GTS Telecom is one of Romania's longest-established business Internet, cloud and data-center infrastructure providers. Its history in the Romanian market goes back to 1993, when EUnet began operating as the country's first commercial Internet service provider. The present GTS Telecom organization was formed in 2004 through the merger of KPNQwest Romania and GTS Romania, both of which had been active locally since 1993. In 2014, GTS Central Europe was acquired by Deutsche Telekom, bringing the Romanian operation into the Deutsche Telekom Group.

The company serves more than 1,100 business customers with a team of around 150 employees and operates two data centers in Romania. Its development includes the creation of Romania's first private cross-border telecommunications network in 2003, the opening of the Bucharest data center in 2007, the acquisition of Datek Telecom in 2010 and the launch of the Cluj-Napoca data center in 2016.

GTS is primarily an enterprise infrastructure provider rather than a conventional shared-hosting company. Its portfolio covers Core VPS, Virtual Hosting Environment, Private Cloud, Multi Cloud, Dedicated Storage, GPU as a Service, Colocation, Backup as a Service, Disaster Recovery as a Service, Firewall as a Service and Anti-DDoS, together with Internet access, IP Transit, Ethernet, leased lines, Dark Fiber, MPLS VPN and other telecommunications services.

The Core VPS range provides Linux and Windows virtual servers hosted in Romania with dedicated vCPU resources, SSD storage, full root or administrator access, a dedicated IP address and unmetered traffic. Linux configurations start with relatively compact systems and extend to considerably larger instances suitable for business applications, databases and development environments.

Available Linux distributions include AlmaLinux, Alpine Linux, CentOS, Debian, Fedora, openSUSE, Rocky Linux and Ubuntu, while Windows users can select Windows Server. Virtual servers can be deployed automatically, restarted, reinstalled and administered remotely. Snapshots are available for convenient recovery points, while more comprehensive protection can be added through Backup as a Service. Firewall functionality and Anti-DDoS protection complement the virtual-server infrastructure.

The Virtual Hosting Environment, or VHE, is the company's public-cloud IaaS platform. It provides configurable processing power, memory, storage and networking resources from the Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca facilities. Customers can create virtual machines, virtual applications and private networks and adjust resources according to workload requirements. Both fixed-resource and consumption-oriented models are available.

Private Cloud is designed for organizations that need dedicated computing resources rather than shared public-cloud capacity. Dedicated hardware can be integrated with the public-cloud environment to create hybrid architectures for applications with different security, performance or compliance requirements.

Multi Cloud adds integration between GTS infrastructure and large public-cloud ecosystems such as Microsoft Azure. This makes it possible to combine local Romanian infrastructure with hyperscale cloud services while maintaining a unified infrastructure strategy and local technical support.

Dedicated Storage provides enterprise storage capacity ranging from relatively small allocations to multi-terabyte deployments. SSD, SAS and SATA options are available, together with protocols including iSCSI, NFS and CIFS. Storage can be connected to cloud infrastructure, colocated systems or customer networks.

The GPU as a Service platform extends the portfolio into artificial intelligence, machine learning, high-performance computing, rendering, video processing and other GPU-intensive workloads. NVIDIA-based resources are available without requiring customers to purchase and maintain specialized GPU hardware themselves.

Backup as a Service provides disk-to-disk protection for servers and company data, while Disaster Recovery as a Service supports replication between physical and virtual environments and can be designed around specific RPO and RTO objectives. Firewall as a Service provides managed next-generation firewall functionality, while Anti-DDoS continuously detects and mitigates malicious traffic.

Traditional low-cost shared hosting is not a major part of the current product range. Customers looking specifically for inexpensive cPanel hosting and bundled website tools will find GTS much more infrastructure-oriented. Physical-server requirements are generally addressed through Colocation, Private Cloud and customized infrastructure solutions rather than through a large self-service dedicated-server catalog.

The website is available in Romanian and English, which is appropriate for both domestic businesses and international customers. Core VPS pricing is primarily expressed in EUR, while the online ordering environment can also work with RON.
