GloboTech is a Canadian hosting and infrastructure provider founded in 1999 by Pierre-Luc Quimper and Charles Theriault, who started the business while they were still teenagers. Its first services included IRC shell accounts and web hosting, followed by DDoS protection, virtual private servers, dedicated hardware and managed enterprise infrastructure.

The company opened its Montreal office and hired its first employees during the following years. By 2008, GloboTech managed more than 1,000 servers and operated a network with capacity exceeding 10 Gbps. Continued expansion brought a 99.99% network uptime commitment, larger corporate hosting contracts and more extensive managed services. By 2014, its infrastructure had grown beyond 2,000 servers, network capacity exceeded 120 Gbps and the technical and sales team numbered more than 25 people.

GloboTech later developed an OpenStack cloud platform and its own infrastructure-management environment. The company now manages thousands of servers and works with customers in more than 150 countries. It remains a relatively compact organization, within the 11–50 employee range, allowing customers to receive enterprise infrastructure without the heavily layered support structure associated with much larger providers.

The present catalog focuses on dedicated servers, preconfigured bare-metal systems, GPU servers, storage servers, OpenStack VPS cloud instances, private cloud infrastructure, colocation and managed hosting. Conventional shared hosting, reseller hosting, consumer email, website builders and retail domain registration are not central to its current business. GloboTech is mainly suitable for developers, SaaS providers, hosting companies, agencies, IT departments and businesses requiring direct control over physical or virtual infrastructure.

Dedicated server hosting includes entry-level Intel Xeon systems, modern AMD Ryzen and EPYC servers, dual-processor configurations, high-capacity storage platforms and GPU machines equipped with Nvidia accelerators. Standard configurations normally include a 1 Gbps uplink, generous monthly transfer, private IPMI access, remote reboot functionality, operating-system reinstallation and full root or administrator access.

Linux dedicated servers can generally be deployed within approximately four hours after order approval. Windows installations may require four to six hours, while customized 10 Gbps configurations can take between three and five business days.

The preconfigured server range is designed for customers who need rapid deployment. These systems are already assembled in Montreal and are available in limited quantities. They can run Linux or Windows, as well as virtualization environments such as Proxmox, VMware ESXi and KVM.

VPS Cloud is built on OpenStack and uses multiple compute nodes connected to centralized SSD storage. Customers can create, resize and manage instances through the cloud portal, with support for snapshots, SSH keys, security groups, private VLANs and configurable processor, memory and storage resources.

Each cloud instance includes one usable IPv4 address by default. CPU and memory can be reduced after an upgrade, provided the disk allocation has not been enlarged. Expanded storage cannot subsequently be reduced, so disk upgrades should be planned carefully.

Cloud infrastructure is billed hourly and invoiced at the end of the monthly billing period, without a minimum service term. It is suitable for development environments, scalable websites, application servers, clustered systems and isolated customer workloads. Snapshots simplify testing and recovery, although they should be combined with an independent backup service for important production data.

Private Cloud provides dedicated single-tenant infrastructure with at least two compute nodes, customized storage, networking and management. Every private cloud is individually designed according to hardware requirements, redundancy, operating systems, security needs and the required management level. Migration assistance and fully managed operation are also available.

Colocation is offered by rack unit for customers placing their own equipment in Montreal. A standard allocation can include A+B power, a 1 Gbps network port, 50 TB of monthly transfer, a /29 IPv4 subnet and private IPMI connectivity through the GloboDCIM portal. Larger power allocations, GPU equipment, private cabinets and custom network arrangements are handled individually.

GloboHands remote-hands technicians can install hardware, replace components, inspect cabling, troubleshoot physical problems and perform other tasks when customers cannot visit the facility.

Additional infrastructure services include server migration, managed backup, dedicated firewalls, DDoS mitigation, SSL certificates, high-availability clusters, load balancing and managed server administration. This combination works well for companies that need more assistance than ordinary unmanaged hosting but do not maintain a complete internal infrastructure team.

GloboTech operates through Nworks Management Corp. Enovum Data Centers was historically connected to GloboTech through common corporate ownership and provided the Montreal facility used during an important part of the company’s development. Enovum was acquired by Bit Digital on October 11, 2024, in a transaction valued at CAD 62.8 million, approximately USD 46 million at the exchange rate used for the acquisition.

The company serves customers through English and French versions of its website. Separate regional options cover Canada, Quebec and international customers, while service prices can be displayed in USD or CAD. Customer assistance is also available in English and French.
