*📜 Plan description

CCX33 expands the dedicated vCPU family to 8 AMD cores, 32 GB RAM and 240 GB NVMe SSD storage and increases the traffic allowance at EU locations to 30 TB per month. This configuration targets CPU and memory intensive workloads such as larger databases, analytics engines, busy application clusters or complex business applications where consistent performance is critical. With prices from EUR 48.49 per month and hourly billing, CCX33 offers a high performance profile at a still manageable cost level for mid sized and larger projects. Dedicated cores avoid contention with other tenants, so CPU bound operations, indexing, background processing and peak traffic hours remain predictable. IPv6 and Primary IPv4 networking, Floating IPs for failover and load balancing, private networks for internal communication and attachable SSD volumes for data segregation help architects design robust multi node deployments that can be grown over time without changing the instance type.

All Hetzner Cloud servers are deployed in modern data center parks in Germany, Finland, the USA and Singapore with redundant power, cooling and 10 Gbit networking. Instances run on Ampere, AMD and Intel processors with local NVMe SSD storage in RAID10 and can be extended with block storage volumes of up to 10 TB each and up to 16 volumes per server. Billing is based on hourly usage with a fixed monthly price cap, there is no minimum contract term and the traffic quota at EU locations starts at 20 TB per month while extra data is charged per TB. Customers manage their infrastructure via the Hetzner Cloud Console, REST API and CLI, use Primary IPs and Floating IPs, private networks and stateful firewalls and rely on snapshots, automated backups and 24/7 ticket based support.

📄 Editorial Review

Hetzner is a privately owned German hosting and infrastructure company established in 1997 by Martin Hetzner. The owner-led business operates primarily through Hetzner Online GmbH in Gunzenhausen, Bavaria, Germany, with Hetzner Finland Oy supporting its Finnish operations. Its development from a small server reseller into one of Europe’s large data-center operators helps explain the breadth of the current platform: low-cost services sit on top of self-operated European facilities, a substantial private network, and an expanding international cloud footprint.

Martin Hetzner initially resold server capacity located in the United States. The company rented its first data-center space in Nuremberg in 2001 and had reached approximately 200,000 hosted domains and 20,000 servers by 2008. Its first company-owned park opened at Falkenstein in 2009. A second park followed in Nuremberg in 2012 on a 40,000-square-meter property designed to accommodate as many as ten data centers; at that point, the operation had about 60,000 servers and 140 employees.

Expansion into Finland was planned from 2015 and supported by the 1,100-kilometer C-Lion1 submarine cable, which entered operation in 2016 with a design capacity of 120 Tbit/s. The company introduced its cloud platform in 2018 and exceeded 100,000 instances during the first year. International cloud locations opened in Ashburn, Virginia in 2021, Hillsboro, Oregon in 2022, and Singapore in 2024. By 2025, Hetzner had passed one million active cloud instances and 500,000 server units and had joined the EMAS environmental-management system. In 2026, the group employed more than 450 people while remaining privately controlled.

The catalog spans Dedicated Servers, Cloud, Web Hosting, Managed Servers, Colocation, Object Storage, Storage Box, Storage Share, Load Balancers, Domain Registration, DNS, and SSL Certificates. The main site supports English and German, with product values available in EUR and USD. Its responsive interface separates the major service families into detailed configurators, while documentation, more than 350 tutorials, community discussions, and live system status occupy dedicated platforms.

Dedicated hosting covers EX, AX, RX, SX, GPU, and DX systems, supplemented by a server finder and an auction for older or previously used hardware. Representative EX models include EX44, EX63, and EX131. Processor choices range from an Intel Core i5-13500 or Core Ultra 7 265 to a Xeon Gold 6731P. Memory starts at 64 GB DDR4 and reaches 256 GB registered DDR5 ECC, depending on the configuration. NVMe storage ranges from two 512 GB devices to four 7.68 TB data-center-class drives. Standard network access is 1 Gbit/s, while selected higher systems can use a 10 Gbit/s uplink.

Linux can be installed automatically, and customers may instead use Windows Server 2025, a VNC-based custom installation, or an optional Webmin LAMP environment. The dedicated management layer includes hardware monitoring, reset and rescue functions, image installation, reverse DNS, firewall rules, and vSwitch networking. IPv4 connectivity and a /64 IPv6 allocation are included. Standard ports generally carry unlimited traffic; the optional 10 Gbit/s uplink has separate traffic conditions. Basic assistance covers defective-hardware replacement and reinstallation of the base system, not ongoing application administration.

