Hipex was a Dutch managed e-commerce hosting specialist with roots dating back to 2008. The platform was developed around the performance and scalability requirements of demanding online stores, particularly Magento installations that had outgrown conventional shared hosting.

Hipex B.V. developed into a recognizable hosting brand around 2016. Milan Bosman was one of its co-founders, Freek Gruntjes combined the co-founder and chief technology officer roles, and Johan van de Pol served as founder and managing director. The company operated from the Netherlands with a specialized technical team focused on e-commerce infrastructure rather than mass-market hosting.

The company was acquired by team.blue on June 9, 2021. Hipex subsequently joined Hypernode, another Dutch e-commerce hosting specialist formerly known as Byte. The Hipex platform, personnel and customers were integrated into Hypernode, and the Hipex brand was fully retired during 2022.

Hipex no longer operates as an independent hosting provider and does not maintain a current catalog of orderable hosting plans. Its technology and e-commerce expertise continue through Hypernode, which is now the relevant provider for new orders, account support and current service conditions.

Before the integration, Hipex concentrated on managed Magento, Shopware, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Sylius, Pimcore, Akeneo, Drupal and PHP hosting. Its product range included shared hosting environments, fully managed dedicated servers and customized enterprise clusters.

Shared hosting used resource pools built on physical servers while assigning isolated capacity to individual webshops. Customers received SSD storage, managed security, automated monitoring, daily backups, SSL certificates and application-specific optimization without having to administer the underlying operating system.

The hosting stack included Varnish, Redis, Elasticsearch and optimized PHP configurations. It was designed for online stores with significant catalog sizes, database activity and visitor traffic. CDN integration, progressive web applications, performance analysis and development tools were also supported.

Dedicated servers provided isolated physical resources for stores that required more processing power, memory and storage than a shared environment could supply. These systems remained fully managed, with operating-system maintenance, security updates, monitoring and web-server configuration handled by the hosting team.

Enterprise clusters separated application and database workloads across multiple servers. Larger environments could include several application nodes, separate database systems, load distribution and customized storage. Hybrid capacity allowed additional resources to be introduced during major campaigns or seasonal traffic peaks.

The development environment supported SSH, SFTP, deployment workflows, SSH keys, multiple PHP versions, MySQL administration, Node.js, application logs, APIs and CI/CD processes. New Relic and Blackfire integrations provided deeper application profiling and performance analysis.

Security included network and server firewalls, brute-force protection, bot filtering, key-based administrative access and centralized log monitoring. Operating-system updates and urgent security fixes were handled as part of the managed service.

The website supported Dutch and English, while commercial prices were displayed in euros. Its interface was modern and responsive, but the remaining Hipex product information is historical and should not be used as a current Hypernode quotation.
