HOST.MD is one of Moldova’s longest-established hosting and domain-service brands. Its history is closely connected with the state enterprise MoldData, founded in 1993, which developed important parts of Moldova’s national internet infrastructure and became known for .md domain administration, web hosting, server services, and datacenter operations.

MoldData was absorbed into the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service, generally known as STISC, at the end of 2019. Its rights, assets, responsibilities, and technical operations were transferred to the public institution. HOST.MD continues to use infrastructure, legal documents, contact information, and technical resources connected with the former MoldData organization.

The company covers considerably more than ordinary entry-level website hosting. Its services include Shared Hosting, Premium Hosting, Linux VPS, Windows VPS, Virtual Machines, Dedicated Servers, Server Colocation, Domain Registration, SSL Certificates, Business Email, backup storage, website development, managed firewall services, load balancing, VPN connectivity, DDoS protection, and application-security solutions.

Standard shared hosting is divided into packages with 2 GB, 10 GB, and 30 GB of storage. Depending on the package, customers receive support for multiple domains and mailboxes, together with unlimited databases, unlimited traffic, SSL support, incremental backups, malware protection, DDoS protection, free website migration, and one-click installation for WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, PrestaShop, and phpBB. A 15-day trial account is available with 500 MB of storage, one domain, and 5 GB of traffic.

Premium Hosting increases the available storage from 4 GB to 324 GB while allowing unlimited hosted domains, mailboxes, databases, and traffic. These packages are more suitable for larger websites, online stores, agencies, and customers who need more storage without moving to a self-managed virtual server.

The VPS range supports both Linux and Windows. Each virtual server receives guaranteed processor, memory, and storage resources, SSH or Remote Desktop access, unlimited traffic, connectivity of up to 1 Gbps, and an administration interface for starting, stopping, restarting, and monitoring the server. Additional resources can be added when the original configuration is no longer sufficient.

A separate Virtual Machine range offers configurable Linux and Windows environments with optional upgrades for RAM, disk space, processor allocation, and IP addresses. The management interface includes operating-system reinstallation, console access, usage statistics, and basic power controls.

Dedicated servers are installed in the company’s Chişinău datacenter and include local network connectivity of up to 1 Gbps. The standard configurations are mainly based on Intel Xeon X3430, X5560, and X5660 processors, DDR3 memory, SATA hard drives, and early-generation SSD storage. These servers can still work well for legacy applications, backup tasks, development environments, and workloads that do not require recent processors, although the exact storage condition, RAID configuration, and replacement policy should be confirmed before ordering.

Colocation is available for 1U, 2U, and 3U servers, while larger installations receive customized offers. The normal allocation includes one IP address, 20 TB of monthly traffic, a 100 Mbps connection, electricity, and one network port. Additional bandwidth, IP addresses, remote-hands assistance, redundant power supplies, backup storage, professional administration, and enterprise intervention levels can be added separately.

Enterprise infrastructure can be combined with F5 (f5.com) load balancing and application security, Juniper (juniper.net) managed or virtual firewall services, and Imperva / Incapsula WAF, CDN, IP protection, and DDoS mitigation. These options make the company relevant for more complex business platforms, public-sector systems, and applications that require stronger traffic filtering or network security.

The main website is available in Romanian, English, and Russian. The customer portal supports a wider selection of interface languages, including French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Ukrainian, Turkish, Chinese, and several others. Services can be ordered in Moldovan lei and US dollars.

The website retains an older, narrow desktop layout and contains several legacy technical references. Some dedicated-server configurations, Plesk versions, PHP references, nameserver details, and SLA figures originate from different periods. The customer portal has a more modern interface and works better on smaller screens, but the exact hardware generation, software version, taxes, service guarantees, and licensing conditions should be included in the final quotation.
