GLOBE.LU is a Luxembourg web hosting and domain-services company operated by Globe Media s.e.n.c., with its registered business address in Pratz, Luxembourg. The company has provided web hosting since 2007, giving it a long operating history in the Luxembourg hosting market. Its legal information identifies Ralph Wireman as CEO, with Luxembourg commercial registration B124259, authorization number 115741 and VAT ID LU21694047.

The service portfolio covers domain registration, shared hosting, KVM VPS/cloud servers, email hosting, WordPress and Joomla hosting, managed WordPress/Joomla/Nextcloud application servers, PrestaShop servers, Drupal servers, SSL certificates, a website builder, web design and PHP development. Reseller hosting also existed as part of the portfolio, although new reseller services are no longer available.

Shared hosting is built around the PROWEB and BIZWEB package families. The entry packages are suitable for small websites and email use, while the larger BIZWEB configurations provide additional storage, databases, mailboxes and hosted domains. The environment uses NVMe storage, HTTP/2, RAID10, daily backups, DDoS protection, brute-force protection and 24/7 server monitoring. Free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates are available, together with MariaDB, phpMyAdmin, webmail and a browser-based file manager.

PHP compatibility is broad, with selectable versions ranging from PHP 7.x through current PHP 8.x releases on compatible plans. This makes the hosting suitable for both older PHP projects and modern WordPress, Joomla and custom PHP applications. The daily backup system provides an additional recovery layer, although the standard daily copy replaces the previous daily backup rather than retaining a long historical archive.

The server range is based on KVM VPS/cloud virtualization rather than conventional bare-metal dedicated servers. Customers receive dedicated virtual resources, root SSH access, one IPv4 address, NVMe storage and substantial monthly traffic allocations. Configurations scale from small systems with 1 vCore and 2 GB RAM to considerably larger virtual servers with 8 vCores and 16 GB RAM. Connectivity reaches 1 Gbit/s at the VPS level, while the host infrastructure uses redundant 10 Gbit connectivity.

Optional server backups provide both automatic and manual recovery points using seven available backup slots. These backups are priced separately as a percentage of the VPS package cost.

Globe also has specialized WordPress Server, Joomla Server and Nextcloud Server products for customers who prefer a preconfigured application environment. These packages use Ubuntu-based ARM64 virtual servers with the selected application already installed and automatic operating-system package updates. They avoid some of the restrictions normally associated with shared hosting, making them better suited to resource-intensive plugins, large CMS installations or private cloud applications.

These application servers do not include a conventional shared-hosting control panel or local mail server. Administration is therefore closer to a managed application VPS, with SSH/root and application-level management available instead of a traditional all-in-one hosting account.

Dedicated application configurations have also been available for PrestaShop and Drupal. These provide standalone VPS resources, root access, PHP, FTP and Let's Encrypt SSL. Some older SSD-based configurations are no longer available for immediate purchase, while the newer NVMe-based server ranges form the more relevant part of Globe's current server offering.

Email hosting can be ordered independently from website hosting. Packages range from small mail services to larger premium mailboxes and include IMAP, SMTP and POP3, Roundcube webmail, spam filtering, antivirus protection, autoresponders and contact management. This is useful for customers who want professional email on their own domain without maintaining a website.

Domain registration remains an important part of the business. Globe supports a large catalog of country-code and generic domain extensions, including .lu, .com, .de, .eu and .nl. Domain-only customers can also receive a very small complimentary hosting allocation suitable for a basic landing page and email account.

The AI Website Builder provides an alternative for users who do not want to manage WordPress or another CMS. It includes responsive layouts, multilingual website functionality, more than 220 templates, pre-built content blocks and website-import capabilities. Higher plans support e-commerce features and integrations with payment systems such as PayPal and Stripe. Globe additionally provides professional website design and custom PHP/MySQL development for projects requiring a tailored implementation.

Commercial SSL certificates are available through SSL.com, complementing the free Let's Encrypt certificates available with standard hosting. Options cover conventional domain validation, business validation, wildcard certificates and EV certificates, with installation available on Globe-hosted services.
