The Dedicated Server range is based mainly on HPE ProLiant DL360 and DL380 platforms from the Gen9 and Gen10 generations. Gen10 systems can be configured with Intel Xeon Scalable Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum processors, substantial DDR4 memory capacities and SAS, SATA or NVMe storage. HPE iLO remote management is also supported. Some older server configurations based on G7, G8 and G9 hardware remain part of the broader dedicated-server portfolio.

Colocation Hosting is available for 1U and 2U servers as well as network equipment. Standard server placement includes an IP address, unlimited traffic, connectivity of up to 100 Mbps toward Kyrgyzstan peering, international bandwidth of up to 50 Mbps and a 1 Gbps network interface. Network-equipment installations can use ports between 1 and 10 Gbps depending on requirements.

Hoster KG also sells HPE server hardware in Bishkek, covering older ProLiant G5 systems through newer Gen10 platforms. Replacement hardware is available under warranty, including replacement within 24 hours for covered server purchases. This hardware activity gives the company additional value for organizations maintaining their own infrastructure rather than renting everything as a service.

The DNS Hosting range includes DNS-1, DNS-5 and DNS-10 packages for one, five or ten domains. Domain-registration services cover international extensions, while new .KG domain registrations are currently suspended.

Commercial SSL Certificates are available from several established certificate authorities, including Sectigo/Comodo, GlobalSign, AlphaSSL, RapidSSL, GeoTrust, Thawte and DigiCert. Free Let's Encrypt certificates are included with shared hosting.

The Website Builder provides more than 30 templates, responsive design support, feedback forms, photo galleries, catalogs and multilingual website functionality. It is suitable for customers who prefer a visual site-building environment instead of installing and maintaining a CMS.

The website is available in Russian and English. The Russian version is more complete, while parts of the English localization still contain untranslated or older information. The interface also retains some characteristics of an older hosting website, with legacy product pages mixed with newer offers.