The cloud portfolio distinguishes shared-vCPU instances for development, testing, and moderate production workloads from dedicated-vCPU General Purpose machines for sustained compute use, busy databases, machine learning, and high-traffic applications. Core functions include private networks, stateful firewalls, snapshots, backups, block volumes, one-click applications, and load balancing. A REST API and command-line client support automation, with integrations for Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes. Cloud capacity is available in Germany, Finland, the United States, and Singapore.

The load-balancing service supports TCP, HTTP, HTTPS, and HTTP/2, with TLS termination or pass-through, active and passive health checks, Round Robin and Least Connections algorithms, private-network attachment, and targets drawn from both cloud and dedicated servers. Three load-balancer sizes progress from five services, 25 targets, and ten SSL certificates to 30 services, 150 targets, and 50 certificates; each includes 20 TB of traffic in the applicable regions. A Kubernetes controller allows clusters to provision these resources without manual console work.

Shared Web Hosting uses S, M, L, and XL packages on German servers. S includes 10 GB storage, one database, one cron job, two PHP processes, 192 MB of PHP memory, and Varnish. M increases this to 50 GB, five databases, five cron jobs, five PHP processes, and 256 MB. L supplies 100 GB, 20 databases, ten cron jobs, ten PHP processes, and 384 MB, and adds Redis, SSH, and Node.js. XL reaches 300 GB, 50 databases, 20 cron jobs, 20 PHP processes, and 512 MB, with telephone support added at this level.

All four shared tiers include unlimited mailboxes, TLS-protected mail transport, spam filtering, virus scanning, SSL, daily backups, and selectable PHP 5, 7, and 8 branches. The data layer supports MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and phpMyAdmin. WordPress has a one-click installer, and automatic DNS setup simplifies initial activation. Mail accounts can use CalDAV, CardDAV, and iCal in addition to webmail and ordinary SMTP access. Domains are purchased separately rather than automatically bundled with every package.

Managed hosting is divided into virtual MC30 and MC60 systems and dedicated MA80, MA130, and MA200 machines. The range starts at 16 GB RAM and 200 GB virtual storage and reaches 256 GB RAM with two 1.92 TB NVMe drives in RAID 1. Hetzner maintains a Debian-based stack with Apache, MariaDB, PHP, PostgreSQL, Redis, Exim, and Dovecot. It also installs operating-system and software updates, applies security maintenance, monitors the environment around the clock, and retains daily backups for seven or fourteen days according to package. Customers administer accounts and sites through konsoleH but do not receive root access. This model is materially different from an unmanaged VPS: system control is narrower in exchange for provider maintenance.

Storage products address several distinct workloads. Storage Box is a protocol-rich remote-storage service with 1 TB, 5 TB, 10 TB, and 20 TB capacities, unlimited traffic, ten simultaneous connections, up to 100 subaccounts, and between ten and forty snapshots. It accepts FTP, FTPS, SFTP, SCP, Samba, BorgBackup, Restic, Rclone, rsync, HTTPS, and WebDAV. Customers can place a box in Germany or Finland, making it useful for server backups, file exchange, and application archives.

Storage Share is a managed Nextcloud environment in Germany. Its 1 TB, 5 TB, and 10 TB configurations allow three, seven, or ten subdomains, unlimited users, and plan-specific simultaneous-connection limits of 50, 100, or 200. It includes groups, quotas, application support, SSL, a RAID-based backend, and several backups each day. Object Storage instead provides an S3-compatible interface for applications, analytics, backup, archiving, and digital assets. A customer can create up to 100 buckets, each holding as much as 100 TB, with object locking, object expiry, versioning, pre-signed URLs, and optional server-side encryption. Object Storage runs in Nuremberg, Falkenstein, and Helsinki.

Free authoritative DNS management is available through a graphical console and API, normally with up to 25 zones. Supported records include A, AAAA, CAA, CNAME, DS, HINFO, HTTPS, MX, NS, PTR, RP, SOA, SRV, SVCB, TLSA, and TXT. DNSSEC remains unavailable, which is a genuine limitation for organizations that require signed zones. SSL products come through DigiCert and the Thawte certificate family. The selection covers domain validation, organization validation, wildcard certificates, and extended validation, permits as many as ten SAN entries, and uses one-year terms. Domain-validated certificates can normally be issued in one day, while validated organization and EV products may take two to four weeks.
