📄 Editorial Review
Hannover IT (Iran) — From Early BBS Roots to Telecom & IoT Specialists
Hannover IT traces its lineage to the dial-up era. The founders ran a bulletin board system as early as 1994, launched one of the first text networks in southeastern Iran, and—after connecting to academic and local networks—became, by their account, the third BBS in Iran to adopt TCP/IP and provide email in 1995. The company formally began operations in 2004, taking its name from the German city of Hannover, where the founders gained data-center experience during their studies.
What They Do Today
Hannover IT has evolved into an engineering-led outfit focused on telecommunications and embedded systems rather than commodity web hosting. Their current scope includes:
- Telecom hardware: design and production of various telecommunication boards.
- IoT systems: end-to-end solutions built around sensors and controllers.
- Microcontroller development: professional projects using Assembly/C for devices that drive sensors, LCD/LED modules, keypads, motors, and more.
- Industrial control: programming Siemens Simatic S7 PLCs for production lines.
- Office automation software: workflow and correspondence solutions for organizations.
- VoIP/telephony: networked telecommunications systems based on internet protocols.
- Computer vision: real-time image processing and machine-vision applications.
- Custom software: project delivery in Delphi, C#, and C++.
They also note cooperation with national carriers and recognition via a Creative Company Award from the Presidential Vice Presidency for Science and Technology for one of their products.
Network & Service Caveats
They explicitly state that broader internet disruptions are outside their control and that service states return to normal when restrictions are lifted. That is a practical disclaimer for projects deployed on domestic networks.
Reliability, Uptime & Refunds
For production deployments—especially in telecom, VoIP, or industrial control—clients should obtain a written SLA covering availability targets, response times, spare-parts strategy, and warranty terms.
Support & Engagement
They present themselves as a technically hands-on team. For enterprise buyers, it is sensible to clarify:
- Primary support channels and coverage hours,
- On-site vs. remote interventions,
- Firmware/patch cadence for IoT and PLC solutions,
- Documentation handover and knowledge transfer at project completion.
Who They Suit
- Organizations needing custom telecom boards, PLC/industrial automation, or IoT built to spec.
- Teams rolling out VoIP or machine-vision workloads that benefit from local engineering and integration.
- Public or private entities that value long regional experience over generic hosting plans.
Strengths
- Deep local pedigree from early BBS and networking work.
- Broad hardware-plus-software skill set (telecom, PLCs, IoT, VoIP, computer vision).
- Experience working alongside major domestic operators.
Gaps to Confirm
- No stated uptime guarantee or refund terms.
- Limited public detail on data-center footprints, spares, and escalation SLAs.
- Hosting is not their core; they operate more like a systems integrator and R\&D house.
